Perin: ‘No Motherf…..' in Juventus dressing room
The Serie A giants suffered a 5-3 defeat on penalties against strugglers Empoli on Wednesday, seeing the Tuscans qualify for the Coppa Italia semifinals for the first time in history.
Coach Thiago Motta was harsh on himself and the team, saying he was ashamed of the result, performance, and even the players' attitude.
Motta even said he and the players deserved more boos after the final whistle.
'Feeling something like this is understandable. However, we feel just as much sadness for what we've done,' Perin said during a post-match press conference on Wednesday via Ilbianconero.com.
'We haven't been at the level this jersey and club deserve. The boos are absolutely justified. We hope to bring out something more. We are the first to be aware of it: probably, giving 100% isn't enough to wear this jersey; we need to give 110% or even 120%.'
Juventus have also been eliminated from the Champions League knockout playoff and are eight points below Serie A leaders Inter.
The Bianconeri's minimum target this season is to qualify for the Champions League. They currently sit fourth in Serie A with a two-point lead over fifth-placed Lazio.
'We absolutely must finish in the top four. Playing in the Champions League next year will be crucial,' continued Perin.
'Hopefully, the elimination in Eindhoven and today's result will ignite a fire inside us. This is a solid group that works well and has a great attitude. There are no motherf***** here.
'There's room for growth, and I hope this defeat hurts us enough to spark improvement as soon as possible.'
Juventus' next game is against Hellas Verona this coming Monday.

Deadline SET for Liverpool forward deal
Chiesa wanted by Napoli One of those touted for a sale has been Federico Chiesa. The 27-year-old appears to be surplus to requirements following a poor first season on Merseyside. He has been left out of Liverpool's preseason tour as he and his representatives attempt to secure a move away. Several teams in Italy - most notably Atalanta and AC Milan - are reported to be interested in the winger. And now it's emerged that Napoli have not gone away - despite reports that they would be seeking a deal for Dan Ndoye of Bologna instead. Chiesa - along with Jack Grealish and Raheem Sterling - remain on Napoli's radar as a potential Plan B in case a deal for Ndoye cannot be done. July 30 the deadline for Chiesa deal And Antonio Conte's side are seeking to wrap up this transfer quickly. A report in Gazzetta dello Sport claims that Conte wants his squad complete by July 30 for his team's preseason training camp at Castel di Sangro. 'Chiesa hasn't been called up by Liverpool for their tour of Asia, and his time in England already seems to be coming to an end. Napoli could offer him the chance to redeem himself, provided the winger reduces his salary demands,' a report reads. Chiesa is making around £120k per week on a contract until 2028 - and Italian sides have previously been put off by those demands. © IMAGO - Arne Slot Federico Chiesa Liverpool 2024-25 Back in January, plenty of interest in Chiesa materialised from Serie A when it became clear that he was homesick. Despite the attentions of the aforementioned teams - as well as Roma and Inter - Chiesa stayed at Anfield. In all he played only SIX times in the Premier League - to no great effect - and barely impressed in his other outings either. If Liverpool can make back the £12.5m or so they paid to Juventus last September - and a resolution can be found over his wages - then expect to see Chiesa leave as soon as this week.

Kilmarnock left back Ndaba flies out for Lecce medical
Lecce will welcome Kilmarnock's Irish left-back Corrie Ndaba for a medical on Saturday before penning the contract, report Sky Sport Italia. The 25-year-old is all set to complete his transfer and put pen to paper on a three-year contract, with option to extend for another two seasons. He can then meet up with the squad in their Bressanone pre-season training camp. (Photo by) Ndaba plays primarily as a left-back, but can also work in central defence, in a more advanced role down the left flank or even in central midfield if required. Formerly of Ipswich Town, Chelmsford, Ayr United, Burton Albion, Salford, Fleetwood and of course Kilmarnock, last season he made 38 competitive appearances for his club, contributing one goal and one assist. The situation is moving rapidly, as Football Insider only confirmed today that Kilmarnock had accepted and offer and he would start talks for personal terms.

