In a recent interview on the 'Tell Us Y' podcast with YFM, Munaka Muthambi, former co-host of the popular amapiano podcast 'Piano Pulse', shed light on her reasons for leaving the show.
Her departure had sparked controversy and amusement among fans and fellow podcasters, particularly after she cited that 'God told her to leave' as the reason for her exit.
Initially, Muthambi had stated that the 'Heineken House' incident and the drama with amapiano artist Sizwe Alakine, formerly known as Reason, had nothing to do with her reasons for leaving the podcast.
'My reasons have nothing to do with the whole Reason saga and our incident with Heineken; we've moved past that a long time ago,' Munaka previously stated.
However, it seems that her reason for leaving has changed with time. In the recent interview, she revealed that the 'Heineken incident' did play a role in her decision to leave.
The controversy surrounding the 'Heineken incident' began when Muthambi was individually invited to a 'Heineken House' event and attended without her co-hosts, Sfiso Ndlovu and Thakgi Ledwaba.

This made them feel excluded, leading to tension between them as co-hosts.
Muthambi explained that she attended the event as an individual invitee, and not as a representative of the podcast, which led to the disagreement.
During the interview with 'Tell Us Y', Muthambi revealed that from there, she spent a month fasting and praying, seeking answers about her future on the podcast. During this time, she was uncertain about her place on the show and was grappling with the challenges she faced.
A while after the tension, another incident took place in the studio when a recording of a 'Piano Pulse' episode was in session.
This was when the amapiano artist stopped by at the studios to address the comments made by Ndlovu and Ledwaba about his rapper girlfriend, Gigi Lamayne.
When the drama with Reason unfolded in the studio, she took it as a sign from God that it was time to leave. To her, the situation was the answer she had been seeking, and she felt that God was speaking to her, guiding her to move on.
'After the Reason situation, that was what I low-key prayed for. Not that I prayed for that to happen, but dude, when I fasted and that drama happened, I went 'ahh',' she said, emphasising that she needed a solid reason and God showed her.
Muthambi's decision to leave the podcast was also influenced by her initial doubts about joining the show.
She admitted that she was shaky about being a part of 'Piano Pulse' and had reservations about whether it was the right fit for her.
'It's not like I woke up and decided I wanted to leave. Literally like two months in, I was like 'Is this really for me?' Like I could feel it from the start,' she said.
Her concerns were further heightened when she heard MacG, host of 'Podcast and Chill', express doubts about her ability to last on the podcast due to her brand affiliations. MacG's comments hurt her feelings, but did not surprise her.

LaConco shows off Durban July dress inspired by farming business

Reality TV personality and fashion designer, Nonkanyiso Conco – fondly known as LaConco – showed off a Durban July outfit that reflected her new career venture as a female farmer. The 33-year-old was one of many Real Housewives of Durban stars who attended the horse racing and fashion event. LaConco – who has a son with former president Jacob Zuma – quit the show after just one season. In an Instagram post, LaConco revealed her look for the Durban July, which took place at the Greyville Racecourse over the weekend. The ensemble featured a two-piece outfit with a trail featuring the image of a ram. According to the TV star, the look was inspired by her recent venture into sheep and goat farming. LaConco added that the look was her original concept based on the event's 2025 theme, 'Marvels of Mzansi'. One that got away? Khaya Mthethwa on 'losing great people'

Former Idols South Africa winner turned preacher Khaya Mthethwa has spoken about losing 'great people' as well as his 'painful' divorce from ex-wife, Ntando Kunene. The former Miss South Africa has reportedly married again this weekend. She is also expecting a baby from her current, unidentified partner. In 2019, Khaya and Ntando split after less than two years of marriage. Before dating the beauty queen, Khaya reportedly dated actresses Jessica Nkosi and Nomzamo Mbatha, at the same time! Unlike his ex, Ntando Kunene, Khaya Mthethwa has made it clear he has no intention to marry again. The former Idols SA singer, who is now a preacher at the Oasis Church in Umlazi, KwaZulu-Natal, told the congregation in a clip that has gone viral: 'The marriage train has left. I've lost too many great people. Now I'm attracting rubbish'. Since his split from Ntando, Khaya was rumoured to have dated Instagram influencers, Mathapelo Khoza and Siphosethu Nkosi, in recent months. Speaking in an interview in May, Khaya Mthethwa touched on his bitter divorce from Ntando Kunene. He told Podcast, Radio & Stuff: 'I think that it is the most painful thing I have ever gone through in my life. I don't wish divorce on anyone. In fact, I will never divorce again. In December 2017, Khaya Mthethwa married former Miss SA Ntando Kunene. At the time, the couple had dated for just three months. Two years later, the couple – who welcomed a son, Oyinkosi – announced their shock split in a vague statement. According to Khaya, the new marriage was fraught with 'challenges' that the couple could not overcome. While neither Ntando nor Khaya has ever mentioned those challenges, the latter has been accused of being unfaithful in the past. Last year, a clip of Khaya Mthethwa claiming he 'told God' he 'knew' he didn't want to be married, just a few months after his wedding, went viral. The clip was allegedly taken from Khaya's sermon at the Assemblies of God Church in Sandton. He said in the clip: 'When I said to God, I don't think I want to be married anymore. I told God that in January. I'm like, 'I think'. Let us know by leaving a comment below, or send a WhatsApp to 060 011 021 1 . Las Vegas fans disappointed as Kelly Clarkson cancels shows

Kelly Clarkson has postponed the opening nights of her highly anticipated Las Vegas residency, Kelly Clarkson: Studio Sessions. The residency takes place at The Colosseum at Caesars Palace. The shows scheduled for 4 and 5 July were cancelled due to vocal strain caused by intense rehearsal sessions. Kelly Clarkson revealed she needed to rest her voice to avoid serious damage, much to the disappointment of fans eagerly awaiting the performances. In an emotional Instagram statement, Clarkson opened up. 'We have been working 24/7 to make Studio Sessions the most intimate and extraordinary experience for my incredible fans. It breaks my heart to postpone these shows, but my voice needs rest to ensure I can give you the best performance possible.' She added, 'The production is truly amazing, and the musicians and singers are exceptional. I want us to start strong.' The singer, who has previously held a residency at Planet Hollywood Resort & Casino from 2023 to 2024, expressed optimism about returning soon, according to The Daily Mail. Caesars Palace has confirmed the postponements and offered ticket holders the choice of refunds or keeping their tickets for rescheduled dates. The residency is expected to run until 16 August, with additional shows planned for November, though the exact rescheduling of the cancelled performances remains uncertain. Kelly Clarkson's fans expressed mixed reactions. Some were frustrated by the late notice and the financial implications, while many sent Clarkson messages of support and wished her a speedy recovery.
