Belly Finally Got an Engagement Ring on 'The Summer I Turned Pretty'—And You Can Shop It Now
If you were surprised that Jeremiah Fisher proposed to Belly Conklin without a ring—and without kneeling!—in the season 3 premiere of The Summer I Turned Pretty, then let the newest episode make up for that. In this week's chapter of the Prime Video series, Jeremiah finally gets down on one knee and asks for Belly's hand in marriage with a proper diamond.
The ring in question is The Diamond Fizz Ring from Catbird. It's a sweet and delicate piece that fits Belly's youthful, summery style, consisting of a yellow gold band and a round white diamond. This just marks one of the many ways the Brooklyn-based jeweler teamed up with TSITP for its third and final season. The brand and the show also collaborated on a seven-piece collection inspired by Belly's story and summery themes, from infinity-shaped rings (if you know, you know) to seashell charms.
Below, Catbird's chief creative officer Leigh Batnick Plessner spills all the details on Belly's new bling.
First, let's lay out the stats: The Fizz Ring is made of 100-percent recycled, solid 14K yellow gold with a band measuring about .80mm. As for the stone, it's a 3mm-round, .089-carat recycled white diamond with a brilliant cut.
The piece currently retails online and in stores for $289. A petite version is priced at $168.
The Catbird team primarily works with 14K gold, and this ring is only offered in that material because of its size. Silver would've been 'too delicate,' Plessner tells ELLE, 'and we really want it to stand the test of time.' Which is exactly what you want in an engagement ring.
Plessner loves seeing how different people style the piece, whether that means wearing it on different fingers or stacking it with other pieces. 'The diamond is slightly lifted so it can fit in with other rings [when stacked],' she says. (That might even include Belly's future wedding band.)
The ring was not custom-designed for the series, but instead pulled from Catbird's Fizz collection, which is made entirely with recycled brilliant cut diamonds and solid 14K gold. It first debuted 'as we were emerging from COVID,' Plessner recalls. The name 'fizz' was meant to evoke 'a little bit of effervescence, and it felt so good to be out and about,' she says.
The design is intended for both everyday use and for engagements. 'It felt equally perfect to me when they pulled that ring,' Plessner says of the TSITP team.
'Something that we always think about with our jewelry is this idea of how different people wear it, how it can shape-shift to suit your style, both in the moment and over time,' Plessner explains. 'Or this idea of maybe one day a child finding a ring in their parents' jewelry box and fitting it into their lives. So I think it suits young love because it's so wearable and it can grow with you over time, and it can always suit whatever evolution of your personal style you might be in.'
Belly is 20 years old and a junior in college when she gets engaged, which means a ring like this can still match her style as she grows and evolves through the years.
The linkup began when Plessner received a personal Instagram DM from Carol Lim, a co-founder of Opening Ceremony and a close friend of Jenny Han, the author and showrunner of The Summer I Turned Pretty. 'She's obviously iconic New York retail royalty,' she recalls.
When meeting with Lim, 'we started to talk about the idea of a collection and a collaboration, and we have some really massive Summer I Turned Pretty fans on our team as well, so everyone was really excited,' she says. And while the series might seem to cater to a younger audience (we adult women who binge the show after work beg to differ), there's something universal about its romantic and summery appeal.
'Everybody has a relationship with summer, but this idea of this pocket of time when the beach is so special—that feels really connected to an East Coast summer experience I'm so familiar with,' Plessner says.
Belly's ring captures a rising ethos around engagement rings rather than a specific trending design. The Fizz Ring, like many of Catbird's offerings, can be described as 'jewelry that makes you feel more like yourself,' according to Plessner. 'In that sense, it's really reflective of a moment where people really feel free to pursue their path.'
Belly knows how to do exactly that. As Lola Tung, the actress behind the character, recently told ELLE, she knows what she wants, even if that means facing criticism for getting married at a young age. 'She knows she's young, but she's also quite stubborn and is making decisions for herself,' Tung said. 'She's like, 'I need to do what I need to do for myself to protect myself, and to feel safe, and to feel like I am in control of my story and my life.''

