New on Prime Video in July 2025 — all the new movies and shows to stream this month

A new month is here, and with it comes a fresh wave of titles hitting Prime Video. Amazon has officially unveiled its full July 2025 streaming lineup, and there's plenty to get excited about. Below, we've laid out the complete list of everything arriving on the streaming service this month. We've also highlighted a few standout picks you won't want to miss, including the third and final season of 'The Summer I Turned Pretty,' a new action-comedy featuring Idris Elba and John Cena, and 'Ballard,' the new 'Bosch' spinoff. Not seeing anything that grabs you? No problem — check out our curated guides to the best movies and shows currently on Prime Video for even more streaming recommendations. Otherwise, scroll down to see everything new coming to Prime Video this July. 'Heads of State' is a new action-comedy featuring an unlikely duo: U.S. President Will Derringer (John Cena) and U.K. Prime Minister Sam Clarke (Idris Elba). After their jet is shot down, the two sworn rivals must band together alongside MI6 agent Noel Bisset (Priyanka Chopra Jonas) to survive a deadly global conspiracy aimed at shaking the foundation of their nations. If you're in the mood for fast-paced global stakes, charismatic star power, and light-hearted action, 'Heads of State' looks to be July's must-watch on Prime Video. Whether Cena and Elba can set their rivalry aside and save the world … well, that's the fun of finding out. Stream "Heads of State" on Prime Video from July 2 Get instant access to breaking news, the hottest reviews, great deals and helpful tips. 'Ballard' is set in the 'Bosch' universe and follows Detective Renée Ballard (Maggie Q). After being introduced in the 'Bosch: Legacy' finale, Ballard now leads an underfunded, all-volunteer LAPD cold case unit. Determined and fiercely empathetic, she juggles complex investigations like the high-profile 'Flower Girl' serial killer case while navigating bureaucratic roadblocks and inner-department corruption. Backed by familiar faces including Harry Bosch (Titus Welliver), Ballard is tasked with reopening unsolved crimes, but the emotional toll and political weight of the job threaten to overwhelm her. Created by 'Bosch' author Michael Connelly, the show leans into grounded storytelling, with a focus on justice, trauma, and the messiness of police work. With all ten episodes premiering at once, 'Ballard' offers fans of the franchise (and detective dramas in general) a darker, more character-driven story. Stream "Ballard" on Prime Video from July 9 Premiering July 16 with a two-episode kick-off and rolling out weekly through September 17, the third and final season of 'The Summer I Turned Pretty' adapts Jenny Han's concluding novel. Set two years after Belly's (Lola Tung) decision to be with Jeremiah (Gavin Casalegno), the story follows her summer after junior year of college. Belly and Jeremiah announce their engagement, only for Conrad (Christopher Briney) to reappear, reopening old wounds and thrusting Belly into a powerful emotional crossroads. With an expanded 11-episode run (the longest yet) the series dives deeper into the central love triangle, Belly's growth into adulthood, and the dynamics between her friends and family. So expect moments of heartbreak, healing, and surprising adventures (including potential new settings like Paris). Love "Summer I Turned Pretty"? Here's 7 Reading Recs

