
Dubai orchestra project: Everything you need to know
If you're a budding musician (or have one in the family), you'll be pleased to know the city is about to put a huge amount of funding and time into elevating local talent.
Announcing the news on Tuesday June 18, the Government of Dubai explained that it wants to promote Emirati music and culture around the world, through the creation of an orchestra project.
A post on X from the Dubai Media Office read:
'Under the directives of Hamdan bin Mohammed, the Executive Council has approved the 'Dubai Orchestra' project with the aim of enhancing the presence of Emirati arts and culture on the global stage, reinforcing Dubai's position as a global centre for culture and an incubator for creativity, and elevating the efficiency of Dubai's arts sector.'

According to the new project's outlines, there are a number of goals to be achieved in the coming years, including making 50 percent of orchestra members Emirati talent by 2033.
Hoping to showcase musical talent to the world, the project has been designed to:
Attract exceptional talent
Inspire and empower homegrown creatives
Stimulate the arts sector and drive its growth
Nurture a creative environment that advances the local music sector
Support Dubai's Creative Economy Strategy and the Dubai Social Agenda 33
To ensure the goals are met by 2033, there will be a series of new youth-focussed music programmes, as well as new partnerships with community organisations across the city.
New educational opportunities for promising and emerging talent will be created, as well as promoting the UAE's musical heritage on stages around the world.

Yes, we know that it's too hot to do lots of stuff in, but there are certainly perks to this (as well as so many deals to take advantage of) especially when it comes to going out to eat.
