Customer's horror as 'worst possible thing' falls into her drink at Mexican restaurant

Carletta Andrews had just finished dinner with her husband, when she felt something hit her forehead. She then saw the snake curling around the straw in her margarita
A woman who was out having dinner was left shaken after a snake fell from the ceiling and fell into her cocktail.
Carletta Andrews has spoken of the moment she had just finished dinner with her husband, when she felt something hit her forehead.

She was at the Patron Mexican Restaurant and Cantina in Sandston, Virginia, USA, when she suddenly say saw the little snake land in her half-finished margarita.

The snake had dropped from the ceiling, shocking everyone in the restaurant, including the staff as well as fellow dinners.
Carletta told local reporters she is "scarred for life". She said: 'I looked at my husband like what was that. When I turned around, I saw the snake in my margarita.'
She said the snake — a baby of indeterminate species — started curling itself around her drink's straw.
She added: 'I kept saying please don't let it go in my purse. I left shaking, I was traumatised.'
Restaurant workers rushed in to try to remove the snake with a stick. Another patron then grabbed the snake and released it back into the wild.

Mrs Andrews said the restaurant offered to move her to a booth, but she just wanted to go home She added that she wants to know how this happened, and where the mother snake could be.
She added: 'If that was the baby, I fear… is the mum there?'

A Patron Mexican Restaurant and Cantina spokesman told 8News the snake may have gotten into the ceiling through an air conditioning unit.
The eatery was noted last December for a number of violations, including mould, broken handles, missing ceiling tiles, cracked floor tiles throughout the kitchen, and leaky ceiling tiles, but had addressed the issues within six days of being notified.
Back in September last year, the Mirror reported on a furious movie-goer who claimed she was bitten by a snake while watching a film.

Kornphaphiporn Poka-imsin was transfixed on the big screen playing the tornado flick 'Twisters' when she felt a sharp pain in her foot at the Major Cineplex in Central Rama 2 in Bangkok, Thailand. She said she performed first aid on herself at the cinema but claimed she was later placed in the ICU of a hospital when the seemingly innocuous wound got worse.
Photos show two puncture wounds on the 27 year old's left foot from where the creature sank its fangs into her. She reported the incident to police but claimed officers told her to negotiate with the cinema management over compensation.
She said: "I was watching the movie Twisters at around 2pm. When the movie ended, I felt something slither past my feet, so I moved it. The animal was probably startled and bit my feet, causing a sharp pain that faded into numbness.
"I did not know what to do so I performed first aid on myself by squeezing the blood out of the wound. I went to see the doctor by myself and was told that it was definitely not a rat, based on the bite marks. I stayed in the ICU for one night."

Jet2 joins Jess Glynne in slamming White House using viral audio for deportation video

The White House used viral audio from a Jet2 advert in a post earlier this week and now the airline has addressed the situation after singer Jess Glynne shared her thoughts Airline Jet2 has said that it does not endorse a post shared by the White House promoting deportation that includes viral audio from its Jet2holiday advert. It comes after Jess Glynne, whose song features in it, spoke out over the post. ‌ Shared on X earlier this week, the post in question includes a video that shows people being handcuffed and escorted on to a plane. The caption read: "When ICE books you a one-way Jet2 holiday to deportation. Nothing beats it!" ‌ The caption references the viral audio, included in the video and the original Jet2 advert, in which voiceover artist Zoë Lister says over Jess' song Hold My Hand: "Nothing beats a Jet2holiday and right now you can save £50 per person. That's £200 off for a family of four." Zoe spoke to the Mirror about the original advert going viral recently. ‌ Jet2 has now addressed the situation following the post attracting much attention on social media. A spokesperson for the holiday provider said that it was "not endorsed by" them and expressed disappointment over the post. A spokesperson for and Jet2holidays told the PA news agency: "Our branding has become something of a viral phenomenon this summer and we are pleased to see how many people have used it in good humour. This has put a smile on many people's faces, just like our holidays do." ‌ They added: "We are of course aware of a post from the White House social media account. This is not endorsed by us in any way, and we are very disappointed to see our brand being used to promote government policy such as this." Although met with some support, the White House's post has also been criticised recently. It includes from singer-songwriter Jess, who, as previously reported, issued a response to it on Tuesday after it was uploaded on X. ‌ Jess, whose song Hold My Hand features in both the video in the post and the actual Jet2 advert, wrote: "This post honestly makes me sick." She added: "My music is about love, unity, and spreading positivity - never about division or hate." The controversy comes after the audio from the Jet2 advert has gone viral in recent weeks. It's become a meme on social media, including internationally, and, according to PA, it's been used in more than 1.9 million videos on TikTok. Zoë, who has worked on the Jet2holidays voiceovers for seven years, is said to have been taken by surprise when she noticed the audio had gone viral. She teased recently that it has "turned into the best ad campaign for years". Earlier this month, Zoë met Jess on Capital Breakfast to recreate the advert live on the radio show. Jess spoke about now performing her song Hold My Hand at concerts, saying she thinks fans are waiting to hear Zoë's script. Jess told the station: "It's mad because I feel like when I do my gigs, I feel like when I go to sing the hook, I feel like they're waiting for me to go 'nothing beats a Jet2 holiday'. It is tempting but I need to take this seriously, it can't be a joke."