First and foremost, read the books that started it all Jenny Han's The Summer I Turned Pretty trilogy has all of the romance, drama, and summer vibes as the Amazon Prime series, except the book is always better. Whether you're sitting on your couch or hanging out by the ocean, you'll want to escape to Cousins Beach and get lost in Belly, Conrad, and Jeremiah's love triangle all over again. My Life With the Walter Boys and My Return to the Walter Boys by Ali Novak True story: I read My Life With the Walter Boys for the first time while sitting on the beach shortly after it was released. This book follows Jackie, who recently moved in with the Walter family following a family tragedy. The only catch? The Walters have a house full of boys, and Jackie is already torn between two of them. After the Netflix adaptation blew up, Ali Novak finally released the sequel...10 years after the first book debuted. Wrong Answers Only by Tobias Madden Living on a cruise ship, rent-free, and seeing the world with your best friend? There are few dreams I would rather escape to. Wrong Answers Only pairs this once-in-a-lifetime vacation with a rich, intriguing story of family and acceptance. After a panic attack, everybody in Marco's life encourages him to loosen up a they send him on a cruise ship captained by an estranged uncle he has never met, of course. The adventure that ensues involves everything from hooking up with a hot dancer to visiting the Italian sights of his grandmother's stories. Better Than the Movies and Nothing Like the Movies by Lynn Painter Anyone who wants to get swept away in a romance will love anything Lynn Painter writes. Better Than the Movies finds Liz hopelessly crushing on Michael, who recently moved back to town. So she schemes with Wes, the boy next door, to figure out how to win him over. But is Michael really who Liz wants in the long run? You'll devour this book in an afternoon unless you're careful, and then you'll have to immediately order the sequel. I'll Give You the Sun by Jandy Nelson I'll Give You the Sun somehow feels timeless. It follows twins Noah and Jude as they navigate life both before and after their mom's death. Their stories contain love, heartbreak, struggling to belong, and a sibling bond that persists despite many small fractures. Set in a coastal California town, this book has all of the nostalgic summer vibes while telling an important story of finding your place in the world. Cool for the Summer by Dahlia Adler Cool for the Summer meets Lara at a crossroads: the boy she's loved from afar for years, or the girl who stole her heart last summer. This book follows Lara's journey as she discovers what it means to be bisexual, navigating a new relationship with Chase and memories of her summer spent with Jasmine. Those who adore the love triangle in The Summer I Turned Pretty will adore Lara's story just as much. Finally, various titles by K. L. Walther Swiftie fans of The Summer I Turned Pretty would love everything K. L. Walther writes. Her books are full of heart, charm, and Easter egg references to songs, not unlike the Taylor Swift song cameos in TSITP. The Summer of Broken Rules boasts the coastal setting and close family relationships that define summer, What Happens After Midnight tells the tale of an elaborate senior prank, and While We're Young details a senior skip day with more than a few similarities to Ferris Bueller's Day Off. Regardless of which book you choose, you will be met with a story you can't put down. Any books I missed? What are your favorite summer reads? Let me know in the comments!

Peter Thomas Roth Teams With Prime Video to Launch ‘The Summer I Turned Pretty' Eye Patches

Peter Thomas Roth has partnered with Prime Video to launch a limited-edition version of its 24K Gold and Cucumber De-Tox Hydra-Gel Eye Patches inspired by the fan-favorite drama series, 'The Summer I Turned Pretty.' This collaboration comes just a few weeks before the third and final season of the show, which sees a teenage girl named Belly grapple with the consequences of being in love with two brothers (Jeremiah and Conrad), premieres on the streaming service. More from WWD Kris Jenner Leads '60s Glam Trend With Twisted Hairdo at Lauren Sánchez and Jeff Bezos' Wedding Kristin Cavallari Teases Uncommon Beauty Expansion and Talks Glowing Skin Goals Winning in Gen Alpha's 'VirtuReal' World and Making Beauty More Science-driven: Key FIT Capstone Takeaways Peter Thomas Roth, the eponymous brand owner, explained how this crossover came to life. 'This project has been in development for almost a year. The author and showrunner of 'The Summer I Turned Pretty' picked a few of her favorite brands sold on Amazon, and my skin care line happened to be one of them,' he said. As part of the partnership, customers will be able to purchase the cult-favorite hydrating under-eye agents in travel-sized containers with a packaging design inspired by the romance-steeped series set on the fictional Cousins Beach in Massachusetts. 'They're the perfect addition to your beach bag or tote,' Roth continued. 'We worked very closely with the Amazon teams to incorporate the show's amazing intellectual property into our own branding. The goal was to match the energy of the show and create summer-ready versions of my Hydra-Gel Eye Patches, travel-sized for all your adventures.' While it hasn't played out on screen, Roth's vision of the show's characters using this specific product before a party or a date night, and the morning after, is at the crux of this collaboration. Online, Roth's ardent customers have raved about the brand's eye patches, wearing them beyond the confines of their bedroom. Videos show fans wearing the cooling pads in the airport, the nail salon and on the sidewalk. 'They're also fabulous for soothing and cooling the delicate eye area,' Roth explained. Roth debuted his skin care line in 1993, trailblazing the clinical side of the beauty industry. The idea sprang from his own experience with clogged pores and acne, which left Roth struggling to soothe his skin for years. For a while, Roth's products were only sold in high-end spas and salons, but by 1998, the business had reached just under $15 million in retail value from the distribution of products under major outlets such as Bloomingdale's, Sephora and Nordstrom. A decade after his product line debut and just four years after it was ushered into department stores, Roth ventured into the fragrance sector of beauty with the release of a scent called 'It.' At the time, Roth told WWD: 'I always wanted to do a fragrance and have been dabbling in it for about 20 years.' In addition to the Peter Thomas Roth eye patches, 'The Summer I Turned Pretty' author Jenny Han tapped drugstore beauty brand Kiss to debut specialized press-on nails and lash clusters in celebration of the season premiere. 'The Summer I Turned Pretty' will return to Prime Video with new episodes on July 16. Where Was 'The Waterfront' on Netflix Filmed?

