When a pet owner decided to bring home a new kitten to keep her lonely cat company, she never expected the emotional roller coaster that followed.
In a viral TikTok video shared on Sunday under the username @wallkittys, the adult cat, Morty, sits at a distance watching the new kitten play, with a miserable expression on his face. He doesn't engage in play at all, but just looks at him with sadness.
"I got my cat a cat but he looks sadder than ever," reads layover text in the clip. "I got him FOR YOU!" the poster continues in the caption.
But then, right when she thought she made the wrong decision, the unexpected happened.
In a video update shared on Thursday, the two felines can be seen cuddling, playing together, and doing everything the poster was hoping for when she brought the still-nameless kitten home to her cat.
When your cat feels lonely and needs a companion to spend their days with, they will show signs, according to Pet MD.
These signs include excessive clinginess, changes in their eating and sleeping habits, unusually destructive behavior, litter-box issues, and a shift in overall energy.
If you decide to introduce a new cat into your home, it is important that you do it in a way that doesn't create animosity between them. Give your felines space at the start, keeping the new kitten in a separate room.
The cats' introduction should start with scent swapping, rubbing the kitten with a small cloth to collect scent, then letting your older cat smell it. Rewarding them for any positive or neutral response is crucial at this stage.
Once they are comfortable with the smell, you can introduce them face to face, strictly under your supervision. Do not let them interact alone until you are completely sure that they are happy with each other.
You can read more about how to introduce a kitten to your new cat here.

The video quickly went viral on social media and has so far received over 4.2 million views and more than 734,000 likes on the platform.
One user, Autumn, commented: "Give him some extra attention. he might think you're replacing him. we gave our cats extra attention when we got a kitten to cheer them up."
Syd wrote: "I was sad, now I'm depressed."
Alice added: "He probably thinks you are replacing him cause he was acting sad."

The limited edition 'Meal of Misfortune,' inspired by Wednesday Addams. Wendy's The Context Season 1 of Wednesday, released in 2022 and starring Jenna Ortega, was Netflix's most watched English-language TV show with 252.1 million viewers according to Netflix's companion site, Tudum. The company is rolling out several new meals and initiatives this year, including the "Meal of Misfortune," a "100 Days of Summer" program, and a collaboration with Takis snacks. What Is in Wendy's 'Meal of Misfortune'? A press release from Wendy's says that the meal was "designed by Wednesday Addams." The "Meal of Misfortune" centers on four new mystery "Dips of Dread"— You Can't Hyde, This Will Sting, Grave Mistake, and Nowhere to Woe. Each meal comes with two randomly selected sauces. The bundle includes "Rest in 10-Piece" Nuggets, small "Cursed & Crispy" Fries, and the debut of the "Raven's Blood" Frosty, a vanilla Frosty with a dark cherry swirl. The press release states that people will have to buy multiple meals in order to try all four sauces. The meal will be available through restaurants and the Wendy's app in the U.S. from August 4, followed by releases in Canada starting August 11 as well as in Puerto Rico, the Bahamas, and Guam. Wendy's has not specified an end date for the promotion. Who Is Wednesday Addams? Wednesday Addams is a gothic child who first appeared in American popular culture in 1938 as a member of the Addams family, a cartoon family invented by artist Charles Addams for The New Yorker. The Addams family was then turned into a sitcom in 1964, and has had its stories rebooted in several films and TV shows since. Wednesday is the latest iteration of Addams family lore. It focuses on Wednesday's teenage school years at Nevermore Academy, a fictional school for outcast and quirky children. What People Are Saying Liz Geraghty, international chief marketing officer for The Wendy's Company, said in a press release: "This isn't a typical collaboration, because not just any brand could scheme up a Meal of Misfortune with Wednesday Addams. But for a brand that's proudly customer-obsessed and unapologetically bold, it was a match made in dark, dry-witted heaven." The character of Wednesday Addams was quoted in the press release, saying: "Normally I'd be against this kind of capitalistic corporate synergy, but when the fast-food-slinging pigtailed provocateur said I could do whatever I wanted to her customers, I couldn't resist." What Happens Next The first half of Wednesday Season 2 airs on Netflix on August 6. Wednesday has already been renewed for a third season.

The Bandana Hair Trend Every Celeb Is Wearing—Summer Hair 2025

Every hair accessory has its moment. First, it was bows, then it was stretchy headbands à la 2004, then we saw all those fun claw clips. But now? We're fully back in our bandana era. Picture yourself riding in a convertible down the French countryside with a chic bandana tied around your head. That's the energy we're channeling for summer 2025. "I just got back from Paris and every store was stocked with rows upon rows of scarves in every color, fabric, and print you could imagine," says Cosmo beauty editor Beth Gillette. "I have to assume they've been collecting this many scarves just for this moment in beauty trend history." And if it's Euro summer approved, it's a trend I'm all for. The beauty of the accessory lies in its versatility—celebs like Gracie Abrams and Hailey Bieber have been rocking bandana hairstyles as of late. Even the Cosmo beauty team has been using them to cover a third-day blowout or elevate beach hair. There's truly no wrong way to bandana. Ahead, we've rounded up all the cutest bandana inspo. Plus, the best bandanas to shop now and how to style them. Gracie's bandana is the second most important part of this photo. It's almost like we manifested this trend with our Doechii summer cover shoot... Hailey Bieber wearing a bandana on a boat in Europe is the vibe I'm going for. This cherry headscarf is just so chic. Chappell's using this plaid bandana to tie back her voluminous curls is so simple yet so stylish. Okay, while I don't look half as cool as Doechii or Hailey Bieber in a bandana, it still works. It's simple, low-effort, and super cute. "I saw girls all over Paris with headscarves in their hair," says Gillette. "It's such a chic way to disguise second-day grease." Bandanas have been worn for decades, but there are still so many fresh ways to style them with any type of outfit. Fold one in half into a triangle and wrap it around the back of your head for that effortlessly cool look, or knot it under your chin to go full vintage. You can also place it over the top of your head and secure it at the back, leaving the rest of your hair down and loose. Try rolling it up and tying it around the nape of your neck to wear it like a headband. I've even seen fashion girlies fold them in half and wear them around the waist in a sarong-esque style. Honestly, there's no wrong way to wear one. Jasmine Hyman is the assistant beauty editor at Cosmopolitan, where she writes about all the biggest beauty trends out there. For this story, she spotted the trend on celebs and then spent weeks styling and trying bandanas. She also tapped beauty editor Beth Gillette for her insight.