JoJo Siwa's ex Kath Ebbs goes public with new romance

Kath Ebbs was in a relationship with JoJo Siwa before she was dumped for Chris Hughes. Kath Ebbs has revealed their new romance this week. ‌ This comes just three months after the content creator revealed to followers that JoJo Siwa had ended their relationship shortly after departing the Celebrity Big Brother house. ‌ JoJo, 22, became close to fellow contestant Chris Hughes, 32, during her stint on the reality programme in the UK. The finalist was then reported to have split from partner Kath, 27, at an afterparty in April and has since hinted at a potential romance with Chris. ‌ Now, Kath, who previously indicated they felt "hurt" by JoJo's bond with Chris during the show, has revealed they are in a fresh relationship themselves, reports the Mirror. This follows Chris's recent defence of his connection with JoJo following social media backlash. Kath turned to Instagram this morning to reveal their romance with footballer Tilly Lucas-Rodd, 29, who competes in the AFL Women's division of the Australian Football League. ‌ They posted a snap showing the pair looking smitten in a photobooth. Alongside the image, Kath seemed to reference their past with JoJo in the caption: "The rumours are true! YES I still (stupidly) believe in love!!". The post has garnered over 13,000 likes on the platform with supporters sharing their reactions in the comments. One follower commented: "Entered your WAG era and I'm livin for it." ‌ Another added: "Ah yes! Things we love to see!" A third fan expressed: "The happy ending you deserve (and we all wanted! )." One person shared their joy, saying: "So happy for you." Another added: "Congratulations." ‌ This news follows Kath's revelation a few months ago that JoJo had ended their relationship at an afterparty following the Celebrity Big Brother final in April. Kath explained: "I flew here and I went to the live show to show up for my partner and support them in their experience and then obviously later on address my feelings of like hurt and work through them like all relationships do." Kath continued: "But before I could even get back to the hotel I ... it's actually crazy, I went to the after party with my I guess now ex, crazy thing to say, and was dumped in the party. I was told that there are confused feelings there - do with that what you will - and that they realised in the house that I wasn't the person that they wanted to spend the foreseeable [with]." ‌ JoJo later discussed the situation while appearing on This Morning. She admitted: "I'll be honest - that was not a plan. That was not an intention. That was not supposed to happen like that. Initially I was told that y'know the wrap party was something they didn't want to attend." She went on to say: "Then about an hour into the wrap party they decided they wanted to. And so I was genuinely just gonna have a conversation before and then it just led to another. They straight up asked me if I was happy and I said no. And one thing led to another and that conversation did take place there."

Justin Timberlake diagnosed with 'debilitating' disease as he shares health battle

Justin Timberlake has taken to social media to share that he has been diagnosed with Lyme disease, just one day after the end of his Forget Tomorrow World Tour. Justin Timberlake has opened up about his health struggles, revealing he suffers from a "relentlessly debilitating" illness. The disclosure came shortly after the ex-NSync star concluded his Forget Tomorrow World Tour. ‌ At 44, Justin turned to social media on Thursday to share his diagnosis of Lyme disease with his followers. In an Instagram post, he reflected: "As I'm reflecting on the tour and festival tour - I want to tell you a little bit about what's going on with me. ‌ "Among other things, I've been battling some health issues, and was diagnosed with Lyme disease - which I don't say so you feel bad for me - but to shed some light on what I've been up against behind the scenes, reports the Mirror. ‌ "If you've experienced this disease or know someone who has - then you're aware: living with this can be relentlessly debilitating, both mentally and physically." He shared his initial reaction to the diagnosis: "When I first got the diagnosis I was shocked for sure. But, at least I could understand why I would be onstage and in a massive amount of nerve pain or, just feeling crazy fatigue or sickness. I was faced with a personal decision. Stop touring? Or, keep going and figure it out." ‌ The pop icon explained that he chose to press on with performances because "the joy that performing brings me far outweighs the fleeting stress my body was feeling". He also expressed his contentment with his choice, saying, "I am so glad I kept going". He revealed that his choice demonstrated his "mental resilience" whilst creating far happier memories for himself and the audience - an experience he vows will remain with him forever. I am trying to be more transparent about my struggles so that they aren't misinterpreted." ‌ In his heartfelt message, he pledged to support others battling the condition. Justin then expressed gratitude to everyone who helped make his touring dreams a reality, saying: "There really is no way to put into words the feeling of being on a stage and getting to share the experience of live music with all of you. "It's a vibration of frequency that is unmatched. Sacred to me. I honestly don't know what my future is onstage but I'll always cherish this run! And all of them before! It's been the stuff of LEGEND for me." ‌ Concluding his message, Justin paid tribute to his wife and children, declaring: "You are my heart and my home. I'm on my way." His devoted followers were swift to shower him with support in the comments. One fan wrote: "Thank you for being open and thank you for pushing through to continue performing! I saw you 3x this tour and each time was phenomenal! I wish I could've seen more shows! We all love you and thank you for giving us all you do!".
