Prince Harry 'to invite Royal Family to Invictus games' in possible reconciliation move
Prince Harry is reportedly preparing to extend an invitation to his family for the 2027 Invictus Games in what is seen as a meaningful gesture towards reconciliation after years of strained tension.
The Duke of Sussex is believed to be aiming to repair his relationship with his father, King Charles and his brother Prince William, following the controversy surrounding his 2023 memoir Spare, which further strained his ties with the royal family.
Former invites to the games are expected to be sent later this month.
According to The Mail on Sunday, Harry is hoping that by giving the royal family plenty of notice - as senior royals often plan their schedules up to three years in advance - they will be able to attend the event.
"Harry has agreed that Invictus should extend an invitation to his family. Invictus hopes the Royal Family will come along to support the wounded veterans taking part," a source stated to the Mail, continuing: "Harry is hopeful his father will set aside their differences to attend the Invictus Games and support veterans."
"The Royals have always been hugely supportive of Invictus and proud of what Harry has achieved in that arena. This is one olive branch from him which might be reciprocated."
If King Charles and Prince William accept the invite, it would mark the first time Prince Harry has been pictured with the royal family since the funeral of his grandmother, late Queen Elizabeth II.
Although not everyone is convinced that the father and son duo will accept the strained Prince's invite, with royal expert Katie Nicholl stating: "The King absolutely wants a relationship with his youngest son and with his grandchildren."
"He has an incredible capacity for forgiveness and he wants to be magnanimous in all of this and therefore there's certainly a possibility that the King might consider attending Invictus," she continued.
Ingrid Seward added: 'The King might attend to show support for the Armed Forces and congratulate Harry on the most significant success in his life."
"The only reason the King is wary of associating with his son is that he no longer trusts him not to repeat their private conversations as he has done in the past. This goes for all the working members of the family," she expressed.
The 2027 Invictus Games are set to be held at Birmingham's NEC from 12 to 17 July, overlapping with Queen Camilla's 80th birthday celebrations.
Despite the overlap, the royal family has traditionally shown support for the event, which Prince Harry established in 2014 to honour wounded, injured and ill servicemen and women.
However, it's still unclear whether Harry's wife Meghan and their children Archie and Lilibet will make the trip to the UK, for the games.
Harry previously stated that a family visit would be challenging following his loss in a legal battle in May over his entitlement to police protection while in Britain.
Last month, Harry acknowledged that his relationship with his father, King Charles, had broken down due to the ongoing security dispute, telling the BBC: "He won't speak to me because of this security stuff... I don't know how much longer my father has."
Looking at the broader family tensions, he added: "Of course, some members of my family will never forgive me for writing a book... for lots of things. But you know, I would love reconciliation with my family. I've always... there's no point in continuing to fight anymore. Life is precious."

Love Island under fire as viewers slam bullies with over 9000 Ofcom complaints filed
Love Island has been hit with over 9,000 Ofcom complaints as viewers slam the ITV show for screening 'bullying' scenes Love Island has been hit with a large number of Ofcom complaints after scenes featuring Shakira aired on the show. The ITV2 hit is coming close to the end, with the finale just days away. Outraged viewers lodged complaints with broadcasting regulator Ofcom over scenes they felt showed the Islanders to be bullying Shakira. In total 9,339 complaints were submitted on this issue, with an additional 298 concerning Blu's treatment of Toni. Elsewhere, Ofcom received 55 complaints about Megan's return to the villa, and a further 29 complaints expressing concern for Harry following his breakup with Helena and his emotional confession about his feelings for Shakira. This comes after Harry's unusual fetish was revealed on the show, sparking disgust among fans for a very specific reason, the Mirror reports. This emotional scene unfolded last week and at the start of this week, as both Helena and Shakira broke down after being manipulated and set against each other. With the return of the Grafties to the villa, even more heartache followed. Shakira had decided to call it quits on her relationship with Conor, confessing she had "suppressed emotions" over Harry. In the video clips played out at the Grafties, Harry was seen flirting with Shakira and saying it was a "good idea" for the pair to start fresh and get to know each other again. Later Harry confessed to Conor that he felt that he and Helena, who he asked to become exclusive with days prior, shared just a friendship connection and nothing more, but his bond with Shakira felt more "natural". Both Shakira and Helena struggled to watch the Grafties clips showing Harry's behaviour, and they broke down multiple times as they learned the truth. Following the events from the Grafties, Harry and Shakira had a conversation, with him confessing: "I have really tried with her [Helena], but we had like a week and it was, for me, the feelings were obviously way stronger and still are. I'm sorry I never tried again. I really thought the door was just, like, slammed." She replied: "Do you want some home truths… it's obviously the way you go about it and the steps you take in between to come to these conclusions obviously hurt people along the way." "It's all well and good you saying 'hold my hands up guys, sorry' but you still hurt people. And it's a pattern," she continued. Harry then bluntly stated: "Look, I'm either leaving here alone or with you." Love Island returns tonight, with the grand finale set to air next week (August 4) as the public votes for their winning couple. Several dumpings are expected in the lead-up, as the remaining Islanders are gradually narrowed down before the final.

