Road reopens after man hurt in lorry and van crash

A section of the A46 in Warwickshire has reopened after it was closed for several hours following a serious crash between a lorry and a van.
In an update at about 13:00 BST, National Highways said the road southbound between the A45 for Coventry and the A452 Kenilworth had reopened.
A man in his 20s, a passenger in the van, was taken to hospital with serious leg injuries, not believed to be life-threatening, Warwickshire Police said.
The driver of the van was also taken to hospital with injuries not thought to be serious, West Midlands Ambulance Service added.
Emergency services had been working at the scene following the crash, which happened at about 03:30 BST.

Man fighting for life after M60 incident closes motorway

A man is fighting for his life in hospital after an incident on the M60 closed the motorway on Sunday afternoon (July 27). Emergency services, including police and paramedics attended the incident between junctions 11 at Eccles and 12 for the M62 Eccles Interchange. A diversion was put in place, with the closure affecting both the clockwise and anticlockwise carriageways. A statement from National Highways read: "The M60 in Greater Manchester is closed in both directions between J11 (Eccles) and J12 (M602) due to a Greater Manchester Police led incident. The motorway later reopened in both directions shortly before 4pm. A GMP spokesperson said: "Emergency services are currently responding to a concern for welfare on the M60. The M40 on the Oxfordshire border is closed in both directions due to a 'fear for welfare incident'. The motorway is closed between junction six for Chinnor and junction five for Stokenchurch, with police estimating it is likely to remain shut for a number of hours. A spokesman for Thames Valley Police said: "The M40 is currently closed in both directions between junctions five and six following a fear for welfare incident. "We would advise motorists to avoid the area at this time." A spokesman for National Highways said: "Due to a police-led incident, the M40 is closed in both directions between junction six (Chinnor) and junction five (Stokenchurch). "Thames Valley Police is on scene and is currently leading the response to the closure. National Highways traffic officers are also on scene assisting with [[traffic]] management. "Delays are heavy around the area approaching an hour, so please allow plenty journey time and alternative routes."

Police say one person suffered minor injuries following a collision on the northbound carriageway between Rivington Services and junction eight, at Chorley.
