Prince Harry & his upstart wife must be honest about their money – they've made millions from the royals, claims expert
Click to share on X/Twitter (Opens in new window) Click to share on Facebook (Opens in new window) PRINCE Harry and Meghan Markle must be 'honest' about their money, having made millions from the royal family. This comes as Kensington Palace has confirmed Prince William pays the highest rate of income tax on his private estate, the Duchy of Cornwall, however, the amount was not disclosed. 5 It has recently bee revealed that Prince William pays the highest rate of income tax on his private estate Credit: Getty 5 Royal experts have said if Prince William is asked for his financials to be revealed, so should Prince Harry Credit: The Mega Agency Broadcaster Esther Okraku argued that if some people think the Prince of Wales should reveal the tax amount, so should his brother Prince Harry. Speaking on The Sun's Royal Exclusive show, she shared: 'It's an uncomfortable conversation that I think is completely unnecessary, and I think if you're going to have those conversations, then you might as well have them about Harry as well, he inherited, what, £10 million from the late Queen Mother.' The Sun's Royal Editor Matt Wilkinson chimed in: 'Again, that's all very secretive. We don't know the exact figures.' Esther continued: 'Exactly, but why is no one asking him? 'I mean, him and his upstart wife arguably haven't earned that money by any means. 'You know, why aren't we criticising them? Because it's just distasteful. 'And I think we should extend the same courtesy to William.' HARRY'S GOLDMINE Both Harry and William received a hefty inheritance from their late mother, Princess Diana, who died in 1997. The People's Princess left just shy of £13 million to her sons, which was reduced to £8.5 million after death duties. This swelled to over £20 million thanks to years of savvy investments by royal advisors. Harry spent hours slagging the royals on Oprah and Netflix, there's only one way he'll win William round He may be the youngest, but Harry reportedly got a bigger inheritance from their great-grandmother Elizabeth Bowes-Lyon, known as the Queen Mother, after she passed away in 2002. She left an estimated £70m fortune, including works of art and house contents, to her only surviving daughter, Queen Elizabeth II. But years prior in 1994, the Queen Mother also put two-thirds of her money into a trust fund for her great-grandchildren. 5 Prince Harry inherited a sizeable amount from the Queen Mother, who died in 2002 Credit: Getty 5 Harry and William also have money from Princess Diana Credit: Getty - Contributor William and Harry were set to share about £14 million from the investment, the BBC reported in 2002. However, it was reported that the bulk of the cash went to Harry because William will 'benefit financially' by becoming king. William is first in line to the throne, while Harry is fifth in line. He follows William's children with Princess Kate: Prince George, Princess Charlotte, and Prince Louis. The Duke and Duchess of Sussex stepped down as senior working royals in 2020, and have since relocated to California and live there with Prince Archie, six, and Princess Lilibet, four. As well as using Prince Harry's inherited money, they have since earned cash through their deal with Netflix, Harry's Spare memoir, and Meghan has also launched her As Ever brand. WILLIAM'S CASH 5 Prince William received an annual private income of £22.9 million in the last financial year Credit: Getty This comes as it has been revealed that Prince William received an annual private income of £22.9 million in the last financial year, which fell from £23.6million for the previous year. Unlike his father, King Charles, he declined to reveal his tax bill. It comes after questions on Duchy incomes, which pays for the Waleses' role in the Royal Family, were raised on Channel 4's Dispatches. Wills pays the top rate of tax on his income from the estate. He promotes affordable housing through the Duchy.

Queen ‘saw straight through Meghan' & branded her and Harry a ‘catastrophe' in weeks before she died, insider reveals
An insider has revealed the late queens thoughts on the couple NOT IMPRESSED Queen 'saw straight through Meghan' & branded her and Harry a 'catastrophe' in weeks before she died, insider reveals Click to share on X/Twitter (Opens in new window) Click to share on Facebook (Opens in new window) THE late Queen allegedly branded Prince Harry's relationship with Meghan Markle a "complete catastrophe" in the weeks before she died. An insider has revealed how the late monarch "saw straight through Meghan" in the lead up to her passing in September 2022. Sign up for Scottish Sun newsletter Sign up 3 The queen is alleged to have seen 'straight through Meghan' Credit: Getty 3 Harry and Meghan stepped down from royal duties in 2020 Credit: Getty Journalist and royal biographer Sally Bedell Smith revealed the queens thoughts on her Substack Royal Extras. Bedell Smith previously told how Harry had been rude to his grandmother during a meeting about his wedding with Meghan refusing to reveal details about her death. Bedell Smith said the interaction left the queen "saddened." The Duke and Duchess of Sussex have always claimed their relationship with the Queen was warm despite the rift between them and other senior royals. According to a source, Bedell Smith says, the queen made some strong remarks about the Sussexes at Balmoral just weeks before her death. A group of guests at the Scots castle were alleged to have been privy to some strongly worded comments made by the late queen about Harry and Meghan's union. It came just months before her majesty sadly passed away in September 2022. A source said: "It was out of character for the she saw straight through Meghan. "At the drinks before the dinner, a small group were talking to the monarch and she explained that Harry meeting Meghan had become a complete catastrophe." "By this point we all knew the Queen's health was in decline and she had months left, she seemed regretful about how things had panned out." Harry and Meghan made the Queen's last years a complete misery - they'll NEVER be forgiven At this point the Sussexes had stepped down as working royals and were living in Montecito. When 'Megxit' was announced the late Queen Elizabeth said in a statement: "Harry, Meghan and Archie will always be much loved members of my family." The Duke and Duchess of Sussex stepped down from royal duties in 2020 and went on to publicly criticise the family in their 2021 Oprah Winfrey interview. The relationship began to break down in the run up to Harry and Meghan's wedding according to insiders. 