Melody Shari Hosts Private Premiere Of ‘Childcare Cartel', Cast & Creator Celebrate Sizzling Series
The women of The Childcare Cartel docuseries rolled out the red carpet for an exclusive, adults-only networking and watch party, and BOSSIP was on the scene to see the sizzling series. Source: Freddy O / The luxe gathering took place at Atlanta's Modex Studio and was moderated by award-winning actress and entrepreneur, Melody Shari. Source: Freddy O / The event spotlighted the groundbreaking unscripted series that follows a tight-knit circle of female childcare bosses balancing business, life, and the weight of running empires where one misstep could change everything. Source: Freddy O / The atmosphere was electric and elegant as Childcare Cartel pulled back the velvet curtain for an exclusive, star-studded evening in Atlanta. Guests draped in pastel perfection gathered under lush florals, luxe drapery, and candlelit decor curated by The Bella Xperience, setting the scene for a night of networking, noshing, and next-level inspiration. Over 100 of Atlanta's finest, including moguls, media mavericks, and mogul moms, turned out to toast the upcoming docuseries. In attendance were cast members Sherri J. White, Janaya Burke, Keisha 'Starr' Archer, and Sydney Jordan, along with #RHOA creator Princess Banton-Lofters, restaurateur Ebony Austin, and media executive Chanel Nicole Scott. Source: Freddy O / The night also featured panel discussions packed with business gems guided by Melody Shari, delivering raw and rare insight into the realities of running a childcare empire. The grand finale was a private premiere of the game-changing reality series that follows bold businesswomen navigating babies, budgets, and big boss moves in pursuit of generational wealth. The Childcare Cartel isn't your typical feel-good family series. It's a bold, behind-the-scenes reality show created by Atlanta-based mogul mom Sherri J. White, spotlighting the high-stakes world of Black women running early childhood education empires. Source: Freddy O / The docuseries peels back the layers of licensing, lawsuits, burnout, betrayal, sisterhood—and the beauty and chaos in between. Think: less playgrounds, more power moves. The featured cast includes Martika Reddick, Janiya Burke, Keisha 'Starr' Archer, and Sydney Goggins, four childcare owners whose personal and professional journeys anchor the heart of the series. 'I had to close my center today,' said Sherri J. with a laugh to BOSSIP. 'I came here in my work clothes and got dressed at the venue. But I feel really, really good. People are excited—they're ready to network and get into what The Childcare Cartel is all about.' Here's what each of the featured women had to say about their journeys, and what they hope viewers take away. As the creator, executive producer, and owner of multiple centers, Sherri J. is the heartbeat of the show. She wants viewers to look beyond the surface of daycare. Source: Freddy O / 'I want people to understand that childcare is more,' she said. 'It's about the women behind it. You'll see each woman going through something different—some business, some tea—but mostly, it's a reminder that this is a space where you can be a woman first. Yes, we're providers, but we're individuals too.' Though some attendees hoped to network for jobs, Sherri J. made it clear—she's fully staffed. 'Honestly? My payroll has hit its max,' she joked. 'I need someone else to open a center so I can send some of my staff over there.' More on the flip! Sherri's daughter Janaya Burke is opening her first center in Hapeville, but she's already walking in her own lane. Source: Freddy O / 'When I hear 'childcare cartel,' I think of a group of ballsy, sassy, hardworking individuals that come together to make it bigger than ever,' she said. 'Don't procrastinate. That was my biggest downfall. Whether you're scared or not, just do it now.' Former nightlife dancer turned childcare mogul Keisha 'Starr' Archer owns STAR Kids Academy 1 and 2. Her transformation alone deserves a whole season. Source: Freddy O / 'When I hear Childcare Cartel, I think of community. A group of women who can get together and speak about the childcare industry—and our lives outside of it. Because we have lives too.' Starr says balancing it all takes a toll. 'It costs a lot. Trying to be the strong one in your family while running a business? It's not easy.' At 30 years old, Martika is already a veteran in the game, with seven years under her belt. Source: Freddy O / 'What makes me feel most powerful is the respect I get at my age. The impact I've had on the city of Atlanta has made a tremendous impact on my life—and the kids.' Sydney, who co-runs a center with her mother, shared a raw perspective on what makes this industry uniquely stressful. Source: Freddy O / 'What separates childcare from other industries is the liability alone. Doctors make mistakes—insurance pays it out. We make a mistake, we're going to jail. Our business gets shut down.' She admitted that at one point, she struggled to set limits. 