Newcastle's Alexander Isak dilemma: Three big questions as transfer rumors rear their head
A few weeks can make a huge difference in evaluating a club's season outlook, and the flurry of reports regarding star striker Alexander Isak have put a worrying cap on a troubling fortnight at Newcastle United. Eddie Howe's goal heading into the offseason was to act quickly in the transfer market, giving him a full preseason to bed-in new signings for a fight on several fronts including the UEFA Champions League. MORE — Premier League Summer Series this week The signing of Anthony Elanga from Nottingham Forest on July 11 was a good start but has so far not signified much other than a single terrific playmaker joining the Toon Army. Isak's exit could set the entire Newcastle project back further than Elanga's arrival moved it forward, but his staying and making double anyone else would fast-forward their plans at a head-spinning pace. Newcastle did not failed to properly fuel their last run in the UEFA Champions League, but will know what it looks like when a plan goes down a peg thanks to that season's unexpected suspension to Sandro Tonali. Howe was ahead of schedule when he led the Magpies to the 2023-24 UCL, where a brutal group draw of AC Milan, Paris Saint-Germain, and Borussia Dortmund saw them claim just five points while exiting at the group stage. That was understandable, especially without Tonali, but it cannot happen again even in the new format if the Magpies aren't heading back to the Champions League for next season. But there are three massive questions revolving around Isak now. Just how good is Alexander Isak? Can the Magpies compete on all fronts without him? Would paying Alexander Isak upset the Newcastle project? Let's start here: He plays in a style that recalls legendary total strikers like Thierry Henry and he produces like a one-man army. Isak's 23 goals in the Premier League last season trailed only Mohamed Salah (thanks in part to Erling Haaland's injuries limiting him to 22). Granted Newcastle had perhaps the most-complete midfield in the Premier League last season, but also consider the men around him on the following lists. minimum 1500 minutes Erling Haaland, 0.78 Mohamed Salah, 0.74 Alexander Isak, 0.71 Yoane Wissa, 0.63 Ollie Watkins, 0.63 Premier League xG=xA/90 minutes (excluding penalties), 2024-25 Bukayo Saka, 1.01 Mohamed Salah, 0.97 Erling Haaland, 0.80 Alexander Isak, 0.79 Kevin De Bruyne, 0.76 Dango Ouattara, 0.76 Yoane Wissa, 0.74 Haaland is the tip of the spear of the best chance-producing team of the last decade, Salah was on the Premier League champions and a European Cup contender, while Saka's Arsenal were sensational while trophy-less. Perhaps more relevant? City, Liverpool, and Arsenal were three of the four top possession teams in the league, all 57% or better. Newcastle were ninth at 51.2% and eighth in big chances. There's no guarantee he'd better with better service, but the probability is very high. Newcastle's next-best xG producers were Anthony Gordon, 35th in the PL, and Harvey Barnes (45th). Isak is exceptional. Newcastle United's Alexander Isak (right) scores their side's first goal of the game during the Premier League match at St. James' Park, Newcastle upon Tyne. Picture date: Wednesday January 15, 2025. (Photo by Owen Humphreys/PA Images via Getty Images) PA Images via Getty Images Well, this is a loaded question that will test the depth of Newcastle's scouting department. Assuming Newcastle would only accept a bid somewhere near their British record evaluation of just over $200 million, the Magpies will be able to bring in a striker who won't fall too far off Isak's levels but the real test is in how Newcastle supplement that move. Say Newcastle woos Benjamin Sesko or another hotshot center forward who would be a safe bet to near 20 goals in the Premier League if healthy. Where will they spend the rest of that money to ensure proper depth for both a top-four challenge and knockout round caliber UCL contestant? I'll call upon a previous argument here. This isn't quite the same case as when Liverpool simply had to accept the crazy Barcelona offer for Philippe Coutinho. It's a lot closer to Real Madrid's purchase of Gareth Bale. And it's about speed. If Newcastle are forced to sell Isak, it is imperative that know exactly where they are going with the money and seal those deals post-haste. Being ready for the start of the season absent such a key piece as Isak requires time. To me, this is the only question that really matters. Newcastle's new ownership have the wealth to make the club one of the world's behemoths. At some point, it will be paying someone like Isak his reported request of a $330,000+ per week pay packet. Fourteen players in the PL made that sort of money last year: Six play for Man City, four for Man Utd, two for Arsenal, and one each for Liverpool and Chelsea. But that $330,000+ would be well over $100,000 more than Newcastle's current top earner in Bruno Guimaraes, a player just a bit older but nearly as important. That doesn't mean every Newcastle player will immediately demand a raise, but it will mean that new additions and blossomed stars will no longer measure their offers by Guimaraes.
