Trump told he might be nominated for Nobel Peace Prize by world leader
To view this video please enable JavaScript, and consider upgrading to a web browser that supports HTML5 video Donald Trump was told by a reporter that he might be nominated for one of the world's most prestigious prizes after his help in brokering a peace deal. The Democratic Republic of Congo and Rwanda have signed a peace deal facilitated by the US to help end the decades-long fighting, which has killed over 6,000,000 people. The agreement, signed on Friday, was lauded by Trump as a 'big day for the world, as Secretary of State Marco Rubio signified how important it was after 30 years of war. The deal, signed by the foreign ministers of the two countries, will also help the US government and American companies gain access to critical minerals needed for much of the world's technology. 'President Félix Tshisekedi is thinking of nominating you for the Nobel Peace Prize. You deserve it,' a reporter told Trump in the White House. 'You have been working to bring peace in the world, not only in the Congo, and he's very hopeful to meet you in the future,' she added. 'Tshisekedi told me that for many years, American presidents have overlooked this conflict. They didn't do anything.' Do you think Trump should be nominated for the Nobel Peace Prize? The fighting between Rwanda and the DRC has been going on for more than 30 years. The tensions began shortly after the Rwandan genocide in 1994, which saw Hutu extremists murder more than 800,000 Tutsis. After the government which allowed the genocide was overthrown, the Hutu extremists fled to the DRC, which borders Rwanda. The dense jungle and lack of government in the rural area allowed the extremist group to hide among civilians and continue their onslaught against Rwanda, leading to multiple wars that have lasted until today. Millions have been killed and millions of others displaced as armed groups took over areas of the DRC. The DRC is known for its mines of cobalt, which is vital for tech, making this conflict even more heightened, as other countries bid to get the natural resources. Official details of the agreement aren't known, but earlier drafts have given an insight into key details of the peace agreement. More Trending Each side would have to respect the other's territory and stop hostilities towards one another. They would also disarm and return refugees and displaced persons to their homes. But the elephant in the room is the minerals across the DRC, which Trump said the US was getting 'a lot of rights to'. The DRC previously offered a deal which would trade some of their precious minerals for a security guarantee, and it appears this might have gone ahead. We'll know more in the coming days, but for now, it appears the two countries have agreed to a historic peace deal. TikTok star's body found dismembered in bags at water treatment plant
The body of a teenage TikTok star was found cut up into pieces and put in bags at a water treatment plant. Staff discovered Fabiola Alejandra Caicedo Piña's remains and identified them thanks to her distinctive tattoos. She had been missing since June 7, posting her final video on the platform where she was known as 'China Baby' on June 5. Fabiola often posted videos of herself posing and dancing before the 19-year-old went missing. Fabiola's remains were found in the El Agustino district of Lima, Peru, on June 9. Police say she may have been strangled before being dismembered. Police are investigating to see if the crime was committed by the family or the close circle of her ex-boyfriend, who died in 2022 in unclear circumstances. Fabiola – originally from Barquisimeto, Venezuela – left her country in 2022, when she was 16. Her then-boyfriend accompanied her, Mayner Yoffrey Giménez Castrillo, was 21 years older than her. Their journey, according to Fabiola's family, was voluntary but illegal. Once in Lima, they lived together in a rental flat in the Huaycán district, where, months later, Mayner was found dead. His death was ruled a suicide, but his family never believed this version. They accused Fabiola and an alleged lover of Mayner's death, but Fabiola was never the centre of any investigation. Some reports say the area where she worked in Peru was controlled by Venezuelan mafiosi, who had threatened to make her 'pay' for Mayner's death. Police believe that on the night before her death, she was lured away from a party under false pretences. More Trending Some reports say she was tortured – with cigarette burns on her legs and feet – before being killed. Her remains were allegedly dumped into the Rímac River and ended up at the water treatment plant. Detectives are still reviewing CCTV footage and gathering statements from those who knew Fabiola. There have been no arrests yet, but local media say key breakthroughs are expected in the coming days. Boy, 2, fighting for his life after being stung by wasps 150 times
A toddler who was riding his toy car and hit a wasps nest was stung more than 150 times and is fighting for his life. Two-year-old Beckham Reed, who was born with one kidney, suffered the 'horrific accident' while playing in his backyard in Georgia. 'He was on his electric toy side by side riding around his property with his cousins,' states a GoFundMe page to support him and his family. 'He hit a yellow jackets nest and was swarmed head to toe.' His parents rushed him to a hospital, where he was given morphine and Benadryl and sent home after finding him appearing to breathe normally. But less than 24 hours later, Beckham started turning yellow and his parents rushed him to the emergency room at Southeast Georgia Health System in Brunswick. Doctors there recognized that Beckham was having multi-organ failure, including his kidney, heart and liver, and transferred him to an intensive care unit at Memorial Savannah, where he was put on dialysis, ventilator support and given IV medications to filter out toxins. 'Due to his age and size and the amount of stings he had, his little body was unable to handle the amount of toxins in his body,' states the fundraising page. More Trending 'His body is responding to the support and we continue to pray that his labs and organs improve.' It added that Beckham's medical experience was not common. 'There is no antivenom for yellow jackets so all they can do is support his body while the toxins work their way out,' the page states. The GoFundMe page had raised more than $36,000 as of Friday evening. Get in touch with our news team by emailing us at webnews@ For more stories like this, check our news page. Trump says it 'will only get worse' for Iran and rips 'so-called' Supreme Leader
President Donald Trump blasted Iran's 'so-called' supreme leader and said the country has no hope and will only see things get worse. 'Why would the so-called 'Supreme Leader,' Ayatollah Ali Khamenei, of the war torn Country of Iran, say so blatantly and foolishly that he won the War with Israel, when he knows his statement is a lie, it is not so,' wrote Trump on his Truth Social platform on Friday afternoon. 'As a man of great faith, he is not supposed to lie.' Got a story? Get in touch with our news team by emailing us at webnews@ Or you can submit your videos and pictures here.
