MAFs star Katie Johnston makes final $150k payment in unpaid staff super
Former MAFs star Katie Johnston has made an emotional announcement to her former staff, saying she has paid back every cent of the $150,000 in unpaid super annuation.
The 37-year-old who had a hard time on the reality show after her husband said he wasn't attracted to her because he prefers 'petite' women, confirmed the impact of Covid had caused her financial difficulties but proudly announced she had worked hard over the last 12 months to make sure no one was out of pocket,
Johnston described herself as the CEO of a 'social enterprise' group of restaurants that splits profits with those who are doing it tough.
The company that owned two restaurants, Wild The Lifestyle Co Pty, which was directed by Johnston, went into liquidation in 2023 owing more than $400,000 including over $150,000 in unpaid superannuation.

'I know some of you were really upset and that we had to all go through that.
But you have not missed out on anything. I am really sorry that I had to make really hard decisions but thankyou for those who were patient with me. and really understanding.
'It made this last year a lot more manageable and I am insanely grateful for your grace and patience and understanding.'
For those that 'pushed and didn't believe in me and gave me a hard time that's totally fine I understand that completely'.
Johnston said she understood people may fear the worst and be part of a 'horror story' but that's 'not so thankyou so much'.
The video was filmed in the office of her accountant 'the lovely Renee' from In Depth Accounting.
She said Renee 'held my hand' the entire way through the process.
As Johnston pressed the confirm button on what she said was the final payment, she burst into tears after saying 'I hope I don't cry that would be awkward. I'm going to cry'.

Bring Me The Horizon releasing lo-fi album of their biggest tunes
Bring Me The Horizon are releasing an album of lo-fi versions of their biggest tunes for 'chilling, focus, sleeping, zoning out…whatever you like'. The metalcore band will drop the 23-track meditative project, Lo-files, on Friday (11.07.25). They announced on Instagram alongside a preview: "we've collaborated with producers we love from the lofi scene to launch a new project where we've reworked BMTH songs and created lofi versions (sic)" In another photo dump on the app, Oli Sykes and co posted: "Lo-files 23 lo-fi reworkings of our biggest tunes. out this friday. (sic)" The project will come in handy for frontman Oli to rock his unborn children to sleep. The Mantra singer's wife Alissa Salls (Alissic) is pregnant with the couple's twins. In May, the pair shared a video revealing the genders of their unborn babies and captioned the post "dois", number two in Alissa's native Portuguese. Oli, 38, and Alissa, 27, then shared that they are having a boy and a girl by biting into cupcakes with blue and pink icing inside. Alissa laughed: 'This is twin one, genuine." After she bit into the pink cake, Oli beamed: 'F****** hell, we're having a baby girl!' Then it was time for the rock star to take a bite of his cupcake, which had blue icing. Oli was overcome and kept saying "no f****** way." The emotional couple hugged and Oli wiped his wife's tears away. Oli married his second wife, model-and-musician Alissa, in 2017. The Can You Feel My Heart singer divorced first wife, Hannah Pixie Snowdon, in 2016, after less than a year of marriage. Next month, Bring Me The Horizon will headline Reading and Leeds.

