John Mitchell's side, who were back in action for the first time since completing a Six Nations grand slam in April, play away to France next weekend before beginning their World Cup campaign against the United States on Friday, August 22 in Sunderland.
'We've got a big few months coming up,' versatile back Rowland, who was making her first Test start on the wing, told BBC Sport.
'It's all about trying to live every moment. We've definitely tried to keep evolving our game. Hopefully it will come together. This is just the start of our journey and hopefully there's more to come.'
Prop Sarah Bern claimed two of England's tries, while Maddie Feaunati, Lucy Packer, Jess Breach, Jade Shekells, Lilli Ives Campion, Emma Sing, May Campbell, Hannah Botterman, Abby Dow and Megan Jones also crossed for Test rugby's top-ranked nation.
'I don't score that many tries so to get three in a game is always nice,' added Rowland.
'We put in some pretty nice stuff there, glad to get it off the training park.
'There's still plenty of things to fix up, as we knew there always would be. It's the first game after quite a long time. It was enjoyable out there and we've got to focus on next week now.'

A lack of club minutes for Gunn could count against him at international level, which is also an issue for Liam Kelly, the Rangers back-up, who was a Scotland squad regular over several years but has missed out on recent selections. Ipswich Town youngster Cieran Slicker is unlikely to receive a call-up for the September qualifiers away to Denmark and Belarus after his horror debut against Iceland, while Ross Doohan, who stepped in at the last minute to face Liechtenstein in June, is now third-choice at Celtic after switching from Aberdeen this summer. The situation could see a return to the Scotland fold for Hearts goalkeeper Zander Clark, who has started the new campaign as the Tynecastle club's number one in Gordon's absence. He has been capped four times, most recently against Gibraltar in June last year prior to the Euros. But Doak has been involved heavily in Arne Slot's pre season even starting Monday night's clash with Athletic Bilbao. The winger impressed in his 56 minute showing against the Reds European opposition. He played a crucial part in helping Liverpool go into a two nil lead early on, putting a key cross in to the box which Darwin Nunez eventually finished off. Chelsea urged to sign 'inspirational' £40m Man Utd transfer target this summer
Former Chelsea star Emmanuel Petit has urged his old club to sign Manchester United transfer target Emiliano Martinez this summer. The Red Devils saw a loan bid rejected by Aston Villa last month – but the 32-year-old goalkeeper is thought to be available for around £40m.
