Fears fisherman has walked off with five hand grenades
The 'volatile' weapons were discovered near a canal in Hopwood, Birmingham.
Two of the grenades were safely detonated, but a man in his 50s with grey hair is thought to have left with the rest of them.
The man, who was wearing green trousers, is thought to have found the weaponry which witnesses say he found while magnet fishing.
Members of the public have been warned to keep their distance if they spot the bombs and call 999 immediately.
Pictures of the two recovered grenades show how the weapons can easily be concealed and go unnoticed if discarded in undergrowth.
The grenades were discovered at around 6pm on Friday June 20.
A search to locate the remaining unexploded ordnances continued into Saturday June 21.
Inspector Richard Field said: 'I can reassure that person they're not in any trouble with police.
'My primary objective is to recover the hand grenades and to make them safe.'
A spokesperson for West Mercia Police said: 'We continue to urge the man that found the grenades to contact us so that they can be safely recovered.
'He may not be aware of the significant safety risk they pose.'
Thousands of unexploded ordnances or UXOs are discovered every year, including washed up on beaches, in gardens, on construction sites and in bodies of water.
Weapons contain compounds that become more sensitive as they age, according to risk mitigation company 1st Line Defence.
They also pose environmental risks if left untouched for a significant length of time, such as ground contamination.
Members of the public who encounter UXOs should not touch or disturb them but call police.

‘Mum stabs her three children killing one and sets home on fire'
A mother allegedly stabbed three of her children, killing one of them, and then set their home on fire on the morning of the Fourth of July. Murder police searching for missing man find someone else's body
Police have launched a second murder investigation in Cornwall after discovering another body while hunting for a man feared dead. Officers visited a home in Sticker, a village near St Austell, as part of a missing person investigation. They arrested a 39-year-old man from Sticker on suspicion of fraud and of murder, as well as a woman in her 30s on suspicion of murder. While searching for the man on Tuesday, officers were called to woodland between Truro and Probus, roughly 10 miles away from Sticker. The body of a man in his 40s had been discovered. But after formal identification was carried out, the body was not that of the missing person, who still hasn't been found. The force is treating the man's death as suspicious. Detective Superintendent Jon Bancroft said the separate murder investigations are not linked. He said: 'Detectives from the major crime investigation team will be considering all possible lines of inquiry and members of the public should be reassured every available resource is being utilised to do so.' Detective Inspector Neil Blanchard added: 'We appreciate how the unique circumstances surrounding these investigations may be causing the public concern. 'The discovery of a body, the day after a male suspect was arrested, has proven to be unrelated to the initial missing person investigation.' A woman in her 30s from Newquay was also arrested on suspicion of murder on Wednesday after the body was discovered. The pair arrested earlier in the week remain in custody. Cyclist caught riding 'no-handed' fumes at City of London police officer
A barrister accused of cycling no-handed through central London told police they should be catching 'robbers' instead of fining him. Paul Powlesland posted a video of the encounter with the City of London officer after he was accused of 'careless and inconsiderate cycling'. In the clip, she said he was riding with 'his arms stretched out wide and off the handlebars during rush hour' on March 5. He then approached the officer on April 2 in Queen Victoria Street and filmed the video, before posting the footage on Thursday. In the clip, the barrister slammed the officer's decision, claiming that riding no-handed was not an offence. He said: 'So anyone cycling no-handed in rush hour is going to get ticketed?' The officer replied: 'If I see them, yes.' Paul then accused the officer of wasting police resources and claimed bike theft was 'endemic', adding: 'You don't even investigate most bike theft. There's phone snatching going on – you could be getting robbers. 'You're letting phone snatchers and bike thieves go to ticket law-abiding citizens cycling no-handed. 'Do you honestly think that's a good use of City of London Police time?' The officer said: 'Cycling with no hands on the handlebars places others at risk and contravenes Article 2 of the Human Rights Act,' adding: 'It endangers people on the road.' In a post on X Mr Powlesland insisted he was in the right.. 'I recently got stopped & ticketed by the City of London Police for, & I kid you not, 'cycling no handed',' he wrote. 'Even though it's clearly not an offence, the officer said they were ticketing me under the Human Rights Act as I was infringing other people's Article 2 'Right to Life', in case I fell off & injured them: utterly bonkers stuff.' A spokesperson for City of London Police told Metro that during the 'small clip of a longer interaction…the Human Rights Act was mentioned' but that Paul was penalised under Section 29 of the Road Traffic Act 1988, for 'careless and inconsiderate cycling'. They said that a ticket was processed on May 19, adding: 'Should the cyclist contest the ticket, officers will attend court and present any relevant evidence that we have obtained.'
