ICAI confirmed that this year, a total of 14,247 candidates qualified as Chartered Accountants, with the exams held between May 16 and May 24 for Group 1 and Group 2 papers.

ICAI boosts fund to support needy CA students to s 400 crore
Ahmedabad: The Institute of Chartered Accountants of India (ICAI) is committed to supporting every child in India who wishes to pursue chartered accountancy but faces financial or personal difficulties, said Ketan Saiya, chairman of the Western India Regional Council (WIRC) of ICAI. He said that any student in need can approach any ICAI branch for assistance. After proper verification, ICAI will offer all possible support to help them continue their CA studies. To strengthen this initiative, ICAI increased its education support fund from Rs 100 crore to Rs 400 crore this year. Additionally, ICAI is actively conducting career counselling programmes in districts across the country to promote awareness and opportunities in the CA profession. On July 10-11, over 100 CA students from across India will visit GIFT City to explore opportunities for their future careers. These include cyberfraud awareness for housewives, MSME support, startup seminars, investor meets, and educational programmes for schoolgirls on safety awareness through the Bhairavi programme.

Baroda records 71.03% pass rate in CMA Foundation
1 2 3 4 Vadodara: The Baroda centre of the Institute of Cost Accountants of India (ICAI) recorded a 71.03% pass rate in the CMA Foundation Examination for the June 2025 term, the results of which were declared on Tuesday. Out of 107 students who appeared for the exam, 76 successfully cleared it. Among them was 19-year-old Neel Chintankumar Barot, a partly blind student from Godhra in Panchmahal district, who overcame his disability to pass the exam. Neel suffers from amblyopia with high myopia and corneal opacity, resulting in 60% vision impairment in both eyes. "I have had this condition since birth, and my vision has deteriorated gradually," said Neel, who is currently pursuing his second year of BBA at MS University's Faculty of Commerce. "I have had this condition since my birth. My vision gradually decreases due to this condition," he said. Despite the challenges, Neel adopted innovative methods to prepare for the exam. "I relied on audio content available online and studied from printouts in large fonts prepared by my parents," he said. "They helped me get special permission to write the exam in three hours instead of the standard two, and provided a separate classroom for the MCQ-based paper," he said. Neel aspires to become a certified cost and management accountant, complete his BBA, and later appear for the RBI Grade B officer examination. The city toppers in the foundation exam were Raj Vadher, who secured the first rank with 326 out of 400 marks, followed by Aryan Panchal, who stood second with 314 marks. The third rank was shared by three students — Asma Valikarimwala, Dipkumar Vadher, and Harsh Jasani — each scoring 296 marks.
