Daily Mail5 days ago
CCTV has been released of a woman that officers would like to speak with after a man was stabbed in the chest with a broken glass bottle on a train.
The incident came after a fight broke out on a train between Brighton and Haywards Heath, West Sussex, at around midnight on July 1.
During the altercation a person was seen threatening a man with a glass bottle, before smashing it and stabbing the man in the chest with it.
British Transport Police (BTP) say their officers - and paramedics - rushed to the scene at Haywards Heath to respond to the 'serious assault'.
Two people were taken to hospital for treatment for non-life-threatening injuries.
A man was arrested on suspicion of grievous bodily harm but was later released without charge, while another man was arrested on suspicion of affray.
Officers believe the woman in the CCTV image may have information which could help their investigation.
Anyone who recognises her is asked to contact BTP.
They can be reached by texting 61016 or by calling 0800 40 50 40.
Reference 17 of July 1, 2025, should be used in any correspondence.

EXCLUSIVE Controversial 'top performing' Ray White real estate agent Josh Tesolin finally comes clean with a staggering admission

One of Australia's most divisive real estate agents has finally broken his silence after Daily Mail Australia revealed that he and his agency were being investigated by NSW Fair Trading for underquoting and complaints. Josh Tesolin, who made headlines in 2021 after he made $7million in commissions at just 26 years old, addressed the investigation publicly for the first time in a podcast interview with fellow agent Adrian Bo that was released on May 28. Tesolin, who is the owner and principal of Ray White Quakers Hill in Sydney 's northwest, said the investigation had been 'going on for three years, now'. 'What are we being investigated for? Fair Trading came in, asked for files, we complied with the regulator,' Tesolin continued. 'Anything the regulator has asked, whether it be 500 files... three files... we have completely complied with the regulator at every single stage.' Tesolin also took the opportunity to lash his critics, telling Bo they were simply jealous of his success. 'As you know Adrian... tall poppy syndrome is a big thing in this industry,' he said. His admission about the long-running NSW Fair Trading investigation contradicts the statement the Ray White Group provided to Daily Mail Australia a month earlier, which claimed that 'Josh Tesolin is not aware of any personal investigation into him'. Tesolin (pictured) was awarded the Number 1 Agent in Australia award via RateMyAgent four times in 2023, 2022, 2021 and 2020 out of 60,000 real estate agents 'Rather, on 16 March 2023, the corporate licensee responded to an investigation by NSW Fair Trading; since that date, there has been no penalty, fine or regulatory action taken by NSW Fair Trading against the corporate licensee or Mr Tesolin,' it said. A Fair Trading spokesperson confirmed this week that the investigation was ongoing. 'The Strata and Property Services Taskforce within NSW Fair Trading is investigating Quakers Hill Ray White Real Estate and Josh Tesolin following proactive compliance blitzes into underquoting and complaints,' they said. 'As this investigation is ongoing, no further comment is available at this time.' It's understood the investigation will be completed in the coming weeks. When contacted by Daily Mail Australia about Tesolin's comments on the podcast, Ray White said it was unaware of the 'specific matters' under investigation. 'The Ray White Group has always offered its full cooperation and support to NSW Fair Trading in any investigation of its members,' a spokesperson said. 'In relation to Ray White Quakers Hill, we have still not been informed of the specific matters under investigation, despite being told by the media. 'NSW Fair Trading have provided Ray White - the franchisor - with no formal communication regarding its investigation regarding Josh Tesolin.' Daily Mail Australia is not suggesting Tesolin has engaged in underquoting, only that NSW Fair Trading is investigating his agency in Quakers Hill. In 2021, Tesolin was awarded the Number 1 Agent in Australia by RateMyAgent, a title he secured four years in a row, from 2020 to 2023, standing out among over 60,000 real estate agents nationwide. Never one to shy away from celebrating his achievements, Tesolin made a bold statement at a real estate conference in New Zealand, debuting a custom-made jacket adorned with images of properties he's had a hand in selling. Under NSW law, real estate agents must provide a reasonable estimate of a property's likely selling price in the agency agreement. If a price range is used in advertising, the highest price must not exceed the lowest price by more than 10 per cent. In NSW, underquoting is an offence, attracting penalties of up to $22,000. A property sold on June 5 by the Tesolin Group was guided at $950,000, much lower than the $1,145,000 it sold for in 2021. The home in Riverstone ultimately sold for $1,351,000, a difference of 42 per cent from the reserve. Tim McKibbin, the CEO of the Real Estate Institute of NSW, said it was unusual for a property to be listed for less than its previous sale price in the current market. 'I'm not shocked that it was marketed at a lower price, but generally, you wouldn't expect a property to sell for less than it previously did,' he told Daily Mail Australia. 'There could be a multitude of factors influencing this, the property may have been damaged, or there may have been changes in the surrounding area. 'All of these elements can impact a property's value.' The agent interviewing Tesolin, Mr Bo, made headlines in 2019 after he was forced to resign from McGrath Real Estate in the city's eastern suburbs. His resignation came in the wake of an investigation into a complaint that Bo had reportedly asked a much younger staffer 'how many c***s he had sucked?'

