🎥 OTD 2014: Yaya Touré goes solo to bring up Man City's century
In the penultimate game of that campaign, City thumped Aston Villa 4-0 at the Etihad to go two points ahead of Liverpool at the top of the Premier League table.

Earlier goals from Edin Džeko and Stevan Jovetić put the Citizens firmly in control, but the best of the evening definitely came last.
Even with the threat of cramp looming during second-half injury time, Touré decided to run 70 yards of the pitch and curl into the net past Brad Guzan - notching City's 100th goal of the campaign in style.
The goal proved to be Touré's last in a sensational solo 2013/14 campaign, where he scored 20 Premier League goals and assisted nine to help City secure a second title in three seasons.

Free-agent Callum Wilson ends Newcastle stay by signing for Premier League rival West Ham
LONDON (AP) — Former England striker Callum Wilson ended a five-year stint at Newcastle when he signed for Premier League rival West Ham on Saturday. The 33-year-old Wilson, who has penned a one-year contract at West Ham, was a free agent after being unable to agree a new deal at Newcastle. Wilson spent six seasons at Bournemouth before joining Newcastle in September 2020. He said: 'I'm excited to be joining a massive football club like West Ham. A club that shares a similar passion to mine, hard work, dedication...I'm glad to be a part of it." Wilson hit 49 goals in 130 appearances across all competitions for Newcastle. He also scored twice in nine matches for England between 2018 and 2023. 'He is a proven, experienced Premier League striker, with a great work ethic and a fantastic goal-scoring record," said West Ham manager Graham Potter. 'He also has excellent character and personality, which is such an important factor, and something that we place a big emphasis on with our player recruitment." ___

Another Premier League club join the hunt for Sevilla star
A second Premier League club have positioned themselves in the race for Sevilla star Juanlu Sánchez. That's according to market insider Matteo Moretto, who points towards Everton as the outfit in question. The name of defender Juanlu has reemerged as a prominent one in the transfer headlines across the continent over the last 24 hours. This comes after word was forthcoming that Antonio Conte's Napoli have been joined in the hunt for the 21-year-old by Wolverhampton Wanderers. Whilst Napoli have agreed on the personal terms of a contract with Juanlu, a similar accord is yet to be found with Sevilla. As much has opened the door for rival suitors to enter the fray. And as alluded to above, aware of the uncertainty surrounding the situation, another Premier League side, too, have this weekend been credited with an interest in the versatile full-back. As per a report from journalist Matteo Moretto: 'In the last few hours, Everton have also inquired about Juanlu Sánchez.' Conor Laird – GSFN