Netflix's addictive new show The Waterfront takes place in the fictional town of Havenport, which is best known for 1) a new murder every day, 2) an abundance of drugs/fish, and 3) being extremely gorgeous. While some of The Waterfront was filmed on a sound stage, plenty of it was filmed on location in Wilmington, North Carolina—which should look verrrrry familiar due to being used in dozens of TV shows and movies. Specifically, Outer Banks, Dawson's Creek, One Tree Hill, The Summer I Turned Pretty, and even I Know What You Did Last Summer. Creator Kevin Williamson grew up in the area and told Netflix "I would shoot everything here if I could." Meanwhile, Humberly González (who plays Jenna in The Waterfront) said "It's just such a full-circle moment for him. He would be like, 'Do you know where you're sitting? This is where that I Know What You Did Last Summer scene happened. It was such a fan moment for me. I was like 'I'm literally talking to the Kevin Williamson, where the movie was shot. Now I'm filming a show here!'" Aside from Wilmington, The Waterfront also spent some time filming in the picturesque town of Southport, as well as Wrightsville Beach. Let's get into the specifics! According to Star News Online, the Buckley's family restaurant—at least the outside of it—is actually a place called Fishy Fishy Cafe, which looks delightful. Meanwhile, some scenes around town take place at Potter's Seafood, Yacht Basin Drive, Morningstar Marina, and the Southport City Pier. Oh, and the sheriff's office is actually International Longshoremen's Local 1838. The more you know! Wilmington was used for a ton of locations in The Waterfront—specifically (per Star News Online) the Chamber of Commerce, which was a stand-in for Havenport hospital, as well William E. Poole Designs, which was used for Jenna's family hardware store. You can also see local businesses Caprice Bistro and the Black Cat Shoppe in several scenes. This gorgeous beachfront was used throughout filming, and if it looks familiar, might be because it's a go-to filming spot for The Summer I Turned Pretty. Brady Hepner, who plays Diller in The Waterfront, actually spoke about filming at the beach, telling The News & Observer that "Wrightsville Beach is always good. That was the thing I enjoyed about filming. After a long 12 hour day, you can just go sit on the beach and chill out, and that was really special to a lot of people." Kay, gotta go plan my trip.

‘Team Conrad' Or ‘Team Jeremiah'? Your Choice Might Reflect Your Relationship Style