'I didn't know how to delegate. I made myself available to my parents and staff 24 hours a day. Learning boundaries literally saved my life.' Hit the flip for more details on Childcare Cartel' s big night. The evening offered more than a sneak peek—it was an experience. Guests enjoyed curated music, casting calls, and an elevated spread of hors d'oeuvres and drinks by Chef Tanya Chavis, owner of Pretti Plates on Cascade. Source: Freddy O / The menu included BBQ meatballs, jerk chicken, rice and peas, plantains, seafood rice, mac and cheese, chicken sliders, vegan selections, and charcuterie. The drinks? Custom cocktails named after the show: The Cartel – Vodka, Triple Sec, Fresh Lemon Juice Child's Play – Reposado, Triple Sec, Lime Juice, Agave Syrup, Jalapeños Playground Punch (Mocktail) – Pineapple, cranberry, orange, lime, and soda Forme r Love & Marriage: Huntsville star Melody Shari showed support on the carpet amid her hosting duties. Source: Freddy O / 'I feel so powerful knowing that my beauty brand is empowering women,' she said. 'I was so excited when I learned about The Childcare Cartel—I'm just like wow, look at these amazing boss women who look like me owning their lane in the billion-dollar childcare industry!' Chanel Nicole Scott, CMO of In the Black Network, also pulled up. 'When I first heard the name, I was like oh wow—this will catch some eyeballs! I thought it was absolutely creative.' When asked what her superpower is with kids? 'I'm a kid myself! I don't have any children, so quite naturally—when you don't have, you love them more. And you get to send them home when you're done, ha!' Yanoviah Murphy, founder of The Care Crew Team nanny service, was also in the room. At just 17 years old, she attended to network, gaining a powerful takeaway. 'If you have a mission, it's important for you to just go for it,' she said. 'The ladies didn't let anything stop them, which inspired me.' Shannette Rivera, who flew in from Miami, owns Unique Kids Pre School and has been in the game for more than two decades. 'We don't have things like this where I'm from,' she said. 'So I had to come here to Atlanta—and I'm grateful to network today.' There's a new cartel on the block, but it's not moving bricks, it's moving babies, blueprints, and bold strategy. The Childcare Carte l is the docuseries we didn't know we needed, until it pulled up with high heels, clipboards, and center keys in hand. Source: Freddy O / At first glance, the show plays like a Real Housewives spin-off: there are luxe buildings, dramatic boardroom moments, and a cast of women with both grit and glam. But underneath the lashes and legacy talk is something deeper—something revolutionary. The show isn't just about business. It's about what happens when Black women decide they're no longer just caretakers—they're CEOs. The first season is fully filmed! While it's still in network negotiations, The Childcare Cartel is already doing what great shows do—sparking conversation, creating visibility, and rewriting narratives. 'This isn't just about watching children,' said Sherri J. 'It's about shaping generations—and showing the world what it really takes.' Ready to tune in? Every item on this page was chosen by an ELLE editor. We may earn commission on some of the items you choose to buy. THE RUNDOWN Selena Gomez and Benny Blanco got engaged in December 2024, but not yet revealed their wedding plan. Fans have been wanting to know more details about the upcoming event, and the Only Murder in the Building star finally shared some this week. On her Rare Beauty brand's TikTok account, Gomez shared some of her thoughts on the reception, saying she had some ideas for the dessert. Traditionally, a big wedding cake is expected, but Gomez has other dreams. 'My preferred dessert would be biscuits and gravy,' she shared. 'My Nana's biscuits and gravy. That sounds like dessert to me.' She also explained, 'Whenever that day comes, I do know I don't want a big cake. I think I'd want a mini one, for just us, that we can freeze.' Gomez previously discussed the first dance between the bride and groom on an episode of Table Manners with Jessie and Lennie Ware, saying she was probably going to skip it. 'I don't think we're looking at having one of those 'cause they're a little—I feel embarrassed,' she said. But she was hoping to be escorted down the aisle by her grandfather. 'He never got a chance to walk my mom down the aisle,' she explained. 'I wanted to give [my grandfather] the opportunity to have that.' In July, Blanco discussed how planning is going on Jake Shane's podcast, Therapuss. The music producer said that they have both been so busy since the release of their album, I Said I Love You First. 'That's why we both need to chill,' Blanco explained. 'We've both been working so much. We got engaged, and then we were filming music videos for our album. Then it's holidays, then right after the holidays, we had to start all the promo for our stuff, do that. Then she left to film her show Only Murders [in the Building] and then I met her, then we hung out for a week, and then right after that, it's promo. And then I'm writing another book, so then I had to write a book, and then she came back for one day here. And then it was my birthday, and you know.' He continued, 'We're both working on so many things that we hadn't even had time to get into it, but we're so excited. I think this summer we're going to sit down and be like, 'Okay, what are we doing, hun?''

