After testing loads of the best PS5 Pro games these are my top 13 picks for the best titles to play on the premium console, with a first party exclusive taking the top spot
The best PS5 Pro games stand out in their own right, while also making the best of the Pro's enhanced features to elevate the experience. Out of the entire PS5 Pro games list, there are a handful that feature bespoke upgrades, utilizing PSSR (PlayStation Spectral Super Resolution), the boosted GPU, and machine learning to deliver definitive versions.
After picking up a PS5 Pro at launch, I've spent hundreds of hours playing newly enhanced games in order to find the ones best optimized to take advantage of the Pro's extra power. I evaluated games by checking for graphics upgrades, frame rate boosts and additional features. So if you've bought Sony's latest console, I can confirm these are the very best PS5 Pro games that will make the most of the console's full potential.
Despite the fact that this article prioritizes games that perform particularly well on the PS5 Pro, you can also check our best PS5 games for an overall look at the very best experiences Sony's base console has to offer. In our PS5 Pro review, we praised the new console's treatment of first-party titles, coming away particularly impressed with Marvel's Spider-Man 2, Horizon Forbidden West, and Demon's Souls.
The best PS5 exclusives usually feature the most substantial upgrades for PS5 Pro, but as you'll see from the list below, there are substantial improvements to third-party titles as well.
Best PS5 Pro games 2025
13. Stellar Blade
EVE, online
Dazzling combat with plenty of moves
Stunning set pieces and environmental design
Loads of abilities and cosmetics to unlock
Phenomenal soundtrack
Platforming segments can frustrate
Story takes a while to really get going
Why we love it
"Stellar Blade is an excellent PlayStation 5 exclusive. The game packs engaging combat, huge enemy variety, heart-stopping boss battles, and ships all that with an absolute all-timer of a soundtrack. Simply put, if you own a PS5, you should play Stellar Blade." - Rhys Wood, TechRadar Gaming Hardware Editor.
Stellar Blade is expertly upgraded on PS5 Pro, with two new modes that help improve visual fidelity, while boosting FPS. Pro Max is a bit like an enhanced Quality mode, allowing for an uncapped framerate perfect for VRR displays. Then there's the Pro mode, which uses PSSR to boost the image while keeping FPS silky smooth. For such an action heavy game, these small upgrades have incredible effects.
If you're a fan of Platinum Games, and action-heavy titles like Devil May Cry, you'll find plenty to love about Stellar Blade. It stars EVE, an 'angel' (read: elite combat specialist) fighting for an entity named Mother Sphere to reclaim a post-apocalyptic Earth from a hellish force known as the Naytiba. She's a blast to play as, chaining fast-flowing attacks with visually stunning abilities that can be upgraded over time. Thanks to some excellent post-launch updates, Stellar Blade is better than ever, making the PS5 Pro version a great excuse to jump in if you haven't already.
PS5 Pro enhancements: Pro Max Mode, Pro Mode, PSSR.
12. Alan Wake 2
An epic saga
Fantastic art style and graphics
Thrilling music
Inventive mechanics
Thought-provoking story
A progression-stopping bug
Now I think I'm a detective
Why we love it
"Alan Wake 2 stands out as a champion among modern survival horror games. Its beautifully woven story encompasses everything you could want from a blockbuster horror title. Expertly crafted cutscenes meld together reality and video games while thrilling combat and frightening chases keep things interesting as you dig into a gripping narrative." - Ellie Gould, TechRadar Gaming reviewer.
Alan Wake 2 is a true masterclass in psychological horror, featuring some of the best art direction I've ever seen. This is all further enhanced on PS5 Pro, as you'll able to play in Performance Mode at 4K. Alan Wake 2's foggy forests and gloomy train stations are given added depth on the Pro, making it truly the best place to play the game.
Over the course of a Twin Peaks: The Return-inspired story, you play as Saga Anderson, a detective looking to solve a murder in the small town of Bright Falls. Of course, this is where we left Alan trapped in the first game, and the two do indeed collide partway through the campaign. From there, there's full live-action dance numbers, abandoned hotel buildings to explore, and a truly epic ending that further meshes the worlds of Alan Wake and Control.
PS5 Pro enhancements: Performance Mode now offers 4K at the same fidelity as the base PS5's Quality Mode. The PS5 Pro Quality Mode however, will target raytracing. As confirmed in this blog post.
