Cabinet Approves Land Transfer for Construction of New Madaba Hospital - Jordan News

In its session held today, Wednesday, and chaired by Prime Minister Dr. Jaafar Hassan, the Council of Ministers discussed regulations and decisions related to health and water services provided to citizens. The Council approved the Medical Committees Bylaw for the year 2025. اضافة اعلان The bylaw aims to organize the work of medical committees, define their levels and jurisdictions, and establish judicial committees in the north, central, and southern regions of the Kingdom—rather than limiting them to the capital. These committees will review disability percentages resulting from traffic and other accidents, thereby easing the burden on citizens. Additionally, the bylaw stipulates the establishment of a central appellate judicial committee in the capital to review objections to the decisions of the regional judicial committees, ensuring justice is served. In line with what Prime Minister Dr. Jaafar Hassan announced during a Cabinet session held in Madaba Governorate last March, the Council approved the transfer of land ownership in the Ma'in area to the Jordan Investment Fund, in order to proceed with the construction of the new Madaba Hospital. The Prime Minister had previously announced the decision to begin the construction and outfitting of a new, advanced public hospital in Madaba, which will include a range of medical specialties. Construction is expected to begin this year and be completed within four years, at an estimated cost of 60 million dinars—reaching approximately 80 million dinars with full equipment. At that time, the Council of Ministers also approved classifying the new hospital project in Madaba as a major infrastructure or development project under the provisions of the Jordan Investment Fund Law No. 16 of 2016, as it is among the projects that KBW Investments and Infrastructure intends to implement. This is the first project of its kind to be executed through a public-private partnership.
