Devotees take holy dip at Sangam on auspicious Vaishakh Purnima
'I've come here from Lucknow for the Ganga snan. I make sure to take a holy dip in the Ganga every Vaishakh Purnima. After the snan, I did whatever charity I could at my end,' said Karunesh Pandey, one of the devotees at Prayagraj.
'Since today is Vaishakh Purnima, we have come to Prayagraj to take a sacred dip in the holy waters,' said a woman devotee.
'I am in Prayagraj today, and I believe that taking a dip in the holy Sangam brings blessings, fulfilling all your wishes, especially on Kartik Purnima. This is a land where good people come to do charity. My family and I took a dip, did charity, and received blessings from the panditji. We also performed a pooja. I feel so blessed and happy that I came here today,' said Poonam Goswami, a woman devotee from Uttar Pradesh.
'Yes, today I came to Sangam, and since today is Purnima, we came here to take a dip to mark the occasion. Now, I will be heading to the Hanuman Mandir,' stated Jaswani Singh, a male devotee at Sangam.
'Today is a very special day--the last day of Vaishakh. Taking a dip in the Ganga today is believed to give the full benefit of bathing the whole month. Even a small donation made today brings blessings. It feels good to do something with faith,' said Gopal, who took a holy dip at the Sangam.
Devotees believe that this sacred bath ensures peace in their lives and brings continued blessings from God. The significance of bathing in the Ganges on Vaishakh Purnima has attracted thousands of people to Prayagraj and Haridwar, where they also participate in charitable acts, pujas, and other rituals. British Royal Navy's F-35B fighter jet, parked at Thiruvananthapuram airport for 5 weeks, may leave soon
Grounded at Kerala's Thiruvananthapuram International Airport since 14 June, the British Royal Navy's F-35B may soon fly back, ANI reported. On Monday, the F-35B was seen being towed into a hangar at the airport. While there were reports it might depart the same day, the exact date of its departure has yet to be confirmed The report added that the F-35B fighter jet, en route from the UK to Australia, made an emergency landing in Kerala's Trivandrum following a hydraulic system fault. The jet's issues have been rectified, and NDTV reported that a final clearance has been given to fly on Tuesday. The F-35B fighter jet, part of the UK Navy aircraft carrier HMS Prince of Wales, was out on a routine sortie when it developed a snag and could not land on the ship. After the jet made an emergency landing at Thiruvananthapuram International Airport, the Indian Air Force provided all required support and assisted in the process, including refuelling. A technical team from the UK Royal Air Force arrived at Thiruvananthapuram International Airport on 5 July to repair the F-35 B jet; however, the fifth-generation stealth fighter aircraft was parked at the airport's bay for many days. Later, the jet was moved to Air India hangar where a team from the UK were brought to repair the fighter jet. Built by Lockheed Martin, F-35Bs are highly advanced stealth jets prized for their short take-off and vertical landing capabilities. After the F35B jet was parked on the tarmac and soaked by the Kerala monsoon rains, several images surfaced on social media, and people made memes out of them.