11. Death Stranding 2: On the Beach
Burning bridges
Meaningfully builds on the mechanics of the original
Vastly improves the action, while not letting it overpower the game
A far more introspective and character-driven story
Incredible third act
Some of the most gorgeous visuals I've ever seen
Audio glitches are frequent
The story is a lot slower this time around
Won't change your mind if you didn't like the first one
Why we love it
"Death Stranding 2: On the Beach is a great example of a sequel that expands on the original without losing sight of it. The traversal is still the star of the show, while the action has been significantly improved without taking over the experience. While a conventional plot takes the back seat for a more character-driven story, the new cast of characters and a phenomenal final third act stick the landing with prime Hideo Kojima bombast." - Scott McRae, TechRadar Gaming reviewer.
Death Stranding 2 is enhanced for PS5 Pro, and while it's not the biggest upgrade we've seen – certainly not at the level as some other entries on this list – its small improvements amount to one of the best looking games we've ever seen on consoles. In part, this is due to the fact that Death Stranding 2 is a PS5-exclusive, skipping last-gen and instead focusing entirely on current hardware.
The desert locales of Death Stranding 2 are a striking departure from the rain-soaked, grassy plains of its predecessor. There's still large mountainous regions, but a thick haze of sand and dust hangs in the air, catching sunlight and creating a whole new level of depth to the world around you. Death Stranding 2 improves upon the first in many ways, with gameplay refined into something that's closer to Metal Gear Solid 5; a heavy emphasis on quick movement and stealth shine through as Sam feels better than ever.
PS5 Pro enhancements: improved visual performance across both main modes.
10. Monster Hunter Wilds
The new gold standard
Seamless open world
Seasonal changes are breathtaking to behold
Campaign is all killer, no filler
Bringing along a second weapon is a true game-changer
New Focus Mode is the best addition in over a decade
Lack of a central hub does rob the game of some charm
Visuals can be inconsistent with some areas looking washed out.
Monster Hunter Wilds on PS5 Pro is easily the best place to play, with consistent frame rates while keeping the visual fidelity high. I play on Balanced Mode, with a VRR monitor, and it's the perfect middle ground, and a great way to sharpen up the game's sometimes blurry graphics.
Why we love it
"Monster Hunter Wilds is a bold and bustling continuation of its predecessor's approach to streamlining the once-niche series. By stripping away some of the more frustrating elements of the past, and focusing on getting players into hunts as quickly as possible, Monster Hunter Wilds has the potential to launch the series to new heights. Aside from some head-scratching omissions, Monster Hunter Wilds is a collection of the greatest hits from past games, one that finally delivers on the promise of a truly vibrant and living open world." - Jake Green, TechRadar Gaming reviewer.
Gameplay-wise, this is the best Monster Hunter yet, with the ability to bring two weapons out with you on hunts. The new Focus system completely transforms weapons like the Long Sword, and so far, post-launch support has been excellent.
While it's best enjoyed with friends, Monster Hunter Wilds makes it easy to send out SOS Flares and squad up with other players online. Hunts are dynamic, with weather systems and seasons combining to make every hunt memorable.
By implementing PSSR (PlayStation Spectral Super Resolution) technology, Sony has managed to empower an upgrade to the base experience, with the 60 FPS (frames per second) Performance Mode managing to keep the visuals consistent while boosting the frame rate.
PS5 Pro enhancements: improved visual performance across all three main modes. PSSR implementation for cleaner image. Performance Mode noticeably higher resolution.
9. Assassin's Creed Shadows
Ubisoft's best open world yet
The series' best combat
Beautiful world filled with loads to see, do, and kill
Satisfying and rewarding exploration
Dual protagonist system works - from combat styles to mission approaches
Changing between characters could be more seamless
Hideout mode is underwhelming
Story bounces all over the place and peters out
Assassin's Creed Shadows launched with very good PS5 Pro support, but has since been updated with PSSR post-launch which has given the game a great boost, and made raytracing much more viable on the enhanced console.
