Huge Emmerdale exit as beloved character is ordered to move out

Things have been strained between Paddy Kirk (Dominic Brunt) and Bear Wolf (Joshua Richards) since Liam Cavanagh (Jonny McPherson) left the house in Emmerdale, and a violent attack is set to tip things over the edge. Paddy and Bear have butted heads since Bear left Eve playing with some dangerous sleeping pills, and Paddy saw his carelessness as a threat to Eve's life. They came to verbal blows again when Bear played the inconsiderate housemate by trying to fix his bike all over the house. While anyone on the outside looking in can see something is up with Bear, Paddy is simply growing more and more frustrated. They find common ground again and seem to be getting along, and when Paddy suffers a vicious dog attack while saving a sheep, Bear comes to his rescue and saves the day. The attack is bad; Paddy is mauled and needs surgery. Having fought off the dog, Bear gets his son to hospital and anxiously waits with Mandy Dingle (Lisa Riley) for news. Paddy pulls through, but instead of relief, Bear unleashes a torrent of abuse on his son and his son's character. Mandy makes him leave, but the damage is done. Bear's words wound him more than the dog's teeth, and once home and well enough, he grabs his vets' gun and heads off to Celia's farm and confronts her about her dog – which is something Bear tells him to do. But the confrontation goes about as well as Bear's post-surgery pep talk. Paddy spirals and his birthday is a non-event due to his low mood. He confronts Bear over his bad advice and the fallout is catastrophic. Want to be the first to hear shocking EastEnders spoilers? Who's leaving Coronation Street? The latest gossip from Emmerdale? More Trending But with something clearly brewing with Bear, will fragile Paddy be left with the guilt of the way he's now treated his dad when whatever it is comes to light? Teasing the arrival of new character Celia, played by Jaye Griffiths, Dominic Brunt said: 'I don't think anybody's come across anyone like Celia before! She's brilliant. She's a true baddie. And in the same way that like classic baddies, like Kim Tate, for example, the way that they actually enjoy being a baddie, the reason they are a villain is because they enjoy being a villain, you know, not because they have any choice, but they enjoy it. And she's got that, you know, she really likes toying with people. View More » 'She's got nothing to lose. She's in her own space and time, and she's in charge, and you'll never get one past her.' Samantha Womack slams 'rejection' from soap bosses over EastEnders exit

Actress Samantha Womack has opened up on her exit from EastEnders as she revealed it was not her decision to say goodbye to her beloved Ronnie Mitchell role Samantha Womack has hit out at soap bosses for being "rejected" as she reflected on her exit from EastEnders. The actress, who won over fans with her portrayal of Ronnie Mitchell, made her debut on the BBC soap in 2007. She appeared alongside Rita Simons, who played her close sister Roxy. Tragically, the beloved sister duo were brutally killed off after Ronnie's second wedding to Jack Branning. ‌ The decision for both Ronnie and Roxy to bow out of Albert Square came when Sean O'Connor took over as executive producer. Now, Samantha has revealed she felt "rejected" by the new boss as she confessed it was not her or Rita's decision to leave the soap. ‌ She admitted: "I don't really understand what happened, one producer was leaving and another was coming in, I don't know what went on." Leaving Walford felt like Samantha was "losing a family" as she struggled to come to terms with life without it. Samantha compared the loss to a "bereavement" and revealed it made her lose "stability". "But the thing that was the most painful - and it really was painful - was that me and Rita loved feeling like we belonged there," she told the Daily Mail. "Then to be rejected, and I know that's emotional but that's what it was, it hit us both so hard." However, Samantha has been able to look at it differently now time has passed. She said she is now thankful as leaving the soap opened up doors for other opportunities. Since leaving EastEnders, the actress has focused on her theatre career and landed a number of high profile roles. In 2019, she travelled around the UK for The Girl on the Train and also played Morticia Addams in the musical, The Addams Family. She has since moved to Valencia. ‌ However, things haven't been easy for Samantha as she underwent gruelling treatment for breast cancer after being diagnosed in August 2022, which has changed her outlook on life. 'I feel so much more enlightened,' she told the Mirror. 'I know myself better, I feel humbler, I feel calmer.' Samantha added: 'After my year-and-a-half of treatment, I started turning down a lot of stuff – and I didn't have the bank balance to match that confidence, trust me." ‌ Having announced she was cancer-free in December 2022, Samantha explained: 'It was me saying the word 'no' and my bank account creaking. "But there was empowerment in that because I thought, 'OK, I need to go through this, spend time with myself and figure out stuff that I've never figured out – maybe stuff I've buried under a rug.'' Samantha learned she had a fast-spreading, Grade 3 invasive duct carcinoma and her treatment – a lumpectomy and lymph node removal, followed by chemotherapy and radiotherapy – couldn't wait. Strictly star injured in horror London street phone robbery

Strictly Come Dancing star Michelle Tsiakkas has taken to social media to reveal she was the victim of a startling mobile phone robbery while out in London in broad daylight Strictly Come Dancing professional Michelle Tsiakkas has recounted being mugged for her phone in the streets of London. The 29-year-old dance expert has appeared on the hit BBC show since 2022. She was paired with EastEnders star Jamie Borthwick in the 2024 contest where they landed in seventh place. Taking to social media at the end of the week, the TV star shared a haunting account of being mugged in broad daylight. ‌ She told fans in a video message shared on her main grid: "This was a couple of days ago and I've just about mentally recovered from that. It was quite traumatising on the day. ‌ "It wasted my whole day and made me feel awful, scared, helpless and I don't want the same to happen to you. My phone got stolen. My phone got stolen. "I mean I see it happening all the time but it's just one of those things that you just never think it's gonna happen to you. And then it does." She went on to explain that she was simply going about her day when a criminal whizzed past her on an electric bike and snatched her phone from her hand. She recalled: "So it was early morning. I was on my way to the dentist in London. "It was around Covent Garden so the streets were really quiet. I think I was just the only person around so maybe I was an easy target and I whipped out my phone to have a look at the directions to see where my dentist was. "I was on the actual street of the dentist and what happens? A man comes on a bike behind me, sweeps past me and grabs my phone." ‌ Revealing she was injured in the incident, Michelle continued: "So he's grabbed my phone. He's on an electric bike and my heart just sank. I tried to I think like reach for it and that made me fall on my knees on the floor and graze my knee. "I think my reflex was just to swear and then scream give me back my phone and clearly you know that didn't work. He just left. He was wearing a mask so there was no way that I could have seen what he looked like and he was going really fast on that electric bike so there was no way on earth I could have caught up with him." ‌ She added: "Thankfully there were two really lovely and helpful women there and they'd seen that I was a bit distressed." Unsettled Londoners have been left in disbelief as mobile phone theft has increased at a horrifying rate. New statistics release this weekend have revealed that 231,000 phone thefts and robberies were recorded over the past four years in the city. Analysis by The Times revealed hotspots in London include St James's Park, where Piccadilly and Haymarket meet Pall Mall and Clarence House as well as parts of the West End. Figures released by Scotland Yard figures show a 20 per cent year-on-year increase in robberies - with 81,256 mobile phone crimes were recorded in 2023. The stats also showed that roughly 37 people have their phone snatched on the streets of the capital every day.
