Teacher banned from the classroom after having sex with colleague in art room during school day
Liyarna Beamish, 39, had taught at Ribston Hall High School since 2016 and had engaged in an affair with a fellow teacher for two years before it was uncovered last summer.
The school was contacted by a third-party on 26 June 2024, who informed them that Ms Beamish had been engaging in sexual intercourse during school hours.
They were also shown screenshots of messages sent between the two teachers, which were sexual in nature and had been sent during the working day.
During an investigatory meeting, she admitted having sex on school premises, and confirmed messages on WhatsApp showed the two organising their liaisons.
When asked on how many occasions had this occurred, she replied: 'Couple of years - multiple occasions'.
She also responded that they had engaged in sexual intercourse in the 'art room, and two art cupboards, both doors locked, downstairs door locked as well'.
Having been referred to the TRA, the panel concluded that her behaviour had been 'sexually motivated' and that her behaviour had fallen 'very far short of the standard of behaviour' that was required in the profession.
It was also found that she had shown 'limited evidence of insight and/or remorse'.
The report concluded: 'For these reasons, the panel was satisfied that the conduct of Ms Beamish amounted to misconduct of a serious nature which fell significantly short of the standards expected of the profession. Accordingly, the panel was satisfied that Ms Beamish was guilty of unacceptable professional conduct.'
She has now been banned from teaching indefinitely in any educational institution, but can apply for the prohibition order to be removed in two years.

Hunt for vehicle after campervan driver taken to hospital following crash
A campervan driver has been taken to hospital following a collision on the A9. The crash occurred between Calvine and Dalnamein on Wednesday evening around 6.10pm and involved a white Volkswagen campervan and vehicle described as gold or silver. The 36-year-old female campervan driver was taken to Ninewells Hospital in Dundee following the collision. The second vehicle left the scene before police arrived. The road was closed to allow for enquiries to be carried out and re-opened around 7.30pm. Constable Mathew Ross, Perth Roads Policing said: 'Our enquiries are ongoing to establish the circumstances and I am appealing for anyone who was in the area and witnessed the crash to contact us. 'I would also ask anyone who was on the road around the time and who may have dash cam footage which could assist to get in touch.' Police issue fresh statement after two British children drown at Spanish beach
The children were swept away from the beach by powerful currents. Police have released a new statement after two British children drowned off a beach on Spain's north-eastern coastline. The brother and sister, aged 11 and 13, were dragged away from the shore by fierce currents at Llarga beach in Salou on Tuesday night. Emergency services were called at 8.45pm according to Catalonia's Civil Protection agency. The children were pulled from the water but despite medical attention were pronounced dead at the scene. The children's father, who had also gone into the water, was pulled to safety alive by rescue teams. He was taken to hospital. Local police, paramedics and fire crews all responded to the incident, with a team of psychologists also deployed to provide support to the bereaved family. Catalonia's Civil Protection agency initially stated that two brothers had perished, but in an updated statement on Wednesday, Jose Luis Gargallo, chief of Salou's local police force, clarified it was a brother and sister. During a press conference on Wednesday, Mr Gargallo told journalists: "There were three people who were having serious difficulty getting out of the sea. "There was a father with his son and daughter, of British nationality. "When they got out, both of them, the boy and girl, aged 11 and 13, showed no signs of life. "Attempts were made to resuscitate them with CPR, but they were unsuccessful. "The father, fortunately, was able to be saved. Man dies after being run over by his wife in car park
David Charles Seymour Chivers and his wife, Elaine Valentine, had travelled to Priorswell Road car park in Worksop, Nottinghamshire. In a heart-wrenching incident, a man lost his life after being struck by his wife's car in what has been treated as a "tragic accident". David Charles Seymour Chivers, aged 72, along with his wife Elaine Valentine, had made their way to Priorswell Road car park in Worksop, Nottinghamshire, on September 12, 2024. The couple was there to arrange details for an event at Bracebridge Recreation Ground that they were organising for the subsequent week. However, upon their arrival at the car park, Mr Chivers stepped out of the vehicle to try and remove a height barrier at the rear of the car park, which led to the recreation ground, as was disclosed at an inquest into his death held at Nottingham Coroner's Court. Initially, both Mr Chivers and Ms Valentine, who was present at the inquest, stood beside the barrier, but then Ms Valentine moved to the driver's seat, according to Nottinghamshire Live. While Ms Valentine took her position in the car, Mr Chivers continued his attempts to unlock the padlock, which was positioned too high for easy access, coroner Sarah Wood noted. Mr Chivers was next to the driver's side of the car, with the door open, when the automatic Vauxhall Insignia unexpectedly reversed, causing him to fall and subsequently be "suddenly run over". The post-mortem examination revealed that Mr Chivers succumbed to a head injury, suffering severe brain trauma that was deemed "incompatible with life". Coroner Wood recorded the death as accidental, stating: "Mr Chivers died of a head injury he sustained when the vehicle reversed, causing him to fall to the ground and suddenly ran over him. "He placed himself in a vulnerable position and when Ms Valentine pressed the accelerator, the vehicle reacted abruptly and caused a sudden increase in speed. "What happened next was a tragic event and I find it is more likely than not that Ms Valentine panicked in an attempt to move the car away from Mr Chivers. Due to the vehicle being in reverse, this led to the vehicle moving towards him and suddenly running over him, causing the head injury, which was his cause of death. "This was a tragic accident which I'm sure Ms Valentine is very unlikely to recover from." After the incident, emergency services were summoned by a bystander, but tragically, Mr Chivers was declared deceased at the scene. PC Philip Broughton from Nottinghamshire Police commented that the emergency call came just after 10.50am and suggested that Ms Valentine may have experienced "sudden acceleration syndrome". This phenomenon occurs when a motorist mistakenly hits the accelerator instead of the brake, leading to a state of panic and disarray.
