Fury as mum-of-six reserves sun beds then leaves Spanish resort for breakfast
It is not just the realisation that you lost the sunbed war, but that you lost it to someone who's not even there.
Well, a British mum has sparked fury after she admitted bagging sunbeds for her big family, just to head out for the day.
Mother-of-six Stephanie, 29, posted a clip of her holiday to Fuerteventura in Las Palmas, Spain, revealing she claims the loungers early in the morning before heading off to breakfast and a shopping trip.
The 'day in the life' video has wracked up more than 120,000 views and has been met with criticism questioning her tactics.
Stephanie told her followers: 'First things first, we have to claim our sunbeds at the pool area. We have come as a big family so we have to be there early.'
However instead of heading for a swim straight away, the family ditch the pool entirely to go for breakfast elsewhere in town.
After enjoying an 'amazing' full english, the mum then went shopping while the towels reserved the sunbeds.
It was only after the trip that the family headed back to the pool and made use of the loungers.
Keyboard warriors were quick to jump on the video and criticise Stephanie for reserving the beds then heading into town.
One commented: 'I can't believe you claim the sunbeds and then leave.'
Another wrote: 'Why claim sun beds if you're going out for the day?'
A third TikToker suggested hotels should take action to stop this kind of behaviour.
They said: 'All hotels should do the same thing. After 30 minutes of not being on sun lounger, towels are removed and other people get them.'
The social media storm follows a study which revealed which parts of the UK are worst for reserving sunbeds abroad. More Trending
The West Midlands came in first, with 15% of locals admitting to waking up early to reserve a lounger.
The situation was similar in Wales, North East England, the North West or Northern Ireland, where 13% fessed up to this controversial practice.
The best behaved were Yorkshire and the Humber and South West England.
Just 8% of holidaymakers admitted to being a sunbed hogger, according to GetYourGuide.

Powerful 5.3-magnitude earthquake rattles Greek holiday island with tourists 'leaping from sunloungers'
A powerful 5.3 magnitude earthquake rocked a Greek holiday hotspot today, with tourists left fearing for their lives. The huge quake took place at 4.26 pm local time on Wednesday, with the epicentre around 13 miles off the coast of Antikythera, Greece's Geodynamic Institute said. The tremble, which had a focal depth of 36 miles, was reportedly felt in some parts of the Greek holiday island of Crete, which is popular among British tourists. No casualties have been reported, but locals described how terrified tourists 'jumped out of their sun loungers and asked if this was normal and if there was a fear of a tsunami'. Others described how the tremor made items in their homes move and how they heard loud banging sounds as buildings swayed. One local said that 'it felt like the whole building moved slightly', while another described how they 'heard a rumble' as the 'house shook.' According to a 2.6 magnitude quake was detected at around 5.30am this morning, followed by a 2.2 magnitude tremor at 6.40am. The epicentre of all these tremors were located between Antikythera and Crete. A powerful 5.3 magnitude earthquake struck Greece today between the islands of Crete (pictured) and Antikythera Your browser does not support iframes. The Greek island of Antikythera lies just south of the Peloponnese peninsula and northwest of Crete and is a growing tourist destination thanks to its ancient Greek ruins and stunning beaches. Crete, meanwhile, is Greece's largest and one of its most famous islands, drawing in millions of holidaymakers every year. The earthquake off the coast of Greece comes a month after hundreds of firefighters battled raging wildfires off the island of Chios. Towering walls of flames tore through forest and agricultural land on the island, where authoritieS sent firefighting reinforcements from Athens, the northern city of Thessaloniki and the nearby island of Lesbos. Apocalyptic scenes captured in images and videos showed firefighters battling the flames as the wildfires raged on, while thick plumes of black smoke filled the sky. Other footage showed helicopters spraying water over smoke-filled fields. It also comes just five days after a powerful earthquake hit the Italian city of Naples and its surrounding region. Local residents reported hearing a 'roar' and feeling a 'strong tremor' as the 4.6 magnitude quake struck at around 9.15 am last Friday. The epicentre of the earthquake was just off the coast of the highly active Phlegraean Fields, a volcanic caldera west of the city, at a depth of 1.5 miles. Multiple people living nearby in the seaside town of Bagnoli said it 'seemed like a bomb' had gone off when the quake hit. It measured the same magnitude as an earthquake recorded in the region on March 13, the strongest to hit the region in 40 years. 'We rocked a lot... I'm still shaking,' one woman, living in the Vomero district of the city, told La Repubblica. Another local, who lives in the western Fuorigrotta suburb, described the experience as 'terrifying'. Rail traffic has been temporarily suspended in the city, which is home to more than 900,000 people. This is a breaking story, more to follow.

The UK passport just dropped down the global power rankings
Ever stopped to think about your 'passport privilege'? If you own a British and Northern Irish passport, there's a chance that you've taken for granted just how many countries it allows you into. With that powerful little blue book (or burgundy, if you've still got an old one), we can freely enter more nations than most other people on the planet. Four times each year, the Henley Passport Index from Henley & Partners ranks 199 passports based on how easily their holders can travel the world. UK passports have always placed reasonably high on the ranking, but in Henley's most recent report it has suffered a slight fall. There are actually 36 countries in Henley's top 10, with a lot of nations sharing a rank. But in at number six, all on its own, is the UK. That's two places down since last year's index (after falling to number five at the start of the 2025). Right now, British passport owners have visa-free access to 186 places around the world. In mid-2024 that number was at 191. Our passport enjoyed the number one spot for three consecutive years from 2013 to 2015 but since then has largely been on a downward trajectory. The lowest it has ever been was in 2020 and 2021 when it was booted down to seventh place. Still, we can't really complain — the UK passport remains one of the strongest in the world. We're not alone in tumbling down the index — the US passport was bumped down from ninth to 10th place, which is its worst position since the index started in 2006. Dr Juerg Steffen, the chief executive officer at Henley & Partners, said: 'Americans are now leading the demand worldwide for alternative residence and citizenship options, with British nationals also among the top five globally. 'As the US and UK adopt increasingly inward-looking policies, we're witnessing a marked rise in interest from their citizens seeking greater global access and security.' While the top 10 is dominated by European nations, three Asian states sit on the podium. Singapore's passport topped the chart for the second year in the row with access to 193 destinations, followed by Japanese and South Korean passports, which both allow holders into 190 countries visa-free. Afghanistan remains at the bottom of index. Its citizens can only access 26 other countries visa-free.
