New director hopes to invest in future of theatre in Bretton
The Cresset is owned by the YMCA Trinity Group and is home to performance spaces as well as a library, day care centre, shops, church and pub. It is self funding and year end profits are put back into the work of the charity."It's not just a theatre, its a community hub, a place that is open from 07:00 to 23:00... with conference facilities, weddings and a really busy youth programme on stage and in the community with the YMCA."Ms Chantal added: "One of the things I want to do is bring in more original music as well as the really great fun tribute acts we are well-known for and bring in different music here like jazz, country [and] western, opera or local orchestras."We want the community to be a part of this venue in the way it was originally conceived to be the community hub of Bretton."
It was devised in the 1970s by Sir Harold Haywood and was officially opened in 1978 by HM The Queen with Prince Philip.Ms Chantal joined the theatre and events complex this year after a report was commissioned by the Cresset Board in partnership with Peterborough City Council. It said its recommendations would be implemented over the next five years. She wanted to hear suggestions of what the wider community wanted to see at the site and hoped to bring in more ideas and bigger audiences. Ms Chantal added: "Some of our staff have been here 40 years, they come and they stay because they love it and they care about The Cresset and you can feel that."You can feel it in the way that they behave and treat the audience as guests to their home, it's a very different vibe to the theatres I've worked in for the last 40 years."

Lauren Goodger shows off her surgically-enhanced curves in a tiny black bikini after revealing plans to have her BBL removed because plastic surgery 'ruined her looks'
set pulses racing after sharing a snap of her surgically-enhanced bottom in a new Instagram story on Wednesday. The former TOWIE star, 38, teased some new 'exclusive content' as she posed in front of a lavish pool with Chris Brown 's Under The Influence playing in the background. It comes weeks after Lauren admitted that she thinks she has 'ruined her looks' with plastic surgery. Earlier this year the TOWIE star, who shot to fame on the show when it first aired in 2010, revealed her plans to have her breast and bum implants removed this year. And speaking to The Sun, Lauren admitted the surgery she has undergone has left her thinking her body looks 'abnormal'. Lauren said she thinks her 'massive boobs and bum' have made her look bigger than she actually is and shared her plans to look like her old self again. The reality star expressed regret about getting the work done and insisted she plans to have all of it removed or reversed. Lauren said: 'I've ruined my looks with surgery - I hate my fake boobs and bum now. 'I feel like my body looks abnormal - I don't need these massive boobs and massive bum. She added: 'When I look at myself naked in the mirror, all I see is lumps and bumps everywhere.' In May, Lauren revealed she is having her 'heavy' breast implants removed and can't wait to go back to a 'natural look '. She admitted her breasts were 'perfect' before although now they simply 'make her look big' while opening up about her breast-reduction journey on Instagram. The reality star shared on her Instagram page a snap posing in a sheer dusty pink baby doll, showing off her very ample assets. She wrote in the lengthy caption: '11 years ago I had a breast augmentation, one of the things I regret later in life. 'I had the perfect boobs .. they have been great over the years but since being a mum and breastfeeding for 1 year they have now changed and I've always found they make me look bigger! 'Also they are heavy and I don't like the idea of an implant being in me all these years and I miss my old boobs so much.. so after looking around I've found someone that I feel really keen with having my consultation with @marksolomos. 'This is a HUGE step for me I've wanted to have them removed for so long but suffering with serve anxiety surgery is the last thing I can do ! Lauren finished: 'So it's early stages but I am bringing you a long with me!