Chris Brown denies further charges over alleged bottle attack at London club

The singer Chris Brown has denied further charges over an alleged bottle attack at a London nightclub. The American musician pleaded not guilty to assault occasioning actual bodily harm to Abraham Diaw at the Tape venue, a private members' club in Hanover Square, Mayfair, on 19 February 2023. He also denied having an offensive weapon, a bottle, in a public place. His co-defendant, Omololu Akinlolu, a US national, on Friday denied assault occasioning actual bodily harm. They sat side by side in the dock, looking straight ahead during the hearing at Southwark crown court. About 20 fans sat in the public gallery behind the dock, with several gasping as the singer walked into court. A trial lasting five to seven days is due to start on 26 October 2026. Brown denied the more serious charge of attempting to cause grievous bodily harm at a previous hearing. He was able to continue with his scheduled international tour after he was freed on conditional bail in May. The singer had to pay a £5m security fee to the court as part of the bail agreement, designed to ensure he returns to court. The sum may be forfeited if he breaches bail conditions. Brown was arrested at the Lowry hotel in Manchester at 2am on 15 May by Metropolitan police detectives. He is said to have flown to Manchester airport on a private jet in preparation for the UK tour dates. He was released from HMP Forest Bank in Salford, Greater Manchester, on 21 May. Shortly after, Brown posted an Instagram story referencing his upcoming tour that said: 'FROM THE CAGE TO THE STAGE!!! BREEZYBOWL.'

Moment brazen thief caught stuffing golden OCTOPUS down her trousers in antiques store leaving owners baffled

WATCH the surprising moment a thief tries to steal a golden octopus from an antique shop - by stuffing it down her trousers. The unique strategy was captured on CCTV footage at Battlesbridge Antiques Centre in Essex. 4 4 4 Perhaps the most shocking part is that the brazen thief managed to get away with it - at least for a few days. Although the theft occurred on July 1, staff only noticed that the oddly-shaped candlestick holder had gone missing this week. After looking back through CCTV footage, the owners discovered video of a man and a woman entering the store, before the woman takes the candles out of the holder and puts the antique down her trousers. At the start of the footage, a man in an orange top can be seen browsing the shelves nearby. He then taps on the octopus candlestick holder, pointing it out to the woman he is with. The pair then continue to stand around idly looking at the shelves in the vicinity. As the man walks over to the rotating display of jewellery, the woman appears to be getting a closer look at the eight-legged object. They try to act casual by appearing to browse other items around the shop. The woman then begins removing the candles from the display. She then starts to stuff the octopus under her trousers - not an easy feat given how large the sculpture is. 'Irish cannot handle spice' - Watch Katie Taylor struggle in hilarious challenge with TWO Hollywood A-listers The curve of its eight-legs seems to be giving her some trouble as she uses her top to hide the rest of it. A glint of gold can still be seen poking out of her jumper which she then attempts to cover behind her bag. Manager Claire Wade told Essex Live that they've only had shoplifters steal from the store a few times, and "it's mainly been young or middle-aged men, not grandparents." She said that the husband had told the woman which item to take and kept a lookout while she completed the tricky manoeuvre. Claire plans to report the incident to the police once they have reviewed all of the CCTV footage on site, as she has rented part of the centre for 15 years. She added: "We were just in shock, it's a great big thing to put down your trousers isn't it?" The item was only worth around £40 and can be bought online, as Claire said: "I don't know why she wanted it." They are using the incident as a warning to customers that they won't tolerate shoplifting. She said: "We want people to know that you can't just turn up at the centre and just help yourself. We're going to do a wall of shame." Commenters on the video were just as shocked by the behaviour as the owner was. One said: "Wow, very desperate and very sad."
