Michigan football: 4-star OT Malakai Lee commits to 2026 class
Sherrone Moore has been putting out eyeball emojis like that's his job as of late, noting that the Wolverines have garnered a commitment that just hasn't yet gone public. With several key top targets on the board, it's been unclear just who Moore has been hinting at.
But as Friday neared, it became clear that one of them was a really big fish that Michigan football had been targeting for quite some time.

The Wolverines have longed for 2026 Honolulu (Hawaii) Kamehameha four-star offensive tackle Malakai Lee in a big way, having hosted him to campus more than any other program while also taking every opportunity to make the 10-hour trek to the islands to show Lee some love. Though Texas, Alabama, and Georgia all felt relatively confident that they would land the No. 85 overall prospect according to On3, it was Michigan who came out on top, beating the SEC powerhouses for his commitment.
Lee made it official, pledging to the maize and blue on Friday evening. He made his commitment live on the 247Sports YouTube channel.
Here's the scouting report from 247Sports' Greg Biggins:
From a traits standpoint, offensive linemen don't come much better looking than Lee. He's all of 6-6, 325 pounds with verified 36' arms and an 85'+ wingspan. He's a fluid mover as well and has the feet, balance and frame to project as a tackle and could line up on either side, right or left in college. He plays a little hoops as well and checks off the multi-sport box for us. He uses his length well and has the ability to slide and mirror opposing edge rushers. He has added some physicality in the run game over the last year. He's putting guys on their backs more but playing with a more aggressive edge to him is an area we think Lee can still improve on. Saying that, he's an easy high Power 4 prospect and if he hits his ceiling, he will be playing football for a very long time.
Lee is Michigan's 17th commitment in the 2026 recruiting cycle. Here's what the class looks like with him in the fold:

Newbury Park (Calif.) four-star QB Brady Smigiel (No. 83 overall, 8th QB, 12th in California)

Denver (Colo.) Mullen three-star TE Mason Bonner (No. 602, 30th TE, 5th in Colorado)
Dallas (Tx.) Parish Episcopal three-star WR Jaylen Pile (No. 718 overall, 105th WR, 112th in Texas)
Richmond (Va.) Huguenot three-star LB Markel Dabney (No. 785 overall, 54th ATH, 18th in Virginia)
Washington (D.C.) St. John's three-star EDGE Tariq Boney (No. 807 overall, 74th EDGE, 4th in D.C.)
Hinsdale (Ill.) Central K Micah Drescher (No. 4 K, Chris Sailer Kicking)
Phoenix (Ariz.) Sandra Day O'Connor five-star LS Colton Dermer (No. 6 LS)
With the two Friday commitments of Lee and linebacker Markel Dabney, Michigan football has moved up from No. 18 to No. 11 in the 247Sports team rankings.
Lee is the third offensive lineman to join the class, with Bear McWhorter and Marky Walbridge already being in the fold. The only remaining target that Michigan has a strong likelihood with is Fort Worth (Tx.) North Crowley four-star OL John Turntine III.

Oregon Ducks 5-star commit draws Ken Griffey Jr. comparison after OT7 showing
Led by 247Sports Alpha Dog, 5-star safety and @oregonfootball commit @JettWash ...@TomLoy247 and @BrandonHuffman look at how things played out during Day 2 of @overtime's OT7 Finals.- Biggest Takeaways- Other Top PerformersVIP Story: The Oregon Ducks scored a major recruiting win in June, landing 5-star safety Jett Washington, the No. 18 player in the 2026 class. Washington is the highest-ranked safety the Ducks have ever had committed, and he is certainly living up to the hype so far this summer, with an impressive showing this past weekend at the OT7 camp. With a long list of the top-ranked players in the nation getting together for the elite 7-on-7 camp, Washington is standing out, being named the "Alpha Dog" for 247Sports on Saturday. With multiple interceptions, Washington is drawing comparisons to Ken Griffey Jr. in his prime, mainly for his ability to patrol the secondary — or centerfield, in Griffey's case — and make tough plays look easy. "The way he breaks on the ball, the way he takes away his entire side of the field, we were talking over the on the sideline, it's kind of like watching Ken Griffey (Jr.) in his prime, patrolling the center field," 247Sports' Brandon Huffman said. "That's what Jett Washington looks like in that back-half. ... Jett looks like a million bucks out there, but he plays like it too." The commitment from Washington is huge for Dan Lanning and his team, who now have back-to-back years of bringing in a 5-star safety, with Trey McNutt coming as a member of the 2025 class. While we are still months away from signing day, it appears that Washington is locked in with the Ducks, and it will be fun to watch how he performs and rises over the next several months before putting pen to paper with Oregon in December. Nebraska football recruit Devin Jackson to announce commitment on July 3
A four-star defensive back has set his commitment date. Devin Jackson will make the official announcement on Thursday, July 3, at 11:00 a.m. CT in his hometown of Winter Garden, FL. Jackson will decide among five finalists: Nebraska, Florida, LSU, Miami, and Oregon. He initially committed to Florida in July 2024 before he decommitted in mid-April, becoming the second defensive back in the 2026 class to do so after position coach Will Harris left Florida to join Miami. Advertisement Jackson is listed as the No. 14-ranked safety and the No. 19-ranked prospect in the state of Florida according to the On3 recruiting ratings. Nebraska's class of 2026 holds nine commitments and is ranked No. 52 nationally and No. 18 in the Big Ten. The highest-ranked recruit in the class is cornerback Danny Odem out of Orlando, FL. Jackson would be the second defensive back and the second-highest-ranked recruit should he commit to the Huskers on July 3. Nebraska appears to be facing an uphill battle for the prospect as Oregon is viewed as the frontrunner, with his former team in Florida also still very much in the running. Auburn target Nolan Wilson to make decision soon
The Auburn Tigers could gain a commitment from a four-star defensive lineman as early as next week. Sam Spiegelman of Rivals reported on Friday that four-star defensive lineman Nolan Wilson could make his announcement of which school he will be attending next week. Wilson is from Picayune, Mississippi where he plays high school football for Picayune Memorial High School. Outside of Auburn he has strong interest from Alabama, Florida, Miami, and Ole Miss. Advertisement Wilson is a prospect for the 2026 recruiting class, and a commitment to the Tigers would bolster Auburn's ranking. The Tigers have dropped over the past few weeks due to players pulling their commitments to go elsewhere. Wilson is the No. 4 player in Mississippi and ranked nationally at No. 99 by 247Sports. He is the No. 15 defensive lineman for the 2026 class as well. Auburn currently ranks No. 78 according to 247Sports with seven commits for 2026. The Tigers currently do not have a defensive lineman committed to the class. Hugh Freeze and staff saw the defensive line as a position of need following the 2024 season. The Tigers signed four players to the 2024 recruiting class and added three more in the transfer portal. They will need to continue to add to that position for future seasons. It will be important for Auburn fans to keep an eye on the commitment of Wilson. Tigers' fans have become concerned about where Auburn is with its recruiting for 2026. Adding Wilson will ease some of the nervousness on the Plains.