Why we love it
"Assassin's Creed Shadows is a massive success and a winning combination of stealth and steel. It's a fantastic entry in the open-world RPG line of games in the stealth series and the most refined version of that style yet, with satisfying and rewarding exploration, brilliant combat, and a dual protagonist system that really works. Even a few minor quibbles can't hold it back." - Rob Dwiar, TechRadar Gaming reviewer.
As I covered in my AC Shadows best graphics settings guide, standard raytracing is available in Performance Mode, giving you 60FPS while maintaining image quality. This is a huge step up when compared to the base PS5 version, and it looks incredible in action.
By finally taking the series to Japan, Ubisoft really elevates the modern RPG formula present in the last few Assassin's Creed games. The open world is gorgeous and immensely detailed. The foliage, in particular, is breathtaking, as is the dynamic Season mechanics and Hideout mode.
Generally, this is the best open world I've ever seen in a Ubisoft game, one that's fun to explore without being too large or bloated with meaningless side activities.
PS5 Pro enhancements: improved visual performance across three main modes. RT available in Performance Mode. PSSR implemented post-launch.
8. The Last of Us Part 1
You know how this ends
Increased accessibility options
More difficulty levels for sadists among you
Lovingly remade without sacrificing anything
Repeat players might not notice many changes
The Last of Us Part 1 is a fantastic PS5 remake, and in my opinion, the best way to experience the groundbreaking game that originally launched on PS3.
Why we love it
"The Last of Us Part 1 is full of memorable moments, in combat and out – but as a verified secret softy, it's the heart-wrenching ones that have scored their marks in my heart. And boy howdy, does the revamped intro qualify for that and then some." - Shabana Arif, TechRadar Gaming reviewer.
With PS5 Pro, the game gets a boost to visual fidelity while maintaining all the bells and whistles of Performance Mode. This new Pro mode produces a much sharper image, really elevating what is already a beautiful game.
In the first game of the ongoing The Last of Us series, you play as Joel, as he's tasked with transporting a young girl across a post-apocalyptic landscape. This mysterious quest takes twists and turns almost immediately, evolving into something that cements Naughty Dog's status as a world-class developer.
Even if you've played this one before, it's worth experiencing again on PS5 Pro, with one of the best stories ever to feature in a video game.
PS5 Pro enhancements: new 'Pro Mode' that reaches 4K at 60FPS. PSSR implementation.
7. Demon's Souls
The best looking game on PS5, made even better
Next-gen visuals
Super-fast load times
Atmospheric locations
Extreme difficulty may deter many
Clunky lock-on system
Can feel overwhelming
Demon's Souls can get a bit overlooked when people talk about the best FromSoftware titles, but spend even a passing moment playing it and you'll see that it laid the foundations for everything that followed.
Why we love it
"Bluepoint Games has completely remade Demon's Souls from the ground up for PS5, and it's a phenomenal, often breathtaking achievement. Demon's Souls is the first game that actually looks like it could only run on a next-gen machine, with spectacular lighting, convincing animations and super-fast load times some of the key highlights." - Adam Vjestica, TechRadar reviewer.
This Bluepoint-developed remake keeps all of the charm of the original while modernizing it for this generation of consoles. Visually, it's still one of the best-looking games ever made, and it still plays as good as it always has, if not better.
On PS5 Pro, Demon's Souls is upgraded via PSSR, upscaling to 4K while maintaining 60 FPS. There's some extra work put into lighting and shadows, too, and the results are stunning. Seriously, download Demon's Souls for free if you have PS Plus (it's part of the Game Catalogue) and just walk around for a bit. You'll be blown away by how good it looks, and will probably be tempted to dig deeper into its brutal but engaging combat.
PS5 Pro enhancements: 4K image-like quality at 60 frames per second.
6. Gran Turismo 7
The best PS5 Pro racing games
Stunning graphics
Lightning-fast load times
Breathtaking haptic feedback
Bags of content
Licence tests might be too strict for some
Music Rally is underwhelming
Gran Turismo 7 is still one of best racing games you can play on PS5, and it's enhanced on PS5 Pro. You can now apply Ray Tracing in gameplay, previously limited only to the replays and photo mode.
Why we love it
"Gran Turismo 7 isn't just the best entry in the long-running series, it sets the bar astronomically high for all future racing sims. GT7's stunning graphics are paired with a wonderfully slick presentation. That, in conjunction with best-in-class racing sim gameplay that's easier than ever to pick up - and tough as ever to master - make for a constantly satisfying racer." - Rhys Wood, TechRadar Gaming Hardware Editor.
