Leeds teenager admits to killing his grandmother

A teenager has admitted killing his grandmother in Leeds. Brandon Skelton, 18, pleaded guilty to the manslaughter of 60-year-old Mandy Barnett on the grounds of diminished responsibility at Leeds Crown Court on Thursday.He pleaded not guilty to murder, a charge which was subsequently dropped by the prosecution on account of his admission. Ms Barnett was found injured at a house in Prince Edward Grove, New Farnley, on 23 October 2023 and later died.
