Emirates served 60 million luxury chocolates last year
A piece of artisan chocolate is part of the airline's meal offering in every class on all Emirates flights.
To mark World Chocolate Day on Monday July 7, Dubai's biggest airline has shared some interesting details about every sweet tooth's favourite treat.
In Economy Class, 36.6 million chocolates were gobbled on-board in 2023. While in the newly launched Premium Economy Class, 1.06 million chocolates were consumed. Business Class customers tried 9.1 million treats.

And those lucky passengers in first class have access to an unlimited supply of chocolates and are able to take away a box of their favourite flavours. Some 122,000 large gourmet boxes were scoffed last year in first class – approximately 13.4 million individual choccies .
Where are Emirates chocolates from?
Chocolates are serious business for Emirates, with the flavours rotating every six months so that frequent flyers get a taste of something different as the seasons change.
The sweet treats are selected from the most renowned producers globally with current brands including Coco Jalila from the UAE, French chocolatier Valrhona joining Belgian brands Canonica and Neuhaus on board.
As part of this regular rotation of choccies, Emirates curates bites from some of the world's most renowned chocolate producers.
While the quality of the bites goes without saying, these brands have been selected for a variety of reasons including taste and texture, brand recognition, current trends and sustainable sourcing.
There's a little something for every taste with a variety of dark, milk and white chocolate chosen with various praline, truffle, ganache or even fruit fillings available.

Football fans 'bitterly disappointed' to miss Wales' historic moment as Switzerland flight cancelled
Fans heading to Switzerland to cheer on Wales were left bitterly disappointed when their flight was cancelled moments before take-off. Jack Cresci is missing the historic chance to see Wales in Euro 2025 due to the travel disruption and has hit out after being 'completely abandoned' by British Airways. He and his friends instead faced a 'bleak and disappointing' walk through Cardiff at 4am after the 270-round trip to and from Heathrow Airport. He told ITV Wales: 'Unfortunately our flight got cancelled on the tarmac at Heathrow due to a technical issue with the plane. 'We were told initially they had to wait for a headset to be on board which took about half an hour and then after that we were told there was a technical issue - which even when the engineers got on board, they were unfortunately not able to fix - so we weren't able to fly that night.' The Wales fans were told there would be a British Airways team waiting for them to chat through alternative options to travel to Switzerland but they say no-one could be seen. 'We were pretty much completely abandoned,' Jack said. 'Every time we checked the website, there was just absolutely nothing on Switzerland. 'So unfortunately, we've missed a historic moment really for Welsh football and seeing us play at the Euros, which is just really, really, disappointing.' British Airways offered Jack a hotel to stay overnight but he says the only options presented were 2-3 hours away from the airport, calling it 'just ridiculous'. 'It hit home at that point, we were going to be missing everything. By the time we got back to Cardiff, it was 4am. We had to walk home then through the dark streets of Cardiff - it was just quite bleak and disappointing, to be honest.' Jack is hoping for a refund from British Airways but hasn't heard back, he says. 'It was really, really frustrating especially because we're now missing such a historic moment because of it.' British Airways have been approached for a response. It isn't the only airline leaving passengers grounded as both Ryanair and easyJet cancelled hundreds of flights due to French air traffic control strikes. Thousands had their travel plans disrupted as Ryanair said it was forced to make 170 cancellations on Thursday and Friday. Strike action affected flights to and from France – and also flights over the country to destinations such as the UK, Greece, Spain and Ireland – impacting more than 30,000 passengers. EasyJet said it had cancelled 124 flights today and was scrapping 150 tomorrow due to the industrial action.

Octopus Energy launches live windfarm constraint costs tracker
The company is urging ministers to support the introduction of zonal pricing, which would split the UK into price regions based on local supply and demand. Octopus Energy has said repeatedly that such a system could mean Scots benefit from some of the lowest energy prices in Europe. But the UK Government has said it will not split the country's energy market into regions if it raises people's bills in some areas. It in unclear when a decsion will be made. At the moment, Britain has one national energy price even though at any point in the day the cost of producing electricity differs radically around the country. If an offshore wind farm in Scotland produces more electricity than the network can handle it is paid to turn off, or "constrained", and a gas-fired power plant in the south of England is paid to turn on. As a result, the effective cost of electricity it does generate is four times higher than it should be. The constraint costs – which are collected from consumers – are huge. The ticker reveals, in real time, how much bill payers' money is spent to turn off as systems that can't keep up with the power generated. Constraint costs are on track to cost the UK a staggering £8 billion a year by 2030. This year, the UK has already paid £650 million to turn off wind farms – more than £200m more than the same time last year. Soon, figures and information on current constraint costs will be added to the 7.5m bills sent every month and will feature in its app, used by 500,000 people daily. Disneyland Paris has iconic rides, attractions and plenty of fun for the whole family - but there's one little-known pass that could help you skip the queue Disneyland Paris is on most families' bucket lists thanks to its iconic rides (Peter Pan or It's A Small World, anyone?), incredible fireworks shows and of course those all-important character meet and greets. There are ways you can cut down wait times for example by buying fast passes - dubbed Premier Access - but if you're on a tight budget these aren't always the way to go. However, there's one little-known Disneyland Pass that not only lets you skip the queues for rides and characters, but also gets you easier access to some of the best spots for seeing the fireworks shows and parades. Dubbed the 'Bambi pass' by those in the know, it's completely FREE of charge. Another perk? Those who hold it can bring up to FOUR people along to the front of the queue too. The only catch? You'll need to be pregnant if you want to use it. The 'Pregnant Woman bracelet' (we prefer the name Bambi Pass) is a band that you can collect at the information desks, and they'll give you Priority Access to the majority of what the parks have to offer. The pass isn't actually a secret - in fact, if you know where to look you can find all the details on the Disneyland Paris website. However, it's one that often gets overlooked by expectant mums who just assume they can't join in on the fun. Not only can they join in the fun, but they can bring their family with them - four people on rides, and two for shows or parade viewing spots. Of course it's worth noting that there are some rides which you won't be able to go on if you're pregnant, so if you are thinking of going, it's worth checking the theme park website to check exactly which rides and attractions you'd want to do, to avoid disappointment. Still, it could prove useful if you're thinking of taking your toddlers or older kids to Disneyland before their new sibling arrives - and means you can all still enjoy the bulk of the magic together.
