Road in North Dumfries Township closed following crash into hydro pole
In a social media post, the Waterloo Regional Police Service said Sheffield Road was closed between Seaton Road and Morrison Road because of the reported crash.
Police said a driver lost control of their vehicle while driving the road, which was covered in water. The driver then struck a hydro pole, causing damage.
No one was hurt.
Police said the road was closed as crews worked to repair the pole. They said there was no timeline for when the road would reopen.

Lewvan Drive, 13th Ave reopened after serious crash
A crash involving a car and a motorcycle closed down Lewvan Drive and 13th Avenue for several hours on July 1, 2025. (Rhonda Nye/CTV News) Following a serious collision in the area, the Regina Police Service reopened Lewvan Drive and 13th Avenue early Wednesday morning. The crash, which involved two vehicles, resulted in one person being transported to hospital by paramedics. Police say they sustained 'serious' but ultimately non-life-threatening injuries. Serious head-on collision near Ariss sends five to hospital
Five people have been taken to hospital after a two-vehicle crash near Ariss on July 1, 2025. (Hannah Schmidt/CTV News) A serious head-on crash outside of Ariss has sent five people to hospital. Wellington County Ontario Provincial Police say the two-vehicle collision happened around 11 p.m. Tuesday on Wellington Road 86 between Eighth Line East and Sideroad 16 in Guelph-Eramosa Township. Emergency services responded to the scene. Both vehicles were severely damaged.
