Sanjay Dutt confirms 62-year-old woman left her entire Rs 72 crore property to him; reveals what he did with it

Fans often go to great lengths to express their love for their favourite stars. Recently, an old story about a female fan of Sanjay Dutt leaving her Rs 72 crore worth property to the actor after her passing in 2018 went viral. While many believed it to be fake news, Sanjay recently confirmed the story in an interaction. However, it's what he did with the property that is truly heartfelt and reflects the actor's real personality.
In an interaction with Curly Tales, Sanjay was asked if it was true that a female fan had left him property worth Rs 72 crore. The Khal Nayak star admitted it was true and said, 'It is true.' When asked what he did with the property, he said, 'I gave it back to the family.'
In 2018, Nisha Patil, a devoted fan of Sanjay Dutt, made headlines for leaving her entire property — worth a massive Rs 72 crore — to the actor. Nisha was a 62-year-old homemaker from Mumbai. She was reportedly suffering from a terminal illness and had informed her bank before her death to hand over all her assets to Sanjay Dutt after her passing.
Like Sanjay Dutt, Shah Rukh Khan too had once shared an incident involving a fan. In an earlier interaction, Shah Rukh recalled a story of a fan who breached the security of his residence, Mannat, and entered just to swim in his pool. He said, 'One night, a person entered the house, he took off his clothes, jumped into my swimming pool and swam. When the security guard caught him asking who he was, he said, 'I don't want anything. I just wanted to bath in Shah Rukh Khan's swimming pool.' I found that very endearing and amusing. When I was called down, I met and hugged him. He did not want any photo or autograph.'
Coming back to Sanjay Dutt, the actor made his debut in 1981 with Rocky. Over the years, he has delivered several cult classics including Vidhaata, Naam, Saajan, Khal Nayak, Vaastav, Munna Bhai M.B.B.S. and more. However, his career was also marred by controversy when he was arrested under the Terrorist and Disruptive Activities (Prevention) Act (TADA) for possessing illegal weapons linked to the 1993 Bombay blasts. He was convicted under the Arms Act and sentenced to five years in prison.

Dhadak Box Office Preview: Siddhant Chaturvedi and Triptii Dimri starrer run time, screen count, advance booking & opening day

After launching Janhvi Kapoor and Ishaan Khattar with Dhadak in 2018, Karan Johar is set for Dhadak 2 with two upcoming talents – Siddhant Chaturvedi and Triptii Dimri. The romantic saga releases on August 1, 2025 and much like the first part is an intense love story set against the backdrop of music. The Shazia Iqbal directorial has been certified U/A by the Central Board of Film Certification (CBFC) with an approved run time of 2 hours 26 minutes (146 minutes). The film is seeing an all-India release by Zee Studios in consultation with Dharma Productions, and the partners have strategically opted for a restrained release on about 1000 screens. The release is planned more towards the urban markets, with the hope of a surge over the weekend based on audience feedback. The advance bookings for Dhadak 2 opened on Wednesday evening, and the response has been on the expected lines. The film has sold about 15,000 tickets in the national chains as on Thursday at 7.00 PM and is headed for a closing in the vicinity of 25,000 tickets. The first day business of Dhadak 2 is expected to be in the range of Rs 3.75 crore to Rs 4.25 crore, and the hope is to capitalize from this start and grow over the weekend. Dhadak 2 is a film relying on word of mouth of the audience, and if reports come in its favour, the romantic saga will be looking to show big spikes on Saturday and Sunday to consolidate with good results over the weekend. With romance being the flavour of the season, Dhadak 2 could spring a surprise if reports from the audience come in its favour.

Central Schemes Empower Karnataka's Artists

Bengaluru: The Union Ministry of Culture has extended financial and promotional support to hundreds of artists across the state in 2024-25. According to details shared in the Lok Sabha, 397 veteran artists have been provided with a monthly pension under a dedicated scheme aimed at supporting senior artists. This initiative targets individuals aged 60 and above with an annual income below Rs. 72,000, offering them Rs. 6,000 monthly to honour their lifelong contributions to the arts. In cases of an artist's passing, the financial aid seamlessly transfers to their spouse, ensuring continued support. The information came to light following a query raised by Udupi-Chikkamagalur MP Kota Srinivas Poojari during a parliamentary session on July 28. Union Culture and Tourism Minister Gajendra Singh Shekhawat outlined the various measures taken to uplift artists in Karnataka, emphasising the government's commitment to preserving cultural heritage. Beyond veteran artists, 716 folk artists from Karnataka have benefited from initiatives spearheaded by the South Zone Cultural Centre (SZCC) in Thanjavur, which is an autonomous body under the Ministry of Culture. These artists received support through honorariums, travel allowances, accommodation, and local transportation for their participation in cultural events organised by the SZCC. Additionally, programs like the Guru-Shishya Parampara (Repertory Grant) have been instrumental, providing group leaders with Rs. 15,000 per month and group members with Rs. 2,000 to Rs. 10,000 monthly. The Cultural Function and Production Grant Scheme has also played a key role, offering up to Rs. 20 lakh to facilitate cultural festivals and programs in the state. Karnataka's artists have also gained recognition on national and international stages. Many have been empanelled for prestigious events such as the Rashtriya Sanskriti Mahotsavs and global platforms like the 'Festival of India' under the Global Engagement Scheme. These opportunities not only provide financial backing but also amplify the visibility of Karnataka's rich artistic traditions. MP Poojari's inquiry specifically sought details on financial schemes and efforts to promote and preserve Karnataka's diverse folk art forms. This robust support system reflects a broader commitment to safeguarding India's artistic legacy while empowering its creators, positioning Karnataka as a vibrant hub of cultural expression in 2024-25.

Exclusive: Mohit Suri Reveals His Wife And Paap Actor Udita Goswami, A DJ Now, "Is Asked To Play Saiyaara At Gigs"

New Delhi: The Saiyaara wave is everywhere from box office records to club dancefloors. Director Mohit Suri, in an exclusive chat with NDTV, revealed that the film's massive success has reached his home in the most unexpected way: his wife Udita Goswami, who's a DJ now, is getting flooded with requests to play the Saiyaara soundtrack at gigs. "Yes, my wife is a DJ, suddenly everyone is asking her to play Saiyaara," Mohit said with a smile, acknowledging the surreal moment the entire family is experiencing. The filmmaker added that while his wife has always been his biggest support system, this success feels like her moment just as much as his. "She has known me for the last 22 years. It's very difficult being in her position because the highs are not that high sometimes and the lows are very low but you still have to be there supporting," he said. For the unversed, Udita Goswami made her debut in the Hindi film industry with Pooja Bhatt's Paap (2003). She acted in Mohit Suri's directorial debut Zeher with Emraan Hashmi. She went on to act in films like Aksar, Dil Diya Hai, Kisse Pyaar Karoon, Apartment. But she left films a decade ago and became a DJ. Mohit, who married Udita after a decade of being in the film industry, said the couple skipped holidays and made sacrifices while he was working on Saiyaara. "There's always that one love you share which is your obsession with your film. She made all those sacrifices and never made it difficult for me," he said. Their daughter is now enjoying the spotlight too. "She suddenly realised I'm famous and she's loving the paps covering us. The last time when she was spotted, started making her hair and I was like what are you doing?" he laughed. "My son didn't care much. He's like what is happening?" Meanwhile, Saiyaara minted Rs 273.50 crore at the domestic box office within 13 days of its release. Globally, it crossed the Rs 400 crore mark.