Biggest feud in Love Island history reaches boiling point as stars go head-to-head and vow to NEVER speak outside villa
LOVE Island's Shakira and Meg's feud reached boiling point last night as they vowed to NEVER speak to each other outside the villa. The group gathered for the Couple Goals game but it quickly erupted between the girls when Meg claimed she had "always been nice" to Shakira, despite viewers watching her gossip behind her back. 3 3 Things came to a head when the Islanders were asked "Which couple are you most scared to give your honest opinion on?' Shakira and Harry chose Meg and Dejon, which left them raging. Meg told them: "I think if people were honest in the first place and told us to our faces instead of saying it constantly behind our back, it would be a different story." Shakira responded: "You throwing around the fake word is rich to be honest. "I don't know why you keep acting like we're the best of mates in here. "From day one, you were very standoffish with any girl that was posed as a threat." Meg fired back: "I think you've called every single person in this Villa fake," to which Shakira said: "No, I will never pretend to be your mate." A furious Meg hit out: "You won't be my friend on the outside." Shakira felt the same and replied: "I will never speak to you on the outside. I honestly can't stand you sometimes." Things went from bad to worse as Toni and Blu were left exchanging insults around the firepit. 'He's obsessed with her!' rage Love Island fans as stars clash in dramatic challenge The US star admitted she was "over it" as Blu tried to get a rise out of her before cruelly calling her a "pick-me girl". ITV2 viewers were left shocked over the scenes and branded it the most "hostile" series ever. One wrote: "I've watched love island since series one and this series is hands down the most uncomfortable to watch. This girl divide is f****n awful. The smart ass comments thrown about, the sly digs, the ganging up on 1 girl…it's actually draining." A second posted: "'I've never seen such a hostile final week omg these lot are about to start a world war… "It's the final week and there's STILL drama??? this literally never happens,' 'The most toxic love island season ever." A third said: "The most toxic love island season ever - they really hate each other and it will be awkward for them on the outside." Another added: "The Great Villa Divide of 2025 is alive and well. 'I've never seen THIS strong of a divide in the villa before." Earlier in the game, Meg insisted she had always been a friend to Shakira, which left viewers baffled. There was tension between Harry and Dejon and also Harry and Blu throughout the game, but the atmosphere really heated up when the couples had to answer the question, "which couple is the most fake?" Meg and Dejon chose Shakira and Harry, with Meg giving the reason: 'I feel like Shakira, you've made some very hurtful comments to me that we're not very nice and I've always been there for you.' Shakira was left less than impressed and said to Harry, 'The gloves are off now' as tensions flared, yet again, between the girls. Fans reacted with disbelief to Meg's comments. ''I'VE ALWAYS BEEN NICE TO YOU' Mug is such a f*****g LIAR," wrote one person on X, formerly Twitter. Another added: "When has Meg ever been nice to Shakira?" And a third posted: "Sorry but Meg saying 'I would have considered you a friend' to Shakira?!? Are you ok?! This just highlights everything Shakira etc. have been saying. Like be real, you guys aren't friends and stop pretending you're this saint. It's laughable!!" Throughout the series, the villa girls have been divided with two clear friendship groups emerging over the course of the ITV2 programme. On one side have been Shakira, Toni and Yasmin who have been fiercely loyal to one another and stood by each other in times of need, while Meg and Helena, as well as Megan, have made up the other half of the main villa divide. The two groups tried to put their differences aside, days after a huge row at the explosive Grafties ceremony. The ladies decided to hug it out and put an apparent end to the bubbling feud between them. But with less than a week to go and with tensions at an all time high, it looks like there will be no reconciliation on the cards. 3

Dancing with the Stars Grand Finale set to be rocked by shock kissing scandal
Dancing with the Stars is set to be rocked by a shock kissing scandal on Sunday's grand finale. According to an eye-witness, 63-year-old funnyman Shaun Micallef is set to go one step too far with host Chris Brown on the glittering final dance-off. A source revealed exclusively to Daily Mail this week that during filming Micallef planted a kiss on the lips of Brown in front of the studio audience - leaving the famed TV vet lost for words. The moment came in a post-dance interview on the Sky Deck during the Dancing With the Stars grand finale. Brown, who has been good humoured about the comedian's relentless kidding around all season, was suddenly stopped in his tracks when Micallef appeared to 'proposition' him. From A-list scandals and red carpet mishaps to exclusive pictures and viral moments, subscribe to the DailyMail's new showbiz newsletter to stay in the loop. 'We should get some lunch after this, is this really happening?' Micallef joked as Brown reviewed the scores. 'He then went in for a kiss and they locked lips, leaving Brown in shock', the source revealed. 'He seemed to lose all composure for quite a while after that.' Micallef then turned to the camera, recalled the eyewitness, and said, 'That [kiss] is not for Channel Seven.' A spokesperson from Seven confirmed the 'interaction' took place, was not cut from the final edit, and will air during Monday's episode when Shaun and his dance partner Ash-Leigh Hunter strut their stuff in the Grand Finale. It comes after fan favourite Osher Günsberg was shown the door during a dramatic episode of Dancing with the Stars earlier this season. Taking to the ballroom with a Tango routine backed by David Bowie 's 1980 hit Fashion, the TV host put in a feverish performance that failed to impress the judges. Taking his cue from the evening's 'Kings and Queens of song' theme, judge Craig Revel Horwood did not mince words when delivering his verdict. 'Well that was a right royal mess! I don't know what that step was, coming down the ramp, darling, but it was fumbled...' Craig began, but a furious Osher interrupted. Visibly annoyed, Osher snapped, 'Would you like to try going down that Perspex ramp in those heels, sir? You're more than welcome to show me.' He continued to rage: 'But I need you to be doing it in a tango step while the person next to you is on one foot kicking, and you're holding their momentum against you. After you!' Craig seemed taken aback by the fiery exchange, replying to a fuming Osher, 'That is not my job'. He then continued on with his critique despite the tense atmosphere, which had host Sonia Kruger visibly shocked. 'It was completely erratic,' Craig said, after dismissing Osher's remarks. Craig told the frustrated TV personality, 'You were making mistakes left, right and centre.' Fellow judge Mark Wilson did offer Osher some words of encouragement, telling him that he admired his determination to improve his dancing skills. However, the final score was a dismal 15 points and Osher was sent home. Dancing with the Stars competitors are now set to head into the Grand Finale on Monday.
