Nagpur: A 30-year-old man has been arrested and remanded in judicial custody for allegedly stalking and molesting a former acquaintance after their relationship soured. The accused, identified as Jitendra alias Vicky Ramashankar Chaudhary, a resident of Babulban, Garoba Maidan in Lakadganj, was arrested by Lakadganj police following a complaint filed by a 26-year-old woman.

According to police, the woman, who resides within Wathoda Police Station limits, had earlier developed a friendship with the accused due to work-related reasons. However, after noticing signs of mistrust and controlling behaviour, she ended all contact with him.
On the evening of June 21, while returning home from her job near Shahpur Chowk, the complainant was allegedly followed by Jitendra, who approached her on a two-wheeler.
He confronted her about avoiding him and, when she attempted to leave, allegedly abused her, slapped her, and made obscene remarks, leaving her deeply shaken.
The woman approached the police the same day and filed a formal complaint. Acting swiftly, Lakadganj police arrested the accused and booked him under relevant sections of the Bharatiya Nyaya Sanhita (BNS), including Sections 74, 75, 78, 115, 296, 351(3), and 352, which pertain to offences such as molestation, stalking, and criminal intimidation.
Officials confirmed that the accused has been sent to judicial custody.

Investigation has so far revealed that Ali was living for over two decades near the Brahmdev Maharaj temple complex. Someone recorded a video of him offering a prayer supposedly near a tree inside the premises and shared it online." Based on the clip, police have lodged an FIR and sent him to prison. The man's "provocative" action has angered a large section of the local population of the other community, police said. Patna: A joint team of Bihar STF and police from Darbhanga late on Saturday night arrested a notorious criminal, Noor Mohammad alias Lalbabu and his two accomplices, who demanded an extortion of Rs 2 crore from a doctor at Phulwarisharif in Patna district. Lalbabu, a resident of Lahiarchak Alampur locality under Phulwarisharif police station area and his associate, Mohd Farhan, a resident of Ishpur, Patna, were arrested from Darbhanga. The STF officials said a case was registered at University (Darbhanga) police station, and further action is being taken. Police recovered a pistol, six live cartridges, a magazine, Rs 2,50,000 in cash, and four cellphones from the accused's possession. Based on the information provided by the arrested criminals, Mohd Saif was arrested from his home with illegal firearms from Phulwarisharif police station area in Patna. A case was registered in this regard in Phulwarisharif police station area. Police recovered a country-made pistol, five live cartridges, a magazine, and a cellphone from his possession. On June 28, the three criminals threatened to kill a doctor at a private hospital in Phulwarisharif unless he paid Rs 2 crore. A case was registered under Sections 308(3)/308(4) BNS at Phulwarisharif police station, leading to their swift arrest by the special teams. Cases of extortion and Arms Act violations were earlier filed against Lalbabu in various police stations in Patna and Darbhanga.

Railway personnel chased the woman for some distance until she eventually steered the car off the tracks, crashing into nearby trees and coming to a halt. In the video clip, the woman was seen driving a Kia Sonet on the railway tracks. Sri Anjaneyulu, Head Constable of the local police at Shankarpalli, along with his staff, reached the spot, took the woman into custody, and brought her to the Shankarpalli Police Station. 'She was fired from the job and her car was on loan. She left her bag somewhere else and wrote with marker pen that it's not suicide, but murder," sources said. She holds a postgraduate degree in Biotechnology and has been unemployed for the past eight months. 'NO SUSPICION OF SABOTAGE' There is currently no suspicion of sabotage. The matter remains under investigation by GRP/Vikarabad. The Government Railway Police (GRP), Vikarabad, upon receiving a written complaint from SSE/ registered a case vide Cr. No. 102/2025 under Sections 126, 292, 351 of the Bharatiya Nyaya Sanhita (BNS) and Section 153 of the Railways Act and took up further investigation. The woman was produced before a doctor of Osmania hospital by the GRP/Vikarabad. After examination, the doctor referred her to the Government Mental Health Centre, Erragadda. Accordingly, the IRP Line and staff escorted her to the said hospital.
