Stellar Blade heads to PC on June 11

Engadget15-05-2025
The well-reviewed Stellar Blade will be available for PC players on June 11, after launching for PS5 in April of last year. This release coincides with a system update that brings new outfits and "exciting additional content." The update will be available for both PC and PS5.
The PC version of the game includes some graphical upgrades. It supports NVIDIA DLSS 4 resolution scaling and frame generation, NVIDIA DLAA image enhancement and NVIDIA Reflex latency reduction. It also supports AMD FSR 3 and offers the ability to unlock the frame rate to better suit the needs of a particular PC. It can handle both 21:9 and 32:9 ultrawide resolutions. To view this content, you'll need to update your privacy settings. Please click here and view the "Content and social-media partners" setting to do so.
Stellar Blade was formerly a PS5 exclusive, so the PC version works with the iconic the DualSense controller. This allows for haptic feedback and adaptive trigger features. For everyone else, the game offers customization options for gamepads, keyboards and mice.
As for specs, Sony recommends at least 16GB of RAM, an Intel Core i5 processor and a GeForce GTX 1060. However, that's for playing on the lowest setting.
We now live in a post-exclusive world. Sony has been releasing tons of its first-party games for PC. These include Marvel's Spider-Man and the sequel, God of War Ragnarök and Horizon Zero Dawn , to name a few.

Save money on headphones this Prime Day — here are 3 audio deals to watch out for

Prime Day 2025 is closing in — there's only just over a week from the time of writing before there are some record-breaking deals on all kinds of products at Amazon. But there's only one category that I care about, and that's audio gear. Prime Day is the best time of year to bag a cut-price pair of the best headphones, and I'm here to tell you what models you should be watching out for the most. There are a few headphones launched this year that we should be paying attention to, as well as some that are already reduced. Here are the 3 pairs you should keep a close eye on over July 8-11. Is this cheating a bit? Using a whole brand and headphone family in a list of headphones? No. I make the rules, and I say it's not cheating. Because you should be watching out for the entirety of the XM series when it comes to Prime Day, because its one of the best ways to grab some of Sony's flagships no matter your budget. In fact, you can already grab the Sony WH-1000XM4 for a great price already, and Prime Day isn't even here yet. The XM5s always drop to great prices over Prime Day, and we've had a sneaky peek recently as to what kind of savings to expect on the XM6 after a surprise free gift card. What kind of savings are we looking for? Some lowest prices with some luck. That means a $130 discount for the XM5, and an impressive $220 for the XM4. Anything within $20 of those two is well worth the pickup. We've less data on the XM6 on account of their newness, but I'd like to see anything from $30-$50 off. That would be a suitable discount to make them worth picking up over some of the now more accomplished competition. Sony's older ANC cans are still an excellent option if you're looking to balance flagship performance with a lower price. Their 4.5-star review attests to their solid sound, brilliant noise canceling, and good comfort. 30 hours of battery life is plenty as well, and the case remains the best of the Sony family. The WH-1000XM5 were our favorite headphones for a long time for a good reason. Good sound and even better ANC made sure that they landed an exemplary 4.5-star review, and we're hoping to see a big price drop during Prime Day. Their biggest discount has been $120 — here's to hoping we see something similar again! The latest version of Sony's headphones garnered a 4-star review, with particular note on the vocal clarity and solid ANC. They're a bit more expensive now, and we've no data to predict a discount, but we're hoping for something nice and big. I wasn't expecting anything to dethrone the Sony WH-1000XM5 from their place as the best headphones, but the Bowers & Wilkins PX7 S3 were perhaps the biggest surprise of the year. They're a package that, pound for pound, beats out the WH-1000XM5 and the XM6 in just about every metric. Sound quality, comfort, looks... the list goes on, and on. Just know that if you pick up a pair of the PX7 S3, you're getting our latest pick of the bunch — and it is an accomplished bunch. As for what kind of discount to expect, things are slightly murkier thanks to a lack of discount data. They're another new pair of headphones, but I'm hoping we see at least $50 off over Prime Day. Anything $20 below that would be good, although any discounts are welcome. It would be their first discount too, and there's no time like the present. Bowers & Wilkins' latest set of cans are the best we've seen so far, as demonstrated in their 4.5-star review. They've got the best sound I've ever heard for the price, and they're some of the most comfortable headphones you can put on your head. 30 hours of battery makes sure they'll last a long time, and they've got a super sturdy protective case. The QuietComfort Ultra Headphones might not have the sound or the battery life of their similarly priced contemporaries, but they beat everyone out when it comes to a specific feature. Noise canceling. If you're looking for the best way possible to block out every single noise around you, you've got two options. These, or a pair of industrial ear defenders — and only the Bose options are going to play you sweet, sweet tunes. We have some idea of savings as well, thanks to some price drops over the last year or so. The biggest price drop we've seen has been $120, so I'd imagine we'll see something close to that. Perhaps $100 off. We'd like to see more, of course, but we'll have to wait for the sale proper to see what kind of savings to expect. The Bose QuietComfort Ultra Headphones more than earned their 4.5-star review thanks to the best noise canceling you've ever heard. They might not have the most battery life in the world, but they've got solid, bassy sound and supreme comfort. I love my pair, and it's probable you will too.