There's an option to enable 8K if you're so inclined, and VR is massively improved on the PlayStation 5 Pro. Interestingly, PSSR can be toggled on or off, primarily to activate Ray Tracing in cockpit view, though this will reduce the overall image quality.
Whether you're a casual racing fan or someone who wants to tweak and tune every aspect of your vehicles, Gran Turismo 7 is accessible to most. There's a brilliant GT Café feature that'll lead you through events while you get to grips with the game. The soundtrack is fantastic, as expected, featuring a mix of old and new sounds that'll take plenty of players back to the days of playing the series on PlayStation One.
PS5 Pro enhancements: now able to support ray tracing during races, which was previously impossible. This allows not only for car surfaces to show full reflections of other cars, but also for a car to reflect its own parts, greatly enhancing realism and immersion throughout the whole game.
5. Final Fantasy 7 Rebirth
Branching pathways
Exceptional narrative design and pacing
Fluid and well-developed combat
Captivating characters with impeccable chemistry
The occasional setpiece falls flat
Story deviations may irritate purists
Final Fantasy 7 Rebirth was met with a bit of a mixed reaction when it launched, primarily due to its shaky visuals and performance on PS5. The PS5 Pro is absolutely the upgrade the game needed, with the new Pro mode managing to clean up the often muddy graphics while delivering a consistent frame rate.
Why we love it
"Final Fantasy 7 Rebirth is a loving recreation of the original's second act, elevated by an impressive level of commitment and confidence and only held back by the occasional wobble." - Cat Bussell, TechRadar Gaming reviewer.
This is especially felt in the open world, which is absolutely massive in Rebirth. Filled with a whole host of side activities, this sprawling offering is the best we've seen in a Final Fantasy title by far.
While it's based on the original Final Fantasy 7 game, FF7 Rebirth is more of a sequel to 2020's Final Fantasy 7 Remake. Because of this, the story isn't quite what you'd expect, with key moments playing out drastically differently from how things did all the way back in 1997. Once again, this isn't anywhere close to being a straight remake; in fact, it's a much more interesting direction in terms of story and character development.
PS5 Pro enhancements: the new Enhanced Mode developed especially for PS5 Pro combines the characteristics of the existing Performance Mode and Graphics Mode to offer players a new visual experience.
4. Horizon Forbidden West
A new frontier
A character-led story
Astonishing facial animation
It looks stunning
A fascinating and cohesive world
Frustrating movement
Horizon Forbidden West takes the series in a bold new direction, with Alloy venturing across a new region seeking out answers to a potentially world-ending mystery. The game is gorgeous, as expected, especially the water, which can now be traversed to get to sunken wrecks and tunnels.
Why we love it
"Horizon Forbidden West is one of the best-looking games we've seen. The game's world is a slice of the southwest USA, condensed to be able to travel from Las Vegas and San Francisco in the space of ten minutes. It's a jarring scale if you think too hard about it, but it doesn't detract from how well-realized this is. There is a breadth of biomes to explore, rocky mountains give way to desolate deserts, lush jungles, icy wastes, deep blue oceans, and derelict cities." - Patrick Dane, TechRadar Gaming reviewer.
On PS5 Pro, there's a bespoke technology called Guerrilla Super Resolution at play, boosting visuals while maintaining a 60FPS output. There are options to turn on VRR and unlock the frame rate as well.
Simply put, Horizon Forbidden West might be the best implementation of PS5 Pro yet. There's a bounty of new modes to choose from, the standout being Performance Pro, which closes in on 1440p resolution. All of this extra detail is most seen in foliage-dense environments and in character models. PS5 Pro is undoubtedly the best place to play this excellent sequel.
PS5 Pro enhancements: you can now enjoy a visual quality that matches or surpasses the Quality mode on the regular PlayStation 5, but now at 60 FPS – double the framerate.
3. God of War Ragnarok
The best PS5 story game
Perfectly pitched ambition
Plenty to explore and collect
Clever developments to combat
Nuanced, emotive storytelling
Traveling between realms is slow
God of War Ragnarok is the critically acclaimed sequel to God of War (2018). Things pick up shortly before the events that ended the first game, building up to a fierce showdown between Kratos and one of Odin's kin.
