Joshua Jackson reveals where he stands with ‘Dawson's Creek' ex Katie Holmes
Joshua Jackson, who played Pacey Witter on the hit WB drama, shared insight into his friendship with co-star and former girlfriend Katie Holmes, who played his on-screen love interest, Joey Potter.
'Katie and I are very close,' the actor, 46, revealed while on Jesse Tyler Ferguson's 'Dinner's on Me' podcast on Tuesday.

The exes dated in real life from 1998 to 1999. Jackson went on to have daughter Juno with ex-wife Jodie Turner-Smith. Holmes was married to Tom Cruise for nearly six years; they welcomed daughter Suri Cruise, now 19, in 2006.
Jackson is also still friends with Michelle Williams (Jen Lindley), Busy Philipps (Audrey Liddell) and James Van Der Beek (Dawson Leery).
'Busy and Michelle are very, very close,' Jackson went on.
'It's not a daily call. Sometimes it's not a weekly or monthly or even a half-yearly call, but when you're together — there's always that, 'I know, you know.''

The 'Doctor Odyssey' star is also rallying around Van Der Beek, 48, as he battles Stage 3 colorectal cancer.
'James is going through something really truly terrible right now,' Jackson explained. 'And I wish I could take credit for this, but I was kind of the absentee partner here, but the girls all got together and were like, 'We need to do something to help this guy out.''
After having been on one of the most popular teen drama's for six seasons from 1996 to 2003, the actor made it clear that the group is bonded for life.

'There's probably no other people in your life that you are that forged to,' Jackson stated. ''Cause you had to go through good and bad and 'F–k you' and 'Don't talk to me,' and 'I love you.''
The 'Fatal Attraction' alum's comments come on the heels of Philipps, 45, teasing the possibility of a 'Dawson's Creek' reunion.
'We're really trying to figure something out, but there are a couple of people who have some work things that cannot be moved,' the actress told Us Weekly in March. 'It's like playing chess, trying to get everybody's schedules to align. I'm very hopeful that at some point we will.'

She added, 'Everybody is, and I'm so glad to see and hear from James — and I know he posted on Instagram that he's feeling well — and we just have all been really sending him every ounce of good wishes and prayers and hoping for the best.'
That same month, Van Der Beek opened up about how the cast originally didn't stay in contact after the series ended.
'I've gotten in touch with them recently and it's just been so nice,' he shared while on Jana Kramer's 'Whine Down' podcast at the time.

'It's just been so great to talk to them and catch up with like who they are now this many years out and to have that shared experience from back in the day,' Van Der Beek noted. 'It's just so lovely every time I get to catch up with one of them.'
After the show ended, the cast went on to star in a slew of new projects, and didn't keep in close communication.
'We all went our separate ways and just didn't speak for years because we were just living our lives and doing our things,' Van Der Beek admitted. 'And to just kind of reconnect and be like, 'Oh, wow, I love who you've become.''
The cast reunited for an Entertainment Weekly photo shoot in honor of its 20th anniversary in 2018.

The '90s series quickly became a cult classic as fans followed Joey as she navigated school after the death of her mother and juggled a love triangle with Dawson and best friend Pacey.
Van Der Beek was happy to move away from the show and pave his own career at first, but these days, he doesn't mind reminiscing.
'I have such a nostalgia for it,' he gushed. 'I don't know whether it's just time or what, but yeah.'

Based on facts, either observed and verified firsthand by the reporter, or reported and verified from knowledgeable sources. Newsweek AI is in beta. Translations may contain inaccuracies—please refer to the original content. A viral Instagram video of an unlikely friendship between a puppy and a Highland calf has captured the internet's heart. The clip, shared to @rosiesgoldenscotland, has now racked up more than 6.5 million views and shows a golden retriever puppy named Rosie snuggling beside a Highland cow calf in the Scottish Highlands. The pair appear utterly content, with the calf enthusiastically licking Rosie's face in an affectionate display that has left viewers swooning. The video, captioned from the dog's perspective, reads: "I made a new pal yesterday - a wee Highland coo calf. Spent a good 15 minutes snuggled up, even lay down and refused to leave. If you're looking for me, you know where I will be." Clearly, Rosie has made quite the impression on her bovine companion, and the wholesome interaction has earned over 441,000 likes and thousands of comments. "Who can be more affectionate than a golden retriever? A golden cow," wrote one user. Another added: "Absolutely stunning, both lovely animals. Highland Cows are my favorite." A third viewer declared: "This is the cutest thing I've ever seen." And a fourth commented: "She has found herself a foster 'mom' that just wants to love her with licks." TikTok/@rosiesgoldenscotland A Moment of Joy, But a Reminder Too While the video showcases a tender and rare moment of interspecies affection, animal welfare organizations are using the attention to remind pet owners about the potential dangers dogs pose to livestock—even unintentionally. According to Blue Cross, a U.K. animal charity, dogs have a natural instinct to chase moving animals, a behavior that can lead to serious, even fatal, consequences for farm animals. Why Livestock Are at Risk from Dogs Some dogs—especially herding or hunting breeds—are more likely to exhibit chasing behaviors. While many can walk calmly on a lead around livestock, instincts can kick in suddenly and without warning, making it essential to keep dogs leashed and closely supervised near farm animals. Even dogs that don't physically touch livestock can cause significant stress or harm simply by running toward or barking at them. The Blue Cross highlights several risks: Injuries : Animals may flee in panic and injure themselves by falling or colliding with barriers. : Animals may flee in panic and injure themselves by falling or colliding with barriers. Stampedes : Frightened livestock can bunch together in fear, potentially crushing smaller or weaker members of the group. : Frightened livestock can bunch together in fear, potentially crushing smaller or weaker members of the group. Miscarriages: Pregnant animals may lose their young due to extreme stress. What may look like playful behavior from a dog's perspective can result in very real distress for livestock. Keeping Encounters Safe While heartwarming videos like Rosie and the Highland calf are a delight to watch, experts urge dog owners to exercise caution and prioritize animal safety on farms and in the countryside. The responsibility lies with pet owners to ensure that these serene moments stay joyful—and never turn harmful. Newsweek reached out to @rosiesgoldenscotland for comment via Instagram.