5 reasons I still love my Xbox — even if the hardware is 'dead'

Laura Fryer, one of Xbox's founding members, recently declared that "Xbox hardware is dead." As someone who helped create the original Xbox and produced Gears of War, her words carry weight. She argues that Microsoft is slowly exiting the hardware business, pushing everyone toward Game Pass while partnerships like the ROG Ally Xbox edition signal a retreat from traditional consoles. I get it. The writing seems to be on the wall, and Microsoft's strategy does appear focused on services over hardware. But here's the thing — I still love my Xbox, and I'm not ready to declare its hardware dead just yet. While the future might be uncertain, there are compelling reasons why my Xbox remains an essential part of my gaming setup, regardless of what corporate strategies suggest. Yes, Microsoft wants everyone on Game Pass, and Fryer acknowledges the service has "a lot of value." That's an understatement. Game Pass has fundamentally changed how I discover and play games. Instead of agonizing over $70 purchases, I can try dozens of games I'd never have risked buying. I've discovered indie gems, played day-one releases of major titles, and revisited classics all for one monthly fee. The service makes gaming feel more experimental and less precious. When I'm not invested financially in each individual game, I'm more willing to try different genres, give weird indie titles a shot, or jump into multiplayer games with friends. Whether this is Microsoft's master plan or not, the end result is that I'm playing more diverse games than ever before, and that's genuinely valuable regardless of hardware politics. Microsoft's push toward "Xbox Anywhere" might feel like marketing fluff, but the practical benefits are real. I can start a game on my Xbox, continue it on my PC, and even pick it up on my phone through cloud gaming. My saves sync automatically, my achievements carry over, and my friends list spans every device I own. This isn't theoretical convenience, it's something I use regularly. When someone else wants the TV, I can seamlessly switch to my laptop. When I'm traveling, I can continue my progress through cloud gaming. The ecosystem integration that Microsoft has built works so well that going back to platform-locked gaming feels antiquated. Even if the Xbox hardware disappears tomorrow, this foundation makes the platform valuable. Voted the best budget headset in our gaming headsets buying guide, the Arctis 1 Wireless costs less than $100 boasts excellent wireless connectivity, and sound quality is way better than you'd expect at this price. Hardware might be "dead" according to industry insiders, but the Xbox controller represents decades of refinement that's hard to replicate. The build quality, ergonomics, and button layout feel perfect after years of iteration. The triggers have just the right resistance, the analog sticks hit the sweet spot between precision and comfort, and the overall weight distribution feels natural during long gaming sessions. More importantly, Xbox controller compatibility extends far beyond Xbox consoles. It works seamlessly with PC games, cloud gaming services, and even mobile gaming. If Microsoft's future really is hardware-agnostic, then perfecting the controller was smart long-term thinking. A sophisticated yet affordable pad that has rear paddles, hall effect sensors and hair triggers and ll for less than $50. It looks fantastic and has a long cable to accommodate for couchplay. Its lightweight design also feels great. While other platforms focus on remasters and re-releases, Xbox has quietly built the most comprehensive backward compatibility program in gaming. I can play original Xbox games from 2001 on my current console, often with enhanced performance and visual improvements. My digital library stretches back over two decades, and it all works on current hardware. This backward compatibility represents real value that transcends hardware generations. Even if Microsoft moves away from traditional consoles, they've demonstrated a commitment to preserving gaming history that makes me confident my game library will remain accessible. That's not something you can say about every platform, and it makes my Xbox feel less like a disposable device and more like a long-term investment. Despite all the industry drama and strategic pivots, my Xbox still does what I bought it for: it plays games really well. Load times are fast, performance is consistent, and the user interface gets out of the way. I can jump into multiplayer matches quickly, browse my massive Game Pass library efficiently, and switch between games without frustration. Whether Microsoft views Xbox as a hardware business or a services business doesn't change the fact that my current console provides an excellent gaming experience. The games look great, run smoothly, and the overall system feels polished and responsive. Until that changes, I'm not particularly concerned about corporate strategy or industry predictions. Laura Fryer might be right about Xbox hardware's long-term prospects, and Microsoft's shift toward services over consoles seems undeniable. But from where I'm sitting, my Xbox continues to provide exceptional value through Game Pass, seamless ecosystem integration, and a gaming experience that works exactly as advertised. Maybe the future of Xbox doesn't include dedicated hardware. Maybe we're all heading toward a streaming-first, device-agnostic gaming world. But right now, in 2025, my Xbox delivers on its promises. Whether that makes me nostalgic for a dying platform or an early adopter of Microsoft's real vision, I honestly don't care. I'm having too much fun gaming to worry about it.