Why we love it
"Building upon the themes of its predecessor, God of War Ragnarok's emotive narrative shines in its subtler moments, while clever evolutions to combat introduce welcome changes that advance gameplay without oversaturating it. It's a sequel that is often as brutal as it is poignant – and a fitting next chapter in Kratos and Atreus' journey." - Vic Hood, TechRadar Gaming reviewer.
From there, Kratos and his allies must prevent the coming of Ragnarok, with Atreus taking center stage in a heartfelt tale of destiny, family, and fate.
PS5 Pro users get access to new modes, one called PS5 Pro Enhanced Mode that uncaps frame rate for those with a 120hz VRR display. This boosts frame rates close to 100FPS in some instances. PSSR is also an option, improving the sharpness of distant objects and foliage, with just a slight dip in performance.
Despite having released a few years back, God of War Ragnarok is still an absolutely incredible game to behold. Snow effects, ray-traced lighting, and detailed character models shine on PS5 Pro, boosting the limits of what's possible on console, and even outperforming the PC version in some respects.
PS5 Pro enhancements: new mode added for PS5 Pro that enables Favor Quality features while running at 60 frames per second. PSSR option available as an upscaler.
2. Astro Bot
A true joy
Brilliant use of different abilities and obstacles to make collectible hunting engaging
Fun and fair boss battles
Top-notch level design variety
Fantastic use of the DualSense controller and its features
Uncovering bonus levels prematurely ends the current level run, negatively impacting pacing
It's all over too quickly
Astro Bot was the best PS5 game released in 2024, with excellent 3D platforming and hundreds of PlayStation-focused Easter Eggs. On PS5 Pro, PSSR is deployed to improve image quality in most cases, and things stay at a steady 60FPS throughout.
Why we love it
"Astro Bot combines engrossing platforming mechanics across masterfully designed levels that are filled with fun obstacles and collectibles. It stands up to gaming's biggest giants like Mario and Sonic as a result and is a joyous Game of the Year contender." - George Yang, TechRadar Gaming reviewer.
In a game as gorgeous as Astro Bot, these slight improvements make for big results, with water and particle effects being best-in-class for a game such as this one. The art style of Astro Bot sticks to the core design of PlayStation's latest suite of consoles, all pristine whites, deep blues, and stark shadows. Levels are then populated with immense bursts of color, themed after iconic PlayStation mascots like Ratchet, Krato,s and Aloy.
Astro Bot is a celebration of all things PlayStation, while being a truly revolutionary platformer in its own right. Boss fights each feature clever mechanics that make great use of the PS5 DualSense controller's haptic triggers and vibrations. There's a charming sound design utilizing the controller's speakers, too. If you're looking to show off what the PS5 Pro and its controller can do, Astro Bot is the perfect game to play first.
PS5 Pro enhancements: PSSR option available as an upscaler.
1. Marvel's Spider-Man 2
An exhilarating sequel
Traversing the city is a joy, especially with the new web wings
A true comic saga story that sets up huge stakes and delivers on them
Each character feels meaningfully different to play
Lots of busywork
The story takes a long time to get going
Marvel's Spider-Man 2 looks and feels absolutely incredible on PS5 Pro, with a new Performance Pro Mode holding a steady 60FPS while offering comparable visuals to the base PS5's Resolution Mode. The Fidelity Pro mode is then an alternate option for those who really want to push their graphics to the max. It targets 30 fps and introduces new ray-tracing graphical features plus greater pedestrian and traffic density.
Why we love it
"Marvel's Spider-Man 2 delivers a satisfying Spidey-saga that gives fans everything they could want from a Venom arc and also includes several surprises. It's a single-player open-world game that prioritizes fun above all else, with a host of accessibility features to let everyone join in." - Jake Tucker, TechRadar Gaming reviewer.
This is in addition to higher-quality character hair. A handful of new features can be individually tweaked to target different frame rates, with support for variable refresh rate (VRR) displays. While it may not be the highest reviewed game on this list, it's absolutely the biggest upgrade we've seen on PS5 Pro, and absolutely the best showcase for the system.
