Telangana Jagruthi Prez Kavitha urges AICC chief to pressurise Centre on 42 per cent BC reservation
Kavitha, who met BC leader and Rajya Sabha MP R Krishnaiah earlier, said that the Congress government could issue an order to implement the 42 percent reservations for BCs.
Although a bill was passed in the assembly, the central government needs to approve it, she said and demanded that the state government conduct elections to local bodies with 42 per cent BC reservations.
Krishnaiah assured Kavitha of his support for the Jagruti Rail Roko on July 17.
Kavitha, the daughter of BRS chief and former CM K.Chandrashekar Rao (KCR) had earlier also urged the newly appointed BJP Telangana president N Ramchander Rao, asking him to take up the issue as a priority.
Talking to reporters after releasing posters for Telangana Jagruthi's proposed rail roko on July 17, Kavitha said that Kharge's Telangana visit was incomplete without addressing the long-pending BC reservation issue.
She claimed that neither Kharge nor Sonia Gandhi, Rahul Gandhi, or Priyanka Gandhi had ever raised the issue of BC rights in Parliament.
She also demanded that the state should immediately release the caste census data collected at the gram panchayat level, instead of conducting local body elections based on outdated data.
Telangana Jagruthi, in collaboration with the United Phule Front, will intensify its agitation in the coming days, she added. UNI KNR SSP

KCR's policy allowed Andhra Pradesh to pursue G-B project: TPCC chief
HYDERABAD: TPCC president B Mahesh Kumar Goud on Thursday alleged that former chief minister K Chandrasekhar Rao and former minister T Harish Rao pursued a lopsided policy during the BRS regime, which allowed the Andhra Pradesh government to go ahead with the Godavari-Banakacherla (G-B) project, harming Telangana's interests. Addressing the media, Mahesh Goud alleged that KCR, during a visit to former minister RK Roja's residence in AP, had promised to turn Rayalaseema into 'Ratanalaseema' while compromising Telangana's share in Godavari waters. The TPCC chief also targeted the BJP for not appointing a BC leader as its state president, asserting that 'only the Congress consistently implements social justice nationwide.' He mocked Union minister G Kishan Reddy's 'fevicol bond' with KCR and credited CM Revanth Reddy's efforts for the Centre's rejection of the plea by AP for Terms of Reference (ToR) for environmental impact assessment for the Banakacherla project. When asked about Jadcherla MLA Janampalli Anirudh Reddy's claim that 'Chandrababu Naidu's coverts exist in Telangana,' the TPCC chief said the party's Disciplinary Action Committee will look into the issue. The TPCC chief, meanwhile, slammed BRS MLC K Kavitha for writing to AICC president Mallikarjun Kharge on BC reservations, questioning when she began speaking for Backward Classes. 'She never raised her voice for BCs during the 10-year rule of BRS,' he said. He further reminded her that it was her father and former CM K Chandrasekhar Rao who had reduced BC reservations in local bodies. 'Why was she silent then? Why this sudden concern for BCs now?' he asked.

As Kharge reaches Hyderabad, posters accusing Congress of violating Constitution put up in Hyderabad
On Friday (July 4, 2025) when All India Congress Committee (AICC) president Mallikarjun Kharge arrived in Hyderabad, posters and flexi banners were put up at several junctions and bus stops targeting the Congress government accusing it of governing with an iron hand violating the Constitution. The banners without any names of the publishers claimed that the Congress government unleashed violence and atrocities against the people. It was further charged that people were arrested and implicated in false cases for demanding the implementation of [2023 Assembly] poll promises.. Mocking the Congress party's slogan of 'Save the Constitution,' the posters claimed that the government was 'Destroying the Constitution' and harassed people in Telangana. The slogans filled with sarcasm included 'Jai Bapu, violence is our weapon,' 'Jai Bhim, SCs/STs are our goal,' and 'Jai Samvidhan, Constitution is of no importance to us.' Pictures of police arresting people were also included in the posters. The posters appeared overnight, and there was no mention of any political party or the organisations that prepared the posters. The Greater Hyderabad Municipal Corporation (GHMC) was asked to remove the posters put up at public places without any permission. Congress party, however, accused the Bharat Rashtra Samiti (BRS) of resorting to cheap politics and said such posters have become a norm whenever a national level Congress leader tours Hyderabad. The BRS's desperation to paint the Congress government in a bad light has reached the lowest levels, but there are no takers for its claims as people have not forgotten how it suppressed democratic protests, Congress Media Committee Chairman Sama Ram Mohan Reddy said. The BRS - which closed even the Dharna Chowk - talking about suppression is laughable, he said.
