Pune: The State Common Entrance Test (CET) cell has set up a student help centre in each of the 36 districts in the state.
The centre, one in a college in every district, is expected to provide students and parents with information and guidance regarding the admission process for various professional courses in the state as well as resolve any issues encountered during the same.
Both parents and teachers have praised this initiative, emphasising that help centres are vital for clarifying doubts and offering guidance during the crucial admission period.
Explaining the importance of such centres, Rajini Nair, a parent whose son is awaiting admission to undergraduate engineering courses, said, "The brochure for all courses is uploaded online but still doubts remain. And since admission to a UG college has a huge role to play when it comes to the overall development of the child, it is crucial that nothing goes wrong when applying under the centralised admission process.
While there are helpline numbers, they are not always reachable. But if there is a person whom I can speak to, it makes a huge difference as I can get my doubts cleared in one go."

Gurgaon: The Haryana Staff Selection Commission (HSSC) conducted the Common Eligibility Test (CET) 2025 over the weekend. Held in four sessions across 145 examination centres in the city on Saturday and Sunday, a total of 1,32,209 candidates appeared for the exam. According to official data, 33,040 candidates appeared in the first session on Saturday, followed by 32,963 in the second. On Sunday, 33,108 candidates took the morning session, and 33,098 appeared in the afternoon session. To facilitate the transportation of Faridabad-based candidates to centres in Gurgaon, 135 buses were arranged in both sessions over two days. Deputy commissioner Ajay Kumar visited examination centres on Sunday and kept a close watch on arrangements throughout the day. From the first to the third round, a total of 8,13,727 admissions were confirmed against the 14,29,234 students who applied. Students can apply for round IV of the admission process online on July 28 and 29, until 6.30 pm. The allotted students can confirm their admissions on Aug 1 and 2. All junior colleges and higher secondary schools in the state must start classes for Std XI before Aug 11, 2025, stated an official notification from the Directorate of Secondary and Higher Secondary Education.