If you're looking to test out the ray-tracing capabilities of PS5 Pro, Marvel's Spider-Man 2 is absolutely the title to download. In terms of how good this web-slinging sequel is, it hooked me from the outset. Things begin with a lightning-charged battle with Sand Man, and after the introduction of Kraven the Hunter, things only get better and better. Swapping between Peter and Miles is practically seamless, and the new web wings add a faster way to get around the sprawling city of New York.
PS5 Pro enhancements: Spider-Man 2 finds a new default Performance Pro mode, which marries the crisp 4K resolution and ray tracing features of Fidelity mode with the speedy 60 frames per second of Performance mode.
Best PS5 Pro games: FAQs
What PS5 Pro enhanced games are coming out soon?
Now that we're well into a new year, there's a whole host of new games to look forward to in the coming months. Looking ahead, we have Borderlands 4, and then Ghost of Yōtei, both of which are expected to feature some PS5 Pro enhancements.
For a full list of upcoming PS5 Pro games and when they release, check out our new PS5 games roundup.
What games are way better on PS5 Pro?
A number of PS4 games have been enhanced for PS5, with some benefiting from improved frame rates and visuals that make them both look and play better than before. Just some PS4 games which have had PS5 improvements are God of War, Ghost of Tsushima, and The Last of Us 2. But, don't forget, most PS4 games will benefit from PS5 anyway, thanks to significantly improved loading times.
What makes a PS5 Pro game better?
While compiling this list, I took into consideration the game's initial performance and quality, though I put extra emphasis on the impact of the PS5 Pro enhancements. Games like Astro Bot are brilliant games on standard PS5, and through PS5 Pro upgrades, are made even better. Spider-Man 2 is a good example of a game that we reviewed well (but not top-scoring), but find to be so much better on PS5 Pro that it's made the top of the list of recommendations so far.
In the future, we'll continue to evaluate the specific enhancements deployed by PS5 Pro, as we curate the essential experiences that are worth picking up on Sony's most powerful console.
How we made our best PS5 Pro games list
Many of us at TechRadar Gaming play a lot of games on PS5 Pro and have experience with dozens and dozens of the games on the platform. Google Pixel 10 series tipped to be getting heavier — but with good reason
When you buy through links on our articles, Future and its syndication partners may earn a commission. It appears that the Google Pixel 10 series is getting heavier and thicker across the board, according to alleged size and weight figures published by Android Headlines. We have put the figures into this table for easy reading. We'll discuss how these compare to the current Pixel 9 models in a moment. Google Pixel 10 Google Pixel 10 Pro Google Pixel 10 Pro XL Google Pixel 10 Pro Fold Size (millimetres, H x W x D) 152.8 x 72 x 8.6 152.8 x 72 x 8.6 162.8 x 76.6 x 8.5 155.2 x 150.4 x 5.2mm unfolded / 155.2 x 76.3 x 10.8mm folded Size difference to Pixel 9 (mm) 0 x 0 x 0.1 0 x 0 x 0.1 0 x 0 x 0 0 x 0.2 x 0.1 unfolded / 0 x -0.8 x 0.3 folded Weight (grams) 204 207 232 258 Size difference to Pixel 9 (g) 6 8 11 1 For the identically sized Pixel 10 and Pixel 10 Pro, the only size difference is a slight increase in thickness. Both are getting heavier though, with the Pixel 10 Pro gaining slightly more weight than the Pixel 10 for some reason. The Pixel 10 Pro XL is the odd one out here, as it's only getting heavier. Apparently, the body of the phone will remain the exact same size as the Pixel 9 Pro XL we already have. Finally, the Pixel 10 Pro Fold is getting heavier too. Interestingly, compared to the Pixel 9 Pro Fold, the 10 Pro Fold appears to be a little slimmer, but wider when unfolded and then narrower when folded. It could be all for Qi2 Normally, you want to see phones getting lighter from generation to generation, and if that doesn't happen, it's simple to figure out which features are added or expanded to cause it. With the Pixel 10, this weight gain may be because of adding new magnetic accessories. Qi2 wireless charging, the latest open standard for cable-free charging, is slowly rolling out onto Android phones, increasing the typical charging speed from 15W to 25W. But no device other than the HMD Skyline has actually added the magnetic alignment ring, a big part of the Qi2 upgrade that enables Apple MagSafe-style attachments to all kinds of accessories. Samsung's Galaxy S25 series offer 25W charging speeds, but only magnetic attachment via a case, rather than in the phone. Google could be about to break the mould though, with an alleged line of "PixelSnap" accessories tipped to launch alongside the Pixel 10 series (via TechRadar). Offering in-house magnetic chargers and stands, hopefully without needing a separate case, would give Android users their first true taste of the iPhone MagSafe experience. Given how many third-party magnetic accessories for Android phones like the Pixel already exist, it's odd it has taken Google this long to potentially implement magnets. Google's confirmed that the Pixel 10 series will be launching on August 20, so it's less than a month until we find out for sure. But considering we've already had official renders of the phones published, perhaps we'll get confirmation of sizing or new accessories before Made by Google happens as well. Made by Google 2025 — Pixel 10, Pixel Watch 4 and what else could appear