3 The relationship is alleged to have began to break down in the lead up to the Sussexes wedding Credit: AP In the run up to the Harry and Meghan's wedding at St George's Chapel in Windsor in 2018, the queen is alleged to have said her grandson was "besotted and weak." She also worried that his bride-to-be had manipulated the prince, while getting away with a raft of bad behaviour. The Queen's first cousin is alleged to have said just days before Meghan and Harry's wedding: "We hope but don't quite think she is in love. We think she engineered it all." According to Bedell Smith, when Harry and Meghan announced their plans to step down as working royals in 2020 the queen tried to find a compromise to stop 'Megxit.' The couple said at the time that they were stepping back to gain more financial independence and avoid the prying eyes of the media. Inside Prince William and Prince Harry's 'feud' TENSIONS have been running high in the royal family since Prince Harry stepped down from royal duties in 2020 and relocated to California with Meghan Markle. Their last reported interaction was during the funeral of their grandmother, Queen Elizabeth II, in September 2022, but conversations were said to be brief. The feuding brothers reportedly did not speak to each other despite standing 'virtually back to back' among mourners at their uncle's memorial service last year. Growing up, Wills and Harry shared many of the same friends who were part of their close, tight-knit circle. But their relationship took a sour turn after Harry lobbed vile allegations against the Prince of Wales in his memoir Spare - and they are said to have not been in direct contact since the 2023 release. In the book, he claimed William had physically attacked him and knocked him to the floor in 2019 and made insulting comments about Meghan. The Sussexes had also targeted Princess Kate, when Meghan claimed the royal made her cry. The bitter feud was ignited when the Sussexes told Oprah, in their 2021 sit down interview, that certain members of the Royal Family had speculated about Prince Archie's skin colour. It was later claimed the royals were Princess Kate and King Charles, after Harry and Meghan's former pal Omid Scobie published his hatchet-job book Endgame. During the infamous Oprah interview, the duchess also made stinging comments about the Firm and how they handled her mental health struggles. Prince William and Harry's bond then worsened after the Sussexes made a number of accusations against the Royal Family in their 2022 Netflix docuseries. The duke has given subsequent interviews, such as his most BBC chat in May 2025, that have only propelled bad blood.

Alan Titchmarsh shares 'heartbreaking' discovery after returning home
Alan Titchmarsh shares 'heartbreaking' discovery after returning home TV gardening presenter Alan Titchmarsh shared how his Hampshire garden has been overrun by wildlife - but not in a good way. Alan Titchmarsh shared his 'heartbreaking' discovery after welcoming wildlife to his garden (Image: Getty ) Like many green-fingered enthusiasts, Alan Titchmarsh loves the vast array of wildlife that frequents his garden. However, he recently revealed that inviting wildlife into your garden comes with its share of drawbacks. Alan, who is appearing on our screens today on ITV's Love Your Weekend, shared that although he did not anticipate large creatures like otters in the wildlife pond he dug about 15 years ago in his Hampshire home, he did have hopes for smaller aquatic visitors. "Newts and dragonflies, damselflies and perhaps the odd kingfisher," he said. In a conversation with BBC Gardeners' World Magazine, Alan recounted how he initially enjoyed a bustling ecosystem of tiny creatures skimming across his pond – until an unexpected turn of events. "But then, from somewhere," he said, "probably on the webbed feet of a visiting duck, roach arrived." Roach are resilient freshwater fish that can grow up to 14 inches and survive under challenging conditions. Researchers have noted that roach often persist when other species vanish in polluted water bodies. Alan's most heartbreaking wildlife experience, he says, was the destruction of his beloved cherry blossom. (Image: 2019 Neil Mockford ) Article continues below "Thinking it was just another form of wildlife to gleefully add to my list, I bought some fish food," Alan continued. "Whenever I sprinkle it on the water, the surface turns into something reminiscent of that scene in the James Bond movie where the baddie is eaten by piranhas. The once limpid pool becomes a foaming cauldron for fully 30 seconds before all the food disappears." As reported by GloucestershireLive, not satisfied with Alan's sporadic offerings of fish food, the roach also wiped out the insect population that had brought him such joy during his pond's early years. In an attempt to rebalance nature, Alan nurtured the development of an alder tree above the pond, making it simpler for any passing kingfisher to identify the roach concealed below. However, Alan's most devastating wildlife encounter, he reveals, was the destruction of his treasured cherry blossom. "My small but now 20-year old plantation of the pure-white 'Shirotae' cherry generally gives rise to gasps in early April," he says. "This year we went away for the weekend just before it was due to open. We returned and excitedly walked around the back of our barn to take in the anticipated view.." Yet the sight that awaited Alan and his wife Alison was "pathetic," he says. "The welter of buds had been decimated by wood pigeons." Article continues below He described how the only blossoms that survived were the tiny ones at the very ends of slender branches that couldn't support the weight of a ravenous wood pigeon. "Heartbreaking," he added.
