Search for missing woman feared to be in danger is over, SC sheriff says
Chelsea Clayton was safety located, the Richland County Sheriff's Department said Tuesday.
'Thanks to the stories run by our local media partners, a community member that had seen Clayton knew to contact (the sheriff's department) and was able to advise of Clayton's location,' the sheriff's department said in a news release.
Clayton was publicly reported missing Monday. The 33-year-old had not been seen for days, the sheriff's department said.
Clayton was last seen July 19, according to the release. At about 6:20 p.m. last Saturday, Clayton was seen leaving the Circle K convenience store/gas station, at the intersection of Leesburg and Trotter roads, when she got into an unknown vehicle that was headed toward Garners Ferry Road, the sheriff's department said.
The sheriff's department did not say if foul play was suspected in Clayton's disappearance, but said the 33-year-old 'is believed to be a danger to herself.' Information about why Clayton could be a threat to herself was not available.
The sheriff's department also said it's also concerned that Clayton got into a vehicle with an unknown individual.

A CBP Mystery Points to Lawfare
Something seems to be rotten at the U.S. Customs and Border Protection office in Orlando, Fla., where a fake U.S. entry document for an adviser to former Brazilian President Jair Bolsonaro has been posted on its official website not once but twice since 2024. Cellphone data, credit card receipts and the passenger manifest for a commercial flight that Filipe Martins took in Brazil on Dec. 31, 2022, prove that he couldn't have entered the U.S. late on the night of Dec. 30, 2022, as CBP Orlando first alleged in March 2024. When these facts were brought to the attention of the Homeland Security Department, it agreed that Mr. Martins couldn't be in two places at one time. In June 2024 it took down a bad entry log. This month it suddenly reappeared on CBP Orlando's website.