When you buy through links on our articles, Future and its syndication partners may earn a commission. A date's been set for the next Made by Google event. Now it's just a matter of figuring out which hardware will be appearing at the annual showcase for the company's latest releases. Google sent out invites for the August 20 event last week, marking the second year in a row that Google's launch event would be held in the summer. Previously, Google held its product launches in early October, so that new phones, smart watches and other gear would be on hand for the holiday shopping season. The event takes place at 1 p.m. ET / 10 a.m. PT / 6 p.m. BST on August 20, with Google holding the launch in New York. There's no details yet on a Made by Google live stream, though we'd expect that you'll be able to watch all the product news on Google's YouTube channel. As to what the company plans to announce at Made by Google, there's not a lot of mystery as to potential product launches. New Pixel phones always seem to be the centerpiece of Google's hardware event, and there are enough rumors about the Pixel 10 — including teasers from Google itself — to suggest that a launch is imminent. The timing of Google's August 20 event would also seem to line up with a Pixel Watch release, as Google readies an update to its smartwatch lineup. There's also talk of new accessories at Made by Google as well as a few surprise reveals. We're now less than a month away from Made by Google 2025. Here's a look at all the possible announcements that we know of right now. Check back for updates as we get closer to the event itself. Google Pixel 10 The standard Pixel 10 phone could be the biggest announcement at Made by Google, as it appears to be the recipient of the most significant changes. Specifically, rumors point to the entry-level flagship gaining a dedicated telephoto lens after Google previously restricted that feature to its Pro phones. Renders for the Pixel 10 certainly show off a third rear lens, though rumors suggest it won't match the resolution of the 48MP zoom camera on the Pro phones. Nevertheless, adding a telephoto lens would put the Pixel on par with the Galaxy S25, another phone in the Pixel's price range that offers a zoom camera. The Pixel 10's ultrawide camera could also turn to a lesser sensor than the one inside in the Pixel 9. As for other changes, we're expecting a Tensor G5 chip that ushers in new AI capabilities. Google's silicon might be moving to a 3nm process, which would mean a boost in performance and power efficiency over the 4nm Tensor G4, though another rumor posits that the G5 will also be a 4nm chipset. While the Pixel 9a dropped Google's distinctive camera bar, that feature seems to be returning based on renders of the Pixel 10. We're once again expecting a 6.3-inch display. Google dropped its own Pixel 10 teaser ahead of the August 20 hardware event, and the back of the phone in Google's image is consistent with all of these rumors — including the probability of a third rear camera appearing on that phone. Google Pixel 10 Pro models Besides the Pixel 10, expect a new batch of Pro models, with Google tipped to feature the same sizes as last year. That would mean a 6.3-inch Pixel 10 Pro, a 6.8-inch Pixel 10 Pro XL and a Pixel 10 Pro Fold with a foldable display similar to the design of the just-announced Galaxy Z Fold 7. The Pixel 10 Pro Fold's cover display could be larger, even if the main screen remains at 8 inches. One display change set for the Pro models could be improved Pulse with Modulation Dimming, a change that would combat eye strain. Like the standard Pixel 10, the Pro models are expected to turn to the Tensor G5 chipset, with the added bonus of a vapor cooling chamber to help performance. Google could also be lining up larger batteries for all three Pro models, addressing the longevity gap between Google's Pixel phones and leading flagships from Apple and Samsung. Google Pixel Watch 4 Where Pixel phones debut, Pixel Watches often follow. The 2024 Made by Google hardware event saw the Pixel Watch 3 join the Pixel 9 announcement, so we wouldn't be surprised if the Pixel Watch 4 debuts alongside the Pixel 10 phones. We could be surprised by new features, though as Pixel Watch 