Didi Conn explains how John Travolta found 'perfect' way to pay tribute to Dame Olivia Newton-John
Didi Conn invited John Travolta to a screening of Grease in memory of Dame Olivia Newton-John. The 73-year-old actress played Frenchy in the 1978 classic, and after Dame Olivia - who starred as Sandy in the film - passed away in 2022 following a long battle with cancer, she was hosting a sing-along at the Hollywood Bowl and managed to get the movie's leading man to attend. She told PEOPLE: "I was the host. "I invited the T-Birds to be a part of it.' 'What's so great about the sing-along, first of all, that it's in the Hollywood Bowl, which is an amazing venue. To see that movie outdoors in that humongous screen for 18,000 people. everybody's dressed up. Why don't you ever invite me? 'I said, 'I always invite you,' And I said, 'Next time I promise, I'll make sure.' I get a text from [his assistant] saying, 'Guess who is coming and tell me the schedule of the event. "They said we had a special guest here in [Olivia's] honour. And who walks out but Danny Zuko. We didn't know he was coming dressed up with the black leather jacket and the strut. And oh my God, that was a surprise to me. "Let me tell you something. When 18,000 people stand up and scream, it is unreal. When I looked out and saw all those people there coming to have fun, and they're all dressed up. There's Pink Ladies, there's T-Birds, there's jocks, there's nerds. It's amazing that this film is a phenomenon. It's just a phenomenon." Didi - who also starred in Grease 2 and then made a cameo appearance alongside the likes of Vanessa Hudgens, Keke Palmer and Carly Rae Jepsen in 2016's Grease Live - explained that it was just the "perfect" way to pay tribute to the late actress. She said: "It was perfect. What is better than a tribute to Olivia and [Sandy's] boyfriend comes out to be there? It was so wonderful. Really wonderful." Immediately after the death of Xanadu star Olivia, John took to Instagram to lead the tributes. He wrote: 'My dearest Olivia, you made all of our lives so much better. 'Your impact was incredible. I love you so much. We will see you down the road and we will all be together again. Yours from the first moment I saw you and forever! Your Danny, your John!'

Linda Hamilton channels her iconic Terminator character in big-screen return
Don't miss out on the headlines from Movies. Followed categories will be added to My News. She vowed never to star in the Terminator franchise again, but Linda Hamilton appears to channel her iconic character from the franchise as she makes her return to the big screen. The Hollywood star walked the red carpet in New Orleans, Louisiana, overnight at the screening of her new sci-fi film Osiris, which marks her first movie in six years. The 68-year-old almost looked unrecognisable in a pretty pink dress at the Prytania Theatre, looking in stark contrast to the gun-toting, bad-ass she's known for in the Terminator films. Actress Linda Hamilton arrives at a screening of her new movie Osiris at Prytania Theatre on July 8 in New Orleans. Picture:Nonetheless, the actress can still pack a punch, playing a Russian militant Anya in the film who comes to the aid of a group of US Special Forces who've been abducted by an alien space craft. In the action-thriller, Hamilton's role echoes the Sarah Connor character she played in three of the Terminator films opposite Arnold Schwarzenegger: The Terminator and two of its sequels, Terminator 2: Judgment Day and Terminator: Dark Fate. The latter was released in 2019 and Hamilton has only appeared on TV projects in the six years since, including a recurring role in the mystery comedy-drama Resident Alien. But now she makes her return to the big screen – and she only had 10 days notice to join the movie after another actor was recast because of a medical issue. 'It was hellish for a while,' Hamilton recently recalled to ScreenRant. 'Because my character is the one that really explains the story. There are gobs of Russian coming out of my mouth. But it was fun! It's fun when you have to think on your feet.' 'I worked my tail off, and we had a fantastic time. It was great... it was a dream job.' It comes after Hamilton vowed never to star in a Terminator film again following the 2019 offering Terminator: Dark Fate. With Terminator: Dark Fate co-stars Natalia Reyes (left) and Mackenzie David. Hamilton and Terminator co-star Arnold Schwarzenegger speak on stage during the CinemaCon Paramount Pictures Exclusive Presentation at the Colosseum Caesars Palace in Las Vegas in 2019. Picture: VALERIE MACON / AFP When asked by The Hollywood Reporter last year what was more likelier: her returning as Sarah Connor or AI writing the next Terminator movie, she didn't hesitate in her reply: 'AI writing the next Terminator movie. And they kill me off before we start. That's the best scenario,' she said. Hamilton was also married the blockbuster franchise's director and producer James Cameron from 1997 to 1999. When doing press for Terminator: Dark Fate in 2019, the star – who never remarried – revealed that she had been celibate for 15 years. 'I love my alone time like no one you've ever met,' Hamilton told the New York Times at the time. 'I've been celibate for at least 15 years. One loses track, because it just doesn't matter – or at least it doesn't matter to me.' 'I have a very romantic relationship with my world every day and the people who are in it.'
