All the budget-friendly bikes and scooters in the 100-125cc range, which constitute the majority of two-wheeler sales in India, may see a price increase, depending on the hardware upgrades required for compliance, such as the addition of front disc brakes and ABS systems.The ministry is expected to release detailed implementation guidelines and technical standards soon to ensure a smooth rollout of the new rules. Bajaj Auto has rolled out the refreshed 2025 Dominar lineup in India, introducing electronic and ergonomic updates, the new Dominar 400 is priced at Rs 2,38,682, while the Dominar 250 comes in at Rs 1,91,654 (both ex-showroom, Delhi).The headline upgrade for the 2025 Dominar 400 is the addition of Ride-by-Wire technology, enabling four selectable riding modes: Road, Rain, Sport, and Off-Road, which adjust throttle response and ABS intervention for varied riding conditions. The Dominar 400 continues to draw power from its 373cc, liquid-cooled single-cylinder engine producing 40bhp and 35Nm, while the Dominar 250 uses a 248.8cc single-cylinder motor delivering 27bhp and 23.5Nm. Toll rates on national highways with bridges, tunnels cut by up to 50 pc
The government has reduced toll rates by up to 50 per cent for sections of National Highways that have tunnels, bridges, flyovers elevated stretches. The move is set to lower travelling cost for motorists. Currently, user charges at toll fee plazas are collected as per NH Fee Rules, 2008. The Ministry of Road Transport and Highways has made amendment to 2008 rules and notified a new method or formula for calculating toll charges. "The rate of fee for use of a section of national highway comprising of structure or structures shall be calculated by adding ten times the length of structure or structures to the length of the section of national highway excluding the length of structure or structures, or five times the total length of section of national highway, whichever is lesser," said the notification dated July 2, 2025.