4 rumors haven't told us much about what to expect. Leaked renders have hinted at a thicker device that offers thinner bezels. The 41mm and 45mm sizes that debuted with the Pixel Watch 3 are set to return. Other details have hinted at additional buttons and wireless charging support. And we'd count on the Pixel Watch 4 introducing new health and fitness tracking features to make the device a more appealing alternative to the Fitbit business Google is slowly winding down. Google Pixel Buds 2A The Pixel Buds A-Series debuted in 2021 as a lower-cost version of Google's Pixel Bud wireless earbuds. A sequel could be coming at Made by Google in August, with a leak earlier this month promising new colors for what's being called the Pixel Buds 2a. A new color shade has also been tipped for the Pixel Buds Pro 2. Apart from the new colors, there's been no rumors about new features for the earbuds, though leaked pricing indicates a €40 price hike in Europe from the current Pixel Buds A-Series. Android 16 The new version of Google's phone software arrived earlier than usual this year, meaning that the Pixel 10 phones will almost certainly ship with Android 16 pre-installed. The only question is whether a new software interface will arrive with it. Google previewed Material 3 Expressive in May, showing off the fluid and bouncy look along with added personalization features. At the time, Google said the interface update would show up on software "later this year," and the August 20 Made by Google date would certainly fall in that description, even if the event figures to primarily focus on hardware. Google gives up and officially teases Pixel 10 amidst avalanche of leaks

Now that the next Made by Google event is official, it's only a matter of time before we get our first official look at the new Pixel 10 lineup. But ahead of its August 20 event, Google shared its first teaser of the Pixel 10, showing us what it looks like from the back. Just before it shared that on its site, there were leaked renders of the phone showing the additional colors that are rumored to be available. I've always given Google credit for giving people variety and it looks like it's going to be more of the same with the next model. Android Headlines shared a new batch of renders purportedly of the Pixel 10, which appears to be flaunting bolder looking paint jobs than in previous years. Don't get me wrong, the current options for the Pixel 9 look great, but it appears that Google's going after a more striking look with the amount of saturation it's adding for the Pixel 10. Just as before, it appears that there will be a total of four colors: Obsidian, Indigo, Frost, and Limoncello. There's nothing out of the ordinary with Obsidian, since it's been what the company has offered for the past several years — but it looks like Porcelain is being dropped for this year. The leaked render looks exactly like the official one Google just shared of the Pixel 10 in Obsidian, but it's on the darker side, which could simply be due to the lighting. Meanwhile, Frost appears to be replacing Porcelain, bringing a slightly cooler color temperature. I really like Indigo, not only because it's a lighter shade than the blue shadow option for the Galaxy Z Fold 7, but because it's been ages since I've seen a shade of blue from Google. In fact, you'll have to go back to the original Pixel from 2016 when a Really Blue option was available. It reminds me of the Galaxy S25's navy option, but Indigo is much more saturated in tone. And finally, there's Limoncello that's a stark contrast to the wintergreen paint job of the current Pixel 9. Again, it's much brighter in tone than previous shades of green — making it pop the most out of all the other colors. However, I'm a little bummed that Peony is being dropped and that it doesn't appear to have a replacement color with the Pixel 10. These new leaked renders also give us additional details that I'm excited about, like how there are three cameras on the back of the standard model instead of the usual two. Rumors hint that Google's giving the standard Pixel 10 series a dedicated 11MP telephoto camera, which would be a first for the series. This would complement the 50MP main and 13MP ultrawide cameras the Pixel 10 is also tipped to come with, adding even more utility to its package than its predecessors. In terms of the overall design, the Pixel 10 doesn't look to be a huge departure from the current mdoels — with the same rounded corners and physical keys on the right side. I'm stoked by these color options because they're brighter and bolder than before, while also giving consumers a bit of variety. The only thing I'm concerned about at this point is the Pixel 10's price, since Google has given us wo consecutive years of price hikes for its flagships. With the introduction of a third camera, it's possible we could be in store for yet another one. I hope not.