7 hidden Roku tricks every user should know
Your Roku does way more than just stream Netflix and Hulu. Beneath its familiar interface lies clever features and shortcuts that can improve your streaming experience in surprising ways. Most people never discover these lesser-known tricks, missing out on convenient tools that save time and frustration every day. Some features help you navigate more efficiently, while others solve common problems you didn't even realize had solutions. There are also hidden settings that protect your privacy and secret screens that aren't mentioned anywhere in the official documentation. Whether you're a longtime Roku user or just got started, these hidden features will improve your experience with one of the best streaming devices. Instead of managing separate watchlists across Netflix, Hulu, Prime Video, and every other streaming service, Roku lets you create one master list that works across all services. Use the Roku OS to search for shows and movies you want to watch, then select Add to Save List on each title's details page. This saves everything to a universal watchlist that you can access by going to the Roku home screen and selecting What to Watch. Your universal list shows everything in one place, making it much easier to decide what to watch next. The physical Roku remote is functional, but your phone can do so much more. Download the Roku Official Remote Control app for iOS or Android and you'll get a full keyboard for easy searching, the ability to stream content directly from your phone, as well as voice search. The app also lets you browse and launch channels without looking at your TV screen. You can type search terms quickly and if you lose the physical remote, your phone becomes an instant backup. The app even shows what's currently playing and gives you playback controls. If your remote has vanished into the couch cushions again, you don't need to tear apart your living room. If you have a remote with a speaker grille, open the Roku app, tap the microphone, and say "Hey, Roku, find my remote." The remote will start beeping so you can track it down. For Roku Ultra devices, just long-press the button on the right side of the device and the remote will beep. If you have a Voice Remote Pro, you can say "Hey, Roku, find my remote" directly to the TV and it will start beeping. Once you find it, press any button to stop the noise. You can even customize the beeping sound in Settings if the default tone isn't loud enough. When friends or family visit, they can use your Roku without messing up your recommendations, watchlists, or personal settings. Go to to set up a PIN, then press the Home button on your Roku remote and navigate to Settings, System, Guest Mode, and Enter Guest Mode. Then enter your PIN and select OK to activate it. Now guests can sign into their own streaming accounts and use the device normally, but their viewing history won't affect your algorithms and they can't see your personal content. Late-night binge-watching doesn't have to wake up your household. If you have a first-generation Voice Remote Pro, you can plug headphones directly into the remote's headphone jack and audio will automatically redirect from the TV to your headphones. For newer remotes without headphone jacks, use the Roku mobile app's Headphone Mode to listen through your phone's headphones or earbuds. The TV audio gets muted while you get full sound through your personal audio device. This works great for apartments, shared living spaces, or when your partner goes to bed early but you want to keep watching. Roku has hidden diagnostic screens can help you troubleshoot problems. These secret screens let you run network speed tests, view detailed system information, check channel installation logs, and perform various resets when your device isn't working properly. You can access these by pressing specific button combinations on your remote or entering special codes. To run a network speed test, press Home 5 times, then Up, Down, Up, Down, Up and you'll get access to speed testing, reset, and logging options. For a soft reset when your Roku is acting up, press Home 5 times, Up once, Rewind twice, and Fast Forward twice and your device will restart without erasing settings. The speed test screen is particularly useful for diagnosing streaming quality issues, showing you exactly how fast your internet connection is performing on the Roku device itself. Tired of being blasted awake by loud commercials or having to constantly adjust volume between quiet dialogue and loud action scenes? To avoid this, press the star button on your remote during playback, then navigate to Sound Settings and Volume Mode. Turn on Leveling to prevent sudden volume spikes from commercials and channel changes. You can also enable Night mode to boost quiet sounds and reduce loud ones, which is perfect for late-night viewing when you don't want to disturb others. For Roku Streambars and Soundbars, you'll find these options under Settings, Audio and Volume Modes instead.