Dan Walker breaks his silence after being bombarded with questions from worried fans about extended absence from Channel 5 News and radio show
Dan Walker has broken his silence after being bombarded with questions from worried fans about his extended absence from Channel 5 News and radio show. The journalist, 48, presents Classic FM on Sunday afternoons and often presents on 5 News too. However, some viewers noticed Dan had been away from his usual gigs and he took to social media to address the concerns. He posted a video to Instagram and said: 'Hello, I've been asked by quite a few people if I've left Channel 5 and why I've disappeared from Classic FM. The answer is twofold.' Dan then went on to explain he had been missing from radio and TV because of filming and a family holiday. He continued: 'First is, I'm on holiday with the family for a couple of weeks and the second is that I'm filming a new series for Channel 5 which you should be able to see I think in September, which I can't tell you too much about but it's going to be great fun. 'So that's why I've not been on the telly. The radio I'll be back on Monday and I'll be back on 5 News in a couple of weeks time once I've finished filming the series. 'There you go, that's the answer, it looks like the lovely weather is over, the rain has returned, have a great day.' Dan became host of the daily renowned news programme BBC Breakfast back in 2016 but moved to Channel 5 in 2022. Dan previously revealed that he 'used to cry in the toilets' while presenting BBC Breakfast during an interview on This Morning. He recalled that his early 3am starts was one of the difficulties of his job and made him struggle with bad sleep deprivation. Speaking to This Morning hosts Josie Gibson and Dermot O'Leary on the ITV daytime show, Dan shed light on the downside of waking up double early for work. He said: 'When I used to do BBC Breakfast, you know what it's like. If that alarm goes off at three that's far too early, that's flight to Spain time isn't it. 'I get up now about 5.30am/ 5.45am, which is essentially a lie in and I feel great, I feel refreshed and I really enjoy the job I do. 'By Wednesday I was, like, full zombie mode. And also you get really emotional. By Wednesday I was like, end of the show, you are like, in the toilets just crying. 'Anything sets you off. Someone says something nice about your trousers and you are like [fake cries]. 'Not everyday [he cried], but I think you just get a little bit emotional when you are sleep-deprived.' Dan went on to bag a reported £1.5million deal with Channel 5 to host it's nightly news programme. He made the announcement today on the Jeremy Vine Show and posted a short video to his Twitter with the caption 'Here we go. See you next Monday at 5, on 5.' In the clip, Walker said: 'It's great to be joining Channel 5, but news is never about who sits in the chair. It's the stories that matter most from a team you can trust.' The star was one of the BBC's highest-paid stars, earning £295,000 a year to host their Breakfast show. When Dan announced his decision to leave the BBC, he said: 'I'm really excited, but this has also been a massive decision for me, because I love Breakfast, I love working alongside Sally [Nugent], and I love the team there. 'But Channel 5 came with big ambitions, big plans, and I don't think opportunities like this come around very often, and I can't wait.' Since joining Channel 5, Dan has gone on to film a range of shows including Dead Man Walking: Dan Walker on Death Row and Dan & Helen's Pennine Adventure, amongst others.

'Hey is that your twin? Happy birthday' 'This is like a glitch in the Matrix. Why is the person pushing you also you?!' '2 Kalebs ?' 'Kaleb squared.' 'How are you pushing yourself on the swing?' 'Why is Kaleb pushing himself on the swing? My brain has malfunctioned!' Many took to the comments section to share their shock at how similar the siblings look - and Jeremy also left a brutal comment Back in May Kaleb revealed the truth about his absence in Clarkson's Farm series four and explained how 'brilliant' stand-in farmhand Harriet Cowan 'saved the day'. The TV star featured on This Morning over video and chatted with co-hosts Cat Deeley, 48, and Ben Shephard, 50. Season four of Clarkson's Farm hits our screens on May 23 and saw Kaleb disappear halfway through for a nationwide speaking tour. He was temporarily replaced by Harriet and Kaleb revealed she was 'brilliant' and even helped Jeremy 'trim his eyebrows'. The young farmer confirmed he was still very much a part of the show but Harriet 'saved the day' with her help while he was away. 'I'm still involved, there's lots of rumours going about that I've been replaced but I'm still here, Harriet stepped in as I jumped away on tour, I'm very grateful that Harriet came along and saved the day,' he said. Ben commented how Harriet had helped Jeremy to tidy his eyebrows and Kaleb quipped back: 'I know his hair's terrible but I don't really notice his eyebrows.' Kaleb added: 'He shouldn't be trusted alone on the farm, he's getting better but there are loads of things he still can't do.' The star reflected on the work he gets stuck in with at Diddly Squat. He said: 'Loading pigs is hard work, it was incredibly bad weather last year so the mud was unbelievable. They like to try things, they were biting my wellies.' 'Jeremy was very relaxed thinking he had done his job, he'd completely forgot about me,' Kaleb quipped.
