Titans' uniforms named one of the worst in the NFL
USA Today01-07-2025
The Tennessee Titans are in the process of totally changing everything about the organization. Not only will they have a new quarterback on the field, but they are also preparing a brand new stadium across the street.
While fans will have to wait one more season before the new Nissan Stadium is unveiled, it's the rumor of an overhaul of their uniforms that appears to have people excited. Unfortunately, no timeline is available for when this will happen, and this is not good news for some NFL fans who voted the Titans as having one of the worst uniform combinations in the NFL.
These results, released by Zach Cohen of Fanduel Video, show the Titans coming in at No. 31, with only the Washington Commanders behind them.
Now, this is just one small poll with 585 voters, but it may be one of the reasons the organization has announced changes to their uniforms in 2025, ahead of the release of their new uniforms. Earlier in the offseason, the organization announced that it was embracing its history and using light, 'Titan Blue' as the color of its primary home jersey.
"We're talking to fans and we're listening, and there's a clear appetite to have the Titans, their team, represented on the field in this noticeable color that has been with this team from 1960 in Houston, into Memphis, at Vanderbilt and as we've played at Nissan Stadium," Titans President and CEO Burke Nihill said in a statement.
Of course, immediately after this statement, the team announced that they would not be using their Houston Oilers throwbacks in 2025. While this decision is understandable, given the team's embrace of the color scheme in 2025, it still hit hard due to the popularity of the jerseys.
After that, the uniform talk went dormant until Cam Ward's introductory press conference, when organization icon, Warren Moon, surprised the young signal caller with his No. 1 jersey. Afterward, the Hall of Famer teased the new uniforms and hinted that one of the reasons for allowing Ward to unretire his jersey number was that he felt it was unlikely the Oilers jersey he made famous would ever see the field again.
Moon told reporter Kay Adams at the time, 'The Tennessee Titans have new uniforms coming. A whole new set, and I've seen glimpses of them, but it's not the Houston Oilers jersey.'
When exactly, no one knows, but if you were to guess, 2026, coinciding with the stadium's opening, would likely be a good guess. Unfortunately, this means making those 585 voters who dislike the uniforms wait for any significant changes.
