30-year-old Toronto man charged with break-ins, harassment, and threats

Toronto police say they have arrested a man following a series of break-ins, threats, and assaults in the city's east end.
It's reported that on Saturday, officers received a call at around 11:30 a.m. near Queen Street East and Broadview Avenue.
Police allege that a man known to the victim unlawfully entered an apartment on three separate occasions, stealing property and subjecting the victim to threats, harassment, and assault before fleeing.
The suspect, who police identify as 30-year-old Peter Nowaczek, of Toronto is now charged with multiple offences, including two counts of break and enter with intent, one count of break and enter to commit and theft under $5,000 in addition to several other charges.
He is scheduled to appear at the Toronto Regional Bail Centre on Monday.

Knife pulled on employee in Cambridge shoplifting incident: police
A 44-year-old man from Cambridge is facing charges after police say he pulled a knife on an employee during a shoplifting incident. Waterloo Regional Police responded to a store near Pinebush Road and Hespeler Road around 1 p.m. Sunday after receiving reports of a man brandishing a weapon. Investigators say the man had stolen merchandise and was being escorted from the business when he allegedly pulled out a knife and threatened a staff member. The suspect was arrested nearby without incident. No physical injuries were reported. The man is charged with robbery and uttering threats to cause death. He was held in custody for a bail hearing.

Traffic stop nets drugs, charges in northern Ont. First Nation community

(Supplied/Anishinabek Police Service) A man and woman from Sagamok First Nation are facing multiple charges after a traffic stop late Friday night led to the seizure of suspected drugs. The Anishinabek Police Service said an officer on general patrol 'observed a dirt bike with no lights on travelling with an electric bike being driven by a driver with no helmet.' When the officer activated emergency lights, the dirt bike driver initially slowed before fleeing at high speed. The electric bike was stopped, and police confirmed the driver was suspended and in possession of illicit substances. A search yielded approximately 7.15 grams of suspected fentanyl, 27 grams of suspected cocaine or crystal meth, and less than one gram of crystal meth. As a result, a 32-year-old woman faces charges including failing to stop, driving while under suspension, and 13 counts of drug possession. She was released on an undertaking with conditions and future court appearances scheduled. Police later located the dirt bike driver. 'The driver of the dirt bike that fled the initial traffic stop was subsequently arrested at a residence in Sagamok First Nation,' authorities said in a news release. As a result, the 32-year-old man was charged with failing to stop and released with a future court date. The Anishinabek Police Service reminded the public that community safety is a shared responsibility.
