Pakistan players gain big in ICC Men's T20I Player Rankings
Haris has attained a career-best 30th position in the batting rankings after emerging as the top scorer with an aggregate of 179 runs for which he was named the Player of the Series. The 24-year-old, who blitzed an unbeaten 107 in the third ODI in Lahore with eight fours and seven sixes, has shot up 210 places.
Hasan Nawaz is another one to make rapid progress in the batting rankings, his 121 runs lifting him 57 places to joint-45th while Saim Ayub has advanced four places to 61st. In the bowling rankings, Abbas Afridi has progressed 18 places to joint-19th while leg-spinners Shadab Khan and Abrar Ahmed are joint-59th after proceeding 24 and 45 places, respectively.
Bangladesh's Tanzid Hasan, the top-scorer for Bangladesh with 106 runs in the series, has moved
up 28 places to 53rd and Jakar Ali has gone from 71st to 68th.
The ODI Rankings are headlined by England batters after a 3-0 series whitewash of the West Indies at home.
Joe Root's series-topping 266 runs that included an unbeaten 166 in the second match in Cardiff, have helped him move up 14 places to 24th while Ben Ducket (up three places to 17th) and Harry Brook (up 15 places to 48th) have gained from their three-figure aggregates.
Leg-spinner Adil Rashid is up four places to 15th in the bowling rankings after finishing with nine wickets in the series while seam bowler Saqib Mahmood's eight wickets lift him 82 places to 48th.
For the West Indies, Keacy Carty continues his fine run to move up to a career-best 12th position after scoring 154 runs in the series including a century in Cardiff. Alzarri Joseph is up nine places
to 18th, thanks to his seven wickets in the series.

Bhubaneswar, July 19 (UNI) Odisha has handled its largest ever imported coking coal parcel, with a massive 1,86,782 metric tonnes (MT) received at Adani-operated Dhamra Port, the port officials said today. The consignment was imported by Tata Steel Limited, one of India's leading steel producers. PM Modi to visit UK and the Maldives next week
New Delhi, July 20 (UNI) Prime Minister Narendra Modi will pay official visits to the United Kingdom and the Maldives next week and hold discussions with the two countries' leaders on issues of mutual interest, the Ministry of External Affairs said today. PM Modi will undertake his fourth visit to the United Kingdom July 23-24 at the invitation of his UK counterpart Keith Starmer, the MEA said in a statement here. During the two-day visit, Prime Minister Modi will hold wide-ranging discussions with Starmer on the entire gamut of India-UK bilateral relations. They will also exchange views on issues of regional and global importance. PM Modi is also expected to call on the UK King Charles III. During the visit, the two sides will also review the progress of the Comprehensive Strategic Partnership (CSP) with a specific focus on trade and economy, technology and innovation, defence and security, climate, health, education and people-to-people ties. In the second leg of his trip, PM Modi will visit the Maldives July 25–26 on the invitation of the President of the Republic of Maldives Dr. Mohamed Muizzu. This will be the Indian Prime Minister's third visit to Maldives, and the first visit by a Head of Government to Maldives during Muizzu's Presidency, the MEA said. The Prime Minister will be the 'Guest of Honour' at the celebrations of the 60th anniversary of the Independence of the Maldives on July 26. During the two-day visit, PM Modi will meet Muizzu and discuss issues of mutual interest. The two leaders will also take stock of the progress in the implementation of the India-Maldives Joint Vision for a 'Comprehensive Economic and Maritime Security Partnership', adopted during the State Visit of the President of Maldives to India in October 2024. The visit reflects the importance India attaches to its maritime neighbour, Maldives, which continues to hold a special place in India's 'Neighbourhood First' policy and Vision MAHASAGAR, the MEA said. India win historic Badminton medal at FISU Games
Rhine-Ruhr (Germany), July 20 (UNI) India's mixed badminton team etched its name in the history books by clinching a first-ever medal in the sport at the FISU World University Games, securing a bronze today at the 2025 edition in Rhine-Ruhr, Germany. This marks the first time India have made the podium in badminton since the sport was introduced to the World University Games programme in 2007. India confirmed their bronze after a spirited 3-2 victory over Malaysia in the quarterfinals. As per tournament rules, both losing semifinalists were awarded bronze medals. The medal also became India's first at the ongoing Games. In the semifinal clash against Chinese Taipei, India put up a valiant fight. Sathish Kumar Karunakaran opened the tie in men's singles but lost a hard-fought battle 1-2 (15-13, 13-15, 10-15) to Su Li Yang. Devika Sihag brought India level with a commanding 2-0 (15-10, 15-10) win in the women's singles over Huang Ching Ping. The momentum, however, swung back as the men's doubles pair of Saneeth Dayanand and Karunakaran went down 0-2 (8-15, 13-15) to Chen Zhi-ray and Lin Yu Chieh. Tasnim Mir and Varshini Viswanath Sri then lost the women's doubles in straight games (3-15, 8-15) to Hsu Yin-Hui and Yang Chu Yun, sealing the tie for Chinese Taipei. The final mixed doubles match was not played. Earlier in the competition, India defeated the USA 3-1 in the round of 16, blanked Macau China 5-0, and narrowly lost 2-3 to Hong Kong China in the group stage. With this bronze, India are placed joint 29th in the medals tally with one medal.
