Actress Virginia Madsen paid a heartfelt tribute to her brother, actor Michael Madsen, following his death at age 67 on July 3.
The Reservoir Dogs and Kill Bill star was found unresponsive at his Malibu home, with his death believed to be from natural causes, according to the Los Angeles Sheriff's Department.
Virginia shared an emotional Instagram post Thursday, remembering Michael not as a Hollywood icon, but as a deeply human, complex, and loving family member. 'He was thunder and velvet. Mischief wrapped in tenderness. A poet disguised as an outlaw,' she wrote. 'I'll miss the boy he was before the legend. I miss my big brother.'
Tributes poured in from across the entertainment industry. Jennifer Tilly, Lauren Holly, and James Gunn were among those who expressed their condolences.
Michael Madsen gained fame for his frequent collaborations with Quentin Tarantino, beginning with his iconic role as Mr. Blonde in Reservoir Dogs. He appeared in Kill Bill, The Hateful Eight, and Once Upon a Time in Hollywood, and was once considered for the role of Vincent Vega in Pulp Fiction.
At the time of his passing, Madsen was actively working on several independent film projects and preparing to release a book of poetry titled Tears for My Father: Outlaw Thoughts and Poems.
He is survived by his wife, DeAnna Morgan, and five children, including actor Christian Madsen. Michael previously opened up about the 2022 death of his son Hudson, who was also the godson of Tarantino.
Madsen's family plans to announce a celebration of his life at a later date.

YouTuber Armon Wiggins apologizes after viral baby oil stunt at Diddy trial

YouTuber Armon Wiggins has issued an apology after footage of him being covered in baby oil outside Sean "Diddy" Combs' trial went viral and sparked backlash. The moment, captured outside a Manhattan federal courthouse on July 2, showed Wiggins laughing as baby oil was applied to his back while he shouted "more!" in front of cameras. The video quickly spread online following the verdict, where Diddy was found guilty on two federal charges related to prostitution and acquitted on three others, including sex trafficking and racketeering. Some supporters of the artist were also seen applying baby oil in reference to Diddy's infamous "freak-off" parties, adding to the controversy. Wiggins, who has nearly 300,000 YouTube subscribers and had been covering the trial for two months, initially dismissed the criticism. "Clickbait titles," he wrote in a caption alongside a video of himself squirting baby oil on his chest. "I been oiling up and doing funny reenactments for 2 months straight." However, following increased scrutiny, Wiggins posted a formal statement on Instagram clarifying his intent. 'Yesterday, a clip of me outside the courthouse went viral and was taken out of context,' he wrote. 'It was a lighthearted moment from a long-running inside joke with my viewers and was never meant as support for Sean 'Diddy' Combs.' Wiggins added that his goal throughout the trial was to provide honest and objective coverage, and the baby oil moment was simply a way to share levity with his audience.

Jason Kelce faces backlash over ‘tone deaf' fourth of July post, fans call out 'privilege'

Jason Kelce has faced criticism on social media following his Fourth of July post calling for Americans to 'set aside our differences' and celebrate together. The retired Philadelphia Eagles player shared a video of fireworks over the water on Instagram, captioning, 'Man I love the 4th! One of the great days we all can set aside our differences in this country, and enjoy the one thing we all share in common. That we are American! Cheers to you oh beautiful America.' The post, which was liked by his brother Travis Kelce, quickly drew backlash, with many users calling the message 'tone deaf' amid the current political climate in the United States. 'I love you, bro, but your privilege is showing. You are able to set things aside, but not everyone has that privilege,' one follower commented. Another added, 'I really do love you Jason but no, we actually can't just set aside our differences. What this country is becoming is not something I'm proud of.' A third commenter stated, 'This caption is so beyond tone-deaf and insulting. People are suffering. People will die because of what's happening.' Additional comments urged Jason to use his platform to highlight current injustices, emphasising the need to speak up for those facing challenges across the country. Jason Kelce, 37, has typically remained neutral on politics alongside his brother Travis. Last year, Travis expressed a similar approach, stating he would visit the White House as a Super Bowl champion regardless of which president was in office.
