Prime Video's Ballard release date, cast, trailer and what to expect from Bosch spin-off
Ballard is Prime Video's next big crime drama with fans eager to know everything about the upcoming book adaptation.
The third and final series of Botch: Legacy came out earlier this year with the last season introducing Detective Renee Ballard (played by Maggie Q) as she helped Harry Bosch (Titus Welliver) with a particularly complex case.
Now Ballard is getting her own show, based on the work of author Michael Connelly, who is also behind the Bosch and The Lincoln Lawyer book series.
Ahead of its debut, here's everything you need to know about Ballard.
Ballard release date
There is only a matter of days left to wait before Ballard premieres with the Bosch spin-off coming out on Wednesday, 9th July, on Prime Video.
All episodes are going to be dropped on this initial release date so fans will be able to binge-watch whenever they want.
Ballard cast
Leading the cast as Detective Renee Ballard is actress Maggie Q who is famed for playing Hannah Wells in Designated Survivor and portraying the titular character of Nikita for three years.
She is joined by Fargo and The Founder star John Carroll Lynch who is behind Ballard's retired former police partner Thomas Laffont.
Meanwhile, Ozark's Michael Mosley plays reserve LAPD officer Ted Rawls, The Client List star Rebecca Field as volunteer Colleen, Plan B's Victoria Moroles as legal intern Martina and 50 First Dates actress Amy Hill as the detective's grandmother Tutu.
It has also already been confirmed that Bosch actor Titus Welliver will be reprising his role for Ballard.
What to expect from Ballard
Ballard is tasked with leading the LAPD's newly established but under funded cold case division after she is forced to take a break from the homicide division.
She investigates various complicated, unsolved crimes, one of which is a string of serial killings and a murdered John Doe.
Ballard is able to get to the bottom of cases with help from her team of volunteers as well as a friendly face in Bosch.
On top of her workload, Ballard has to deal with her personal struggles which made her leave the homicide division in the first place.

Clarkson's Farm's Kaleb Cooper celebrates birthday by partying with huge chart topping pop star
Click to share on X/Twitter (Opens in new window) Click to share on Facebook (Opens in new window) CLARKSON'S Farm star Kaleb Cooper celebrates birthday in style - and fans were stunned to see him alongside a huge music icon. Kaleb, known for his no-nonsense charm on Clarkson's Farm, looked chuffed to be ringing in another year with a touch of star power. Sign up for the Entertainment newsletter Sign up 6 Clarkson's Farm's Kaleb Cooper celebrated his birthday partying with the huge chart-topping pop star Myles Smith Credit: Instagram 6 Myles swapped his casual attire for a more country style and even posed outside one of Kaleb's tractors Credit: Instagram The farming favourite, now 27, was all smiles as he celebrated with none other than rising chart-topper Myles Smith - who's taken the music world by storm in recent months. The pair posed for snaps together as Kaleb took a selfie with Myles inside his famous huge tractor. They beamed at the camera as they wore co-ordinating checked shirts, and Kaleb showed him how to drive the tractor. Kaleb captioned the smiley snap: "Great Birthday so far! Partying with @MylesSmithUK". Myles even posed outside of the tractor - and looked tiny next to the beast, standing the same height as the front wheel! The singer kept it cool and casual for the countryside bash, rocking a pair of khaki shorts and crisp white trainers as he soaked up the rural vibes in style. This comes after Kaleb came to the rescue after an oil spill from a farm machinery crash closed a road near Diddly Squat. A hedge cutter fell off the back of a flatbed trailer and smashed into the A3400 in Chipping Norton, Oxfordshire. The snapped tank cap slathered the rural road in hydraulic fluid and sent cars with slippery tyres skidding. Kaleb spotted the oil leak on his way to a nearby bailing job. Jeremy Clarkson breaks silence on sexy new farmhand Harriet as he confirms 'replaced' Kaleb Cooper's future on show The dad-of-two helped lift the busted hedge cutter off the road and called the police to alert them to the dangerous oil spill. A source said: 'Kaleb was on the way to a baling job nearby, came round the corner and realised the oil had just leaked all over the road. 'He acted quickly to avoid the spill causing a serious accident, by calling one of his team at his agricultural contracting business to come and help him lift the machine off the road. 