Studio Tenn marks 15 years as Williamson County's theater anchor, announces new season
'Fifteen years ago, Studio Tenn was just a dream fueled by a simple belief that Middle Tennessee deserved world-class theaters," said Artistic Director Patrick Cassidy.
The company drew some of the area's most talented artists at its April 5 One Night Only fundraising gala, including Tony and Grammy award-winning actress and singer Jessie Mueller.
'I grew up doing regional theater so to be a part of an event like this is truly full circle,' Mueller said. 'Local theater companies are so important and as we saw after COVID, people not only need but want spaces like this.'
Studio Tenn operates as an important pillar of the theater community with the company being the only existing one in Williamson County. Currently, there are less than 20 theater companies in the Middle Tennessee area that range from Shakespeare to children's theater. Ensuring that theater can be provided to the Williamson community at an affordable rate has been an important part of the company.
'If it were not for donors, the average ticket price for front row seats would be $245. The back row would be just under a hundred dollars,' said board member and Development Chair Lynne McAlister. "That's only possible because of our amazing sponsors and donations from our theater lovers."
The record-braking attendance numbers from this season only further proved the importance of the studio. Their Christmas musical, "Million Dollar Quartet Christmas" was the company's highest grossing musical of all time. Additionally, their rendition of "The Play That Goes Wrong" was the highest grossing play of all time.
'The next 15 years will be challenging,' Morgan said. 'It will be about growing, pushing boundaries, and highlighting diversity. It will be about sharpening our vision to make sure that we remain relevant in the landscape of regional theater while remaining a cultural cornerstone right here in the middle of Tennessee.'
At the close of the event, Studio Tenn released the musicals and plays the audience will see in its upcoming 2025 – 2026 season. Those are:
Dracula
White Christmas
Death Trap
Boeing Boeing
Jesus Christ Superstar
'Tonight, we celebrated not just performances, but perseverance. We celebrated the unwavering love of a community that allowed us to tell powerful stories,' Morgan said. 'But, this is just the beginning. We couldn't do this without your support, passion, and your belief in the power of live theater."
Studio Tenn's last show of the 2025 season, "Jersey Boys," is running in Turner Theater from May 1 to 18, with the first show already being sold out. Season tickets for the upcoming season are currently on sale to previous season ticket holders. They go on sale to the general public on April 22. Additional ticket information can be found via studiotenn.org or by calling (615) 541-8200.

Tyler, The Creator Hits No. 1 For The First Time With His Surprise New Album
Tyler, The Creator's new album Don't Tap the Glass debuts at No. 1 on multiple charts in the United ... More Kingdom, bringing the hip-hop superstar to the top spot for the first time. HOLLYWOOD, CALIFORNIA - FEBRUARY 01: Tyler, the Creator attends the U.S. Premiere of "Jackass Forever" at TCL Chinese Theatre on February 01, 2022 in Hollywood, California. (Photo by Axelle/Bauer-Griffin/FilmMagic) Tyler, The Creator shocked fans recently with the surprise release of his brand new album Don't Tap the Glass. The set arrived in the middle of a tracking week, which meant it had only a few days to accumulate sales and streams before reaching charts everywhere. That compressed timeline didn't seem to hinder its success, as the collection manages to open in lofty positions on rankings around the globe, and it accomplishes an impressive showing in the United Kingdom. Tyler, The Creator Scores Multiple No. 1s Don't Tap the Glass starts at No. 1 on multiple tallies in the U.K. As the full-length debuts, it earns Tyler his first leader on three of those rosters. The set opens atop the Official Albums Sales, Official Physical Albums, and Official Vinyl Albums charts. While the Grammy winner has previously reached the top 10 with several releases on each of those rosters, this week marks the first time one of his efforts has conquered the trio of lists. Don't Tap the Glass Rules the Hip-Hop and R&B Chart Tyler's latest studio effort dominates the Official Hip-Hop and R&B Albums chart as it arrives. This week isn't the first time he has led that genre-specific ranking, though. Igor earned him his first No. 1 back in 2019. He doubled that total in late 2024 with A Chromakopia. Several other Tyler releases like Goblin, Wolf, Cherry Bomb, and Call Me If You Get Lost narrowly missed the throne by just one space each, while Flower Boy peaked at No. 3. Tyler Comes Close to No. 1 on the U.K. Albums Chart On the main Official Albums chart, which tracks the biggest full-lengths and EPs in the U.K. using a general consumption methodology, Don't Tap the Glass opens at No. 2. It starts at No. 8 on the Official Albums Streaming tally, and misses the top 10 entirely on the Official Albums Downloads roster, where it debuts at No. 24. Physical format sales appear to be the driving force behind the album's rapid success, as digital purchases played a less significant role in its arrival.

Why Erin Andrews and Charissa Thompson kept silent on Taylor Swift-Travis Kelce trip
Taylor Swift and Travis Kelce's love story is theirs to tell. That's the message pals Erin Andrews and Charissa Thompson drove home Monday on the latest installment of their 'Calm Down' podcast, days after the Chiefs tight end posted a handful of Instagram photos of the group's offseason getaway with the pop superstar. 'When the opportunity came about for all of us to spend time together and go on vacation, we were elated to have time with them, but also, just in general, see what she's all about,' Thompson said of Swift, who has been dating Kelce for two years. Travis Kelce/Instagram 'She's everything and more. Their lives are so public, so it was very important for Erin and I not to say anything — not because we don't like to share stuff with you, but it's important for us to let them dictate the narrative on things they do in their personal life.' Advertisement Thompson, a longtime Swiftie like Andrews, added the 14-time Grammy winner is 'a dream,' and she's elated the couple 'make[s] each other happy.' Kelce, 35, who reported to training camp this month ahead of his 13th NFL season, sent the internet into a frenzy on July 24 when he posted pics of his offseason 'adventures' with Swift, 35, Andrews, Thompson and their significant others, Jarret Stoll and Steve Cundari, respectively. 3 Travis Kelce is currently preparing for his 13th season in the league. Travis Kelce/Instagram 'We're so protective of them and their privacy and what they deserve, so that's why we never said anything or never planned on saying anything,' Andrews added on Monday's episode. Advertisement '… I will say this, our group, the six of us, we had a time.' Andrews, 47, and Thompson, 43, have long championed a Kelce-Swift connection, with the Fox Sports reporters encouraging the 'Fortnight' singer to give the three-time Super Bowl winner a chance after he failed to pass along a friendship bracelet at a July 2023 Eras Tour show with his telephone number on it. Swift made her first appearance at a Chiefs game two months after Kelce's reveal.
