Oasis 'Lidl by Lidl' jacket with bottle opener zipper on sale for reunion tour
A month before the band takes to the stage in Ireland for its highly-anticipated reunion tour, the supermarket has released the perfect coat for a night at Croke Park. Showcasing its iconic colours - blue, yellow and red - the waterproof 'Lidl by Lidl' coat is inspired by Liam Gallagher's fashion sense.
Last year, he starred in a Berghaus campaign which saw him model a jacket similar to Lidl's brand colours. Fans were perplexed, saying it could fit right into the supermarket's merchandise line.
After listening to what the customers wanted, Lidl decided to create the iconic jacket that will be sold online on lidlbylidl.co.uk on July 9 for €35. Customers are told in order to guarantee a limited edition jacket, they should log on at 10am.
All proceeds from the 'Lidl by Lidl' jacket will go to the supermarket's charity partner, Family Carers Ireland. Not only does the waterproof coat have two cooling pockets to stop cans getting warm and a bottle opener zipper, it also comes with a tambourine for spontaneous jamming sessions.
Speaking about the release, Corporate Affairs Director of Lidl Ireland Eimear O'Sullivan said: 'The Croke Park gigs are the most hotly anticipated gigs of the summer and now Oasis fans can relive 90s nostalgia and commemorate a piece of Irish rock and roll history with the limited-edition Lidl by Lidl jacket.
'Not only does it look the part, but it comes with fun features to enhance your live music experience including insulated pockets to keep drinks cool and a handy bottle opener attached to the zip.
'We're thrilled to launch the ultimate throwback jacket that's sure to be a hit with both Oasis and Lidl fans. We can't wait to see fans fill Croke Park kitted out in this summer's must-have merch.'