'They contacted the police to come and make the road safe for other drivers." Who is Clarkson's Farm star Kaleb Cooper? By Conor O'Brien Hailing from Chipping Norton, farmer Kaleb Cooper shot to fame by appearing in Prime Video series Clarkson's Farm. The hit show follows Jeremy Clarkson in his journey managing Diddly Squat Farm - which he'd owned since 2008. Born and bred in the area, Kaleb has become Jeremy's right-hand man and sort of farming mentor. Viewers have watched the pair light-heartedly 'clash' - with Kaleb usually ridiculing Jeremy's efforts. Three series have aired - with a fourth on the way - significantly raising Kaleb's public profile. Away from the screen, the farmer is also a father to two young children Meanwhile, another Clarkson Farm star, Harriet Cowan, traded her muddy wellies for a glamorous dress in a stunning new photoshoot for Country Life. The 24-year-old became an instant hit with viewers as she mucked in at Diddly Squat while Kaleb Cooper took some time away from the show. In the new edition of Country Life, beaming Harriet posed in a summer dress and knee-high cowgirl boots as she perched on a tractor tyre. She was joined by beautiful pooch Tyke, who obediently stood on its hind legs beside her. Despite only turning 24 earlier this year, Harriet is no stranger to the farming world. She has already landed a brand deal with Country Moos ahead of the show - a sock company dedicated to cow-designs. Harriet has also become very popular on Instagram, and has been teasing fans with snippets of her life away from Clarkson's Farm. Last month she sizzled in a bikini as she shared a sexy selfie on holiday. Fans are desperate to know if Harriet will remain on the farm when Kaleb returns and, so far, she's keeping coy, telling them: "Hmm we will have to see." 6 Kaleb came to the rescue after a hedge cutter fell off the back of a flatbed trailer and smashed into the A3400 Credit: Andy Robinson 6 The dad-of-two helped lift the busted hedge cutter off the road and alerted the police Credit: PA 6 Harriet Cowan posed in a glam frock for Country Life Credit: Mark Williamson for Country Life magazine.

Molly-Mae Hague is surrounded by camera crew while picking up daughter Bambi, 2, from ballet class as she continues filming for second season of her Amazon docuseries
Molly-Mae Hague was ever the doting mum on Thursday, as she picked up her daughter Bambi from her ballet class in Cheshire, all whilst being filmed by a dedicated camera crew. The former Love Island star, 26, revealed she'd begun filming the second season of her documentary series, Behind It All, last month. The Prime Video series saw the influencer give fans a glimpse into her life, from running her clothing brand to parenting two-year-old Bambi. And Molly-Mae looked in cheerful spirits as she filmed new scenes on Thursday morning, holding her daughter's hand as they left her morning dance class in Hale Barns. She was joined by her pal Erin Jones, who also kept hold of little Bambi's hand and carried her beloved soft toy - an apt plushie of Disney deer, Bambi. While two cameramen followed close behind the trio, carrying heavy film cameras and sound equipment. And Molly-Mae looked in cheerful spirits as she filmed new scenes on Thursday morning, holding her daughter's hand as they left her morning dance class in Hale Barns Molly-Mae cut a casual figure for the outing, sporting a butter yellow T-shirt and white linen trousers, with her hair slicked back into a tight bun identical to Bambi's. She shares her daughter with on-again boyfriend Tommy Fury, who she recently reconciled with, after their surprise split in August last year. However, MailOnline revealed last month that the boxer, 26, still won't appear on her docuseries, despite the couple being back together. It was previously confirmed that Tommy is unable to show his face on the Prime Video series due to his contractual agreements with the BBC as he films documentary The Good, The Bad, The Fury, set for release later this year. Molly-Mae confirmed Behind It All would return for a second season last month, after the first became a viral hit at the start of the year. Writing on Instagram, she gushed: 'My mood because it's filming day ONE for SEASON 2!!! 'I can't believe I'm saying this but because of all of your love and support with 'Molly-Mae: Behind It All'… we are coming BACK with another season! Pinch me.' A TV source explained to MailOnline that the second series will be less 'relationship focused' as Molly continues to build her 'business empire' and navigate family dilemmas with mother Deborah and sister Zoe. Molly-Mae confirmed Behind It All would return for a second season last month, after the first became a viral hit at the start of the year An insider said: 'Molly-Mae was over the moon that Behind It All was so well received and popular among her fanbase, she's more than happy to continue sharing more personal aspects of her life with the cameras. 