Two pedestrians are fighting for life after being struck by cars in separate incidents in Queensland's southeast.
Emergency services were called to the Logan Motorway at Kingston following reports a man had been by a car before 1pm on Monday.
Paramedics treated the man, aged in his 20s, for life-threatening head injuries.
He was taken to the Princess Alexandra Hospital in a critical condition.
Traffic was diverted via the Kingston Rd off ramp while the man was tended to, Queensland Traffic said.
Drivers were also warned to use alternative routes or expect lengthy delays.
The horrific Kingston crash came just two hours after a woman, believed to be aged in her 50s, was struck by a car on Emma St in Deebing Heights, Ipswich, at 11.19am.
She was taken to the Princess Alexandra Hospital in a potentially life-threatening condition with head, chest and pelvic injuries.
Police said no charges had been laid and investigations were continuing.
The Monday tragedies continue a horror week on Queensland roads.
Three teenagers killed in a horror-head on crash in Queensland were best mates who recently graduated from high school.
On Friday night, best friends T-Jay Petrass, Liam Doumergue, and Ellie Cunnington, all 19, died when their Mazda 2 crashed into a Great Wall Cannon while they were trying to overtake a semi-trailer on Mackay Ring Rd at Glenella, a suburb of Mackay, about 10.40pm.
All three teenagers were declared dead at the scene.
The 28-year-old male driver of the Great Wall Cannon, was rushed to Mackay Base Hospital in a serious condition, while the 68-year-old male driver of the semi-trailer escaped injury.
A fourth vehicle, an Isuzu D-Max, veered off the road to avoid the wreck and the driver was not hurt.
And on Wednesday, a 14-year-old school boy was fatally struck by a car in Brisbane, 1km from Wynnum State School.
The boy was crossing at the roundabout intersection of Tingal Rd and Colina St, Wynnum, when he was hit by a learner driver just after 8:20am.
He was treated for critical injuries by paramedics, but died at the crash site.
As of July 20, the total number of road fatalities in Queensland sits at 158 — six of those just on Saturday and Sunday.

Pictured: Teenagers killed in horror head-on crash at Glenella

Two of the three teenagers killed in a horror head-on crash in Queensland were best mates who recently graduated from high school. T-Jay Petrass and Liam Doumergue, both 19, died when their Mazda 2 crashed into a Great Wall Cannon while they were trying to overtake a semi-trailer on Mackay Ring Rd at Glenella, a suburb of Mackay, about 10.40pm on Friday. The teenagers — along with a 19-year-old girl also travelling in their car — were declared dead at the scene. Tributes have begun to pour in online for the teenagers, who recently graduated from Mackay North State High School. 'R.I.P to me (sic) little brother T-jay and his best mate Liam,' Petrass's older brother Jason Goodfellow said. 'No doubt still having a good time together up top.' One of Doumergue's friends said the tragedy was 'not fair'. 'You were taken too early,' he said. 'I am honestly so lost for words. I always looked up to you as an older brother. 'Rest in peace my bro.' Locals say there was heavy fog blanketing the 100km/h stretch of road at the time of the crash. Police are investigating whether the fog contributed to the accident. Investigations continue.