The Summer I Turned Pretty has completely overtaken my TikTok feed, with countless people arguing over who the main character Isabel 'Belly' Conklin (Lola Tung) should end up with. If you haven't seen the show, the nostalgic teen drama centres around Belly and her dramatic love triangle. It's a bit complicated, because she's trying to choose between brothers: Conrad Fisher (Christopher Briney) and Jeremiah Fisher (Gavin Casalegno). They also happen to be lifelong family friends, and spend every summer together. Is it a recipe for disaster? Absolutely. But does it make for binge-worthy TV? You bet. The series, based on Jenny Han's books of the same name, has captured the attention of all age groups. Case in point: I'm a millennial who has been married for 11 years, yet I'm incredibly invested in what happens to these characters. There's something comforting about being transported back to summer, where you no longer have to worry about bills, the state of the world, or finding a place to live. However, being so removed from that part of my life where I was discovering love for the first time makes me view the show through a different lens. I started to get curious about whether my age, stage in life or what I value in relationships had anything to do with my opinion. With this in mind, I spoke to multiple experts about relationship styles, how watching relationships on TV can affect young people, and what being Team Conrad or Team Jeremiah could say about your relationship habits. If you need a quick refresher before The Summer I Turned Pretty Season 3, let me give you the basics. Conrad is the eldest of the two Fisher brothers, and he's your typical broody and mysterious heartthrob. Belly had a crush on Conrad her entire life, and everybody knew it. Jeremiah has always been one of Belly's best friends, and he's much more outgoing and tends to value communication. During Season 1, Belly kissed both of the brothers before deciding to pursue a relationship with Conrad, crushing Jeremiah. In Season 2, we found out that Conrad broke Belly's heart after he withdrew when his mother was dying from cancer, and she eventually reconnected with Jeremiah. We'll see which brother Belly chooses when The Summer I Turned Pretty Season 3 drops on July 16. Dr Joyce Yu, Co-Founder and Chief Strategy Officer at Consent Labs tells Refinery29 Australia it's important not to assume what you see on screen is 'normal or okay'. As we know, there are many unhealthy relationships that become romanticised on screen (we're looking at you, Blair Waldorf and Chuck Bass), so we should all approach TV with critical thinking. 'It's completely okay to enjoy media and TV shows, because they're often designed for escapism. But the key is being able to engage critically too: asking yourself whether what's portrayed reflects a healthy relationship in real life,' Yu says. 'One way to assess whether a relationship on screen is healthy is by assessing the power dynamics. Check whether there are elements that give someone more power. This could be their age, position in the workplace or social hierarchy, or professional role.' Yu also warns that 'respectful communication and consent' is key, and says TV shows often can portray jealousy as love. One easy way to test if a relationship you're invested in is healthy is to ask a simple question: 'If this scenario happened in real life to my friend, would I think it was healthy or problematic?' Team Conrad Psychologist Carly Dober tells Refinery29 Australia that those who are firmly in the Team Conrad camp could simply be attracted to him physically (hello, it's Christopher Briney), or that you could enjoy the 'bad boy archetype' or the 'push and pull dynamic'. 'This might mean that this kind of relationship is more of what you're looking for [or] it might mean that this feels familiar to you,' she explains. Conrad tends to be unpredictable — from leaving Belly in tears at prom to calling her a 'brat' and a 'mistake' — which feels cruel, but in the real world, can be familiar to many people. Those feelings of 'butterflies' that you can get in your stomach when you're in a relationship? They're not always a good sign. 'Unpredictability can cause anxiety, which can cause the sensation of butterflies in your stomach. This can be misattributed to excitement and novelty, whereas for most healthy and sustaining relationships, there will be clear communication and expectations, and that sensation will dissipate as you get to know and trust one another,' Dober says. Being Team Connie also doesn't necessarily mean you want this type of relationship in your own life, but perhaps you're craving something completely different from what you usually experience. TV is a great way to rot on the couch and tune out for a while, after all! '[Viewers] might just be enjoying the drama as an escape from their own lives. We often find that if people are questioned about how much they would like to be in a relationship like the one on screen, they would not want to at all,' Dober says. Team Jeremiah If you're Team Jeremiah, Dober says you may be 'attracted to stability and dependability', and he ticks the boxes for what you're looking for. 'It might mean that you admire his personal traits or how he talks to people on the show. It might mean that you're attracted to this kind of person anyway… or are interested in these traits in future partners,' Dober says. There's also a possibility you have been 'burned' in a relationship before, and recognise it's time to try something new. 'People might come to find familiarity with the volatility of some relationships. This doesn't mean that they want this or like this, it just might be the only thing that they understand. For many people, being 'burned' will encourage them to find something different,' she explains. Some viewers may root for a character demonstrating 'stability and dependability' because they're at a different stage of their life, and their priorities around long-term commitment have changed. Dober says this comes as a result of maturity and knowing "what it takes to have a sustaining and healthy relationship work". While she says the show is obviously entertainment, it can also reflect what people "are looking for in that stage of their lives, too". There are arguments for both Team Conrad and Team Jeremiah, and if you wade into fan debates online, you'll quickly realise how passionate everybody can be. Your views can be coloured by past relationships, what you're looking for in your personal life, or maybe you're just attracted to the actors playing the characters on screen. Perhaps being Team Conrad or Team Jeremiah isn't so black and white as I first thought.