'This season will be as jam-packed as the last, with Molly testing living arrangements, taking on challenges, and making some life altering decisions, all while managing her business ventures. 'Viewers shouldn't expect to see Tommy on the show because he still won't appear even though him and Molly are very much together now.' The debut six-part docuseries became the streamer's most watched show on Prime Video by young women aged 18-34. It followed Molly-Mae as she navigated her public breakup from Tommy, who later revealed the reason for their split was because he had been struggling with alcohol addiction. It also tracked the launch of Maebe, Molly-Mae's first fashion brand, and her complicated relationship with sister Zoe, who felt protective over the YouTuber getting back with Tommy before they had properly worked through their issues. It comes just days after the star opened up about the realities of being a mother, as she admitted she wasn't sure if she was 'cut out for this'. The influencer admitted she is 'selfish' as she discussed the stresses of parenthood, as she explained that Bambi has refused to eat for the past three days and was being 'absolutely impossible'. In her most recent vlog posted on YouTube on Monday, Molly-Mae candidly said: 'I'm having one of those days, toddler mum days, where I question, "Am I actually cut out for this?" 'When I watch people's videos and hear them talking about motherhood and how much every single minute they love it and I sit there and think, "Is there something wrong with me as a mum?" 'I can't sit there and say that every single minute I love it and I'm having one of those days. 'I don't even know if I'll put this in the video, but I'm having one of those days where this is really not fun. Not all of it is enjoyable. I don't know how to explain it.' Molly-Mae, who has a £6million fortune, continued: 'I'm having one of those days where I'm finding [Bambi] impossible, absolutely impossible. 'Every single thing I try and ask her to do, she will not listen to me. She literally, on purpose, will do the opposite of everything I say or ask. 'The simplest things, she hasn't eaten in like three days because she is refusing to eat. I'm finding it really, really hard. 'Just simple things, there's been a new carpet put down at Tommy's house and we don't want to wear new shoes on the carpet, but telling her to take off her shoes and not walk on the carpet, it's the biggest tantrum and meltdown you've ever seen. 'She screams that much and gets that upset… I'm in this constant battle of I don't want to spoil them and let them win and not discipline them but also, where do you draw the line and give in because she's screaming so much that I'm not going to win this one.' Asking fans if she should be 'finding it as hard' as she does, she confessed to havng doubts about whether she wanted to have any more children. She continued: 'The fact that there's mums out there that do it with zero support from any family or anyone and have multiple children…the concept of having multiple children, I can't even. I don't know how anybody does that. I just don't. 'I want to have another baby at some point because I want to give Bambi a sibling, but the idea of this times by two, I don't know if I could ever do it. I don't know if I'm cut out for it.'

Stars of new thriller The Assassin appear as trailer released
Prime Video also released the action-packed trailer for The Assassin on Thursday, which features Hawes as retired assassin Julie – who is forced to fight for survival alongside her estranged son Edward, played by Freddie Highmore. The trailer shows Hawes transformed into a gun-wielding action woman, complete with blood-splattered face and clothes. 'I used to do bad things. For money,' she says in one scene. Hawes and Highmore appeared for a photocall at the Soho Hotel in central London alongside other actors who appear in the new series, including Shalom Brune-Franklin and Devon Terrell. The six-part thriller sees the characters Julie and Edward forced to flee an idyllic remote Greek island and go on the run together when Julie's dangerous past catches up with her. Hawes previously said she felt 'so lucky' to have spent last summer in Athens with the 'wonderful' Highmore and the 'high-calibre' cast and crew. The series is the latest project by writing duo brothers Harry and Jack Williams, who produced the hit comedy Fleabag and created the thriller series The Tourist starring Jamie Dornan. Hawes has previously starred in hit series including Line Of Duty, Bodyguard and Spooks, as well as Channel 4 drama It's A Sin and ITV political drama Stonehouse. Highmore, who starred as the titular character in Charlie And The Chocolate Factory as a child, previously said it was a 'joy' to work on the project. 'It doesn't get better than a Greek adventure alongside the lovely and incomparable Keeley Hawes,' he added.
