Samsung One UI 8 Beta Version Coming To Galaxy S24 Models This Month
Last Updated:
Samsung One UI 8 beta program is moving quickly which means the older Galaxy phones and foldables should be getting it in the next few weeks.
Samsung One UI 8 beta program has already started in select regions and soon the company will offer the Android 16-based version for the Galaxy S24 users along with older Galaxy Z Fold users. New reports claim the One UI 8 beta update will be coming to these devices by the end of this month.
The One UI 7 update was delayed beyond everyone's expectations and was released with the Galaxy S25 series in January this year. But the company is looking to avoid those issues with One UI 8 and these beta program extensions suggest the plan is moving at the right pace.
The details about how Samsung plans to bring One UI 8 beta to more devices has been shared by a tipster named Tony Tech on X. The post claims Samsung will bring the One UI 8 beta version to Galaxy S24 series models which includes the S24 Plus, S24 Ultra as well as the Galaxy Z Fold 6 and Flip 6 models.
The roll out could start as early as this week for these devices. He further points out that even the Galaxy S23 series models along with the Galaxy Z Fold 5 and Flip 5 versions should get the One UI beta version by the end of June. And he wraps up the One UI 8 beta schedule by talking about the Galaxy S22 series along with Galaxy Z Fold 4/Flip 4 variants getting the Android 16 version in early July.
Google has already moved to the final phase of the Android 16 release which will be getting the design overhaul later this year.
The One UI 7 upgrade was Samsung's biggest in terms of the design UI overhaul, but the One UI 8 version is likely to see incremental changes, which seems to have helped its cause and offer a faster OS rollout this year. We will wait for the company to share the official timelines but the details seem fairly believable.
Samsung Galaxy Z Fold 7 and Flip 7 are launching on July 9 and will be the first to get the One UI 8 update out of the box. Before that, the company wants to ensure that the platform is stable, bug-free and the features work as expected.

Has ChatGPT evolved beyond being a 'Google replacement'? OpenAI CEO Sam Altman says it is already doing much more
If you've ever found yourself asking ChatGPT for vacation ideas, SEO strategies, or even emotional advice, you're not alone. More than 400 million users now rely on ChatGPT every week, making it the fifth most visited website globally, according to OpenAI CEO Sam Altman . But while it's become a near-constant presence in digital life, the real question is: has ChatGPT evolved beyond its early reputation as a Google alternative? Altman certainly thinks so. In recent remarks at Y Combinator, the OpenAI chief clarified that while ChatGPT may have started as a more conversational search engine, its trajectory has shifted dramatically. 'For a long time, ChatGPT was like a Google replacement… it still felt like a more advanced version of search,' Altman said. 'But now, it's like a very junior employee that can work on something for a short period of time.' Not Just a Search Engine Anymore According to a report by Search Engine Journal, Altman emphasized that ChatGPT's goal is no longer limited to retrieving information. It's about doing things—completing tasks, automating workflows, and even proactively assisting users. Features like memory, reasoning, and integration with business tools are pushing ChatGPT toward becoming a true assistant. 'Memory is the first time where people can sort of see that coming,' Altman said, referring to ChatGPT's new ability to remember preferences and previous conversations. This shift supports OpenAI's broader vision of AI not just as a knowledge engine, but as a platform that connects to user data and performs tasks independently. New model releases like GPT-4o and O3 are tailored for deeper reasoning and complex workflows. 'The technology is moving faster than most businesses can adapt to it,' Altman noted, suggesting that the current capabilities are ahead of widespread use cases. Has ChatGPT evolved beyond being a 'Google replacement'? OpenAI CEO Sam Altman says it is already doing much more
While ChatGPT's popularity surges globally, experts agree it won't replace Google. Instead, it complements search by helping users explore ideas and synthesize information. As AI tools become more integrated and assistive, ChatGPT is shaping a future where it doesn't just answer questions—it helps users think, create, and complete tasks more efficiently across work and life. ChatGPT has moved far beyond being just a Google rival. According to OpenAI CEO Sam Altman, it now functions like a junior assistant—handling tasks, remembering preferences, and automating workflows.
