An Infosys employee has been arrested for secretly filming inappropriate videos of female colleagues inside a washroom at the company's Bengaluru office.
The matter came to light when he was reportedly caught in the act after recording two women.
The accused has been identified as Swapnil Nagesh Mali, who hails from Sangli in Maharashtra.
After the incident, Infosys issued a statement confirming that the accused had been fired from his position at the company.

Swapnil Nagesh Mali was working as a Senior Associate Consultant at Infosys's Helix unit.
He was reportedly caught in the act when a woman noticed him recording her using his phone from the next stall in the washroom.
During a closer look, she allegedly found him standing on a commode in the adjoining cubicle, filming her with his phone.
When confronted, Nagesh began to apologise, but two HR staff members arrived quickly after hearing the woman's calls for help and caught him.
According to The Indian Express, HR officials found objectionable videos on his phone. They took screenshots before deleting the clips.
Police later recovered two videos from the phone's recycle bin, and a forensic check is being done to see if there are more.

Officers found around 30 videos of different women on his device during the inquiry.
Investigators said that Nagesh had joined Infosys only three months ago and had recorded another woman employee before the incident mentioned in the complaint was filed on Tuesday, IE reported.
After his arrest, Nagesh was brought before a magistrate. Police are still looking into the full extent of what he did.
During questioning, Swapnil reportedly told investigators that he felt 'satisfaction' from watching such videos, The Times of India reported.

This case comes just months after a separate incident where a man was arrested for secretly filming women on the Bengaluru Metro and sharing the clips on Instagram.
That Instagram account, which had nearly 6,000 followers, has since deleted its posts. The page is no longer visible after massive public backlash and media coverage.
What the complaint reveals
In her complaint, the woman said she first noticed a reflection on the washroom door and then saw a mobile phone being pushed out from a nearby stall.
The man allegedly removed his trousers while filming her, according to The Times of India.
After being caught, he repeatedly apologised. The woman rushed out, raised an alarm, and other employees came to stop him.
Then, two HR staff members caught him and checked his phone. They found the video he had just recorded, the complaint said.
'The man apologised again, and the complainant told him to delete the video. Feeling frightened and humiliated, the complainant did not know what to do. The HR personnel took a screenshot of the video before ensuring it was deleted,' the complaint said, according to The New Indian Express.

An officer told the publication that the man, now in police custody, is being questioned. 'After the incident came to light, the company's Posh (Prevention of Sexual Harassment) committee, is said to have been started looking into the issue,' the officer said.
The situation escalated when the woman's husband found out and confronted the company.
Nagesh has been booked under section 77 of the Bharatiya Nyaya Sanhita (voyeurism) and section 66E of the Information Technology Act (violation of privacy).

'Based on the complaint, we have arrested the man. Further investigation is underway,' a senior police officer told PTI.

In a statement, Infosys said, 'We are aware of the incident and have taken necessary action against the employee, who is now separated from the Company.'
'We also promptly supported the complainant by facilitating a swift complaint with law enforcement authorities and continue to cooperate as they investigate further,' the company added.
'Infosys is committed to providing an environment free of harassment and has a zero-tolerance policy. We take every complaint related to any violation of the company's code of conduct seriously.'
