Remove Ads Tired of too many ads? Remove Ads ( Originally published on Jun 26, 2025 ) It seems that opposites don't just attract but might just be the secret ingredient of stable marriages . In a candid chat with Mashable India, actress Kajol divulged the secret of her more than two-decade-long marriage wit 'Shaitaan' actor Ajay Devgn, saying that rather than hurdles, it's their differences that have helped them navigate marriage and be happy with each of creating friction, their contrasting personalities have built a stable foundation, allowing them to understand and balance each other, she reflected on how deeply different they are as individuals. According to her, if they were more similar, their journey together might not have lasted this long. Their ability to accept each other's opposing traits has prevented conflict from escalating and helped them evolve together. Ajay, who is famously reserved and introverted, has been a calming counterpart to Kajol's animated and vibrant personality. The couple has been married for 26 years, a milestone rarely seen in the entertainment world.'Ajay and I are completely different otherwise hum logo ko itne saal nahi lagte (it wouldn't have taken us so long), we would have separated long before," she told how they make their dynamic work, Kajol humorously shared that the true key to a long-lasting marriage is mastering the art of tuning out. She believes it's crucial to overlook certain things about your partner—whether it's forgetting minor mistakes or choosing not to dwell on something said in the heat of the moment. Selective memory and a touch of emotional deafness, as she described it, become practical tools in keeping the relationship peaceful and happy. Letting go of the little things allows for a more harmonious bond, even when life gets chaotic.'I say this quite often: the secret to a happy marriage is partial deafness and selective amnesia. You really need to forget certain things about your partner and sometimes unhear things they said. It is very important," she Kajol emphasized that their marriage doesn't rely on conventional romantic gestures like regular date nights. In fact, they hardly ever carve out time for elaborate couple outings. With both of them having hectic careers that demand frequent travel and long shooting schedules, they prefer to spend whatever free time they get at home, surrounded by their family. Quality time, for them, comes in the form of shared moments with their children and loved ones rather than elaborate couple activities. This grounded approach to love and companionship has played a big role in keeping their bond two got married in 1999 and are parents to two children—Nysa, their daughter, and Yug, their son. Despite their busy lives, they have remained committed to their roles as parents and partners.

Kajol rates Ajay Devgn a better dancer than Shah Rukh Khan and her reason is hilariously spot-on
Bollywood star Kajol turned dance critic and rated some of her fellow actors on their dancing skills, but with her signature wit, in a recent candid interview. While she gave Shah Rukh Khan a respectable score, it was husband Ajay Devgn who, surprisingly, beat him on the dance floor, not with high-energy moves but with sheer cleverness. Bollywood star Kajol turned dance critic and rated Shah Rukh Khan and Ajay Devgn on their dancing skills. In an interview with Mirchi Plus, when asked to rate popular actors on a scale of 1 to 10 as dancers, Kajol responded, "I think Shah Rukh is a good 7-8. I am also a 7-8, and we both try really hard so that we come to 7-8 eventually. Bahut josh ke sath hum 7-8 pe pohach jaate hai. (With a lot of passion, we both come to 7 to 8)." Her honest take on herself and Shah Rukh Khan, both known more for their screen presence than dance mastery, struck a relatable chord. However, things took an amusing turn when she rated Ajay Devgn a 9, despite his reputation for shying away from elaborate choreography. 'I would say Ajay Devgn is a 9,' she said, before adding the hilariously brilliant reason behind the high score. "He is the smartest actor. He makes sure, if there's a song, its beat should match his walk, so that it looks like he is dancing but in reality he is just walking." And of course, the undisputed king of dance in her list was none other than Hrithik Roshan. "Hrithik Roshan is definitely a 10. He has proved himself over the years." Kajol's upcoming projects Kajol is currently seen in Maa, a mythological horror drama directed by Vishal Furia, which has opened to mixed reviews. Following Maa, she will be seen in Sarzameen, an upcoming project from Karan Johar's production banner. In this film, she stars alongside Ibrahim Ali Khan and Prithviraj Sukumaran. The film is set to release on JioCinema on 25 July. Kajol will also appear in the high-octane action-thriller Maharagni—Queen of Queens, directed by Charan Tej Uppalapati. The film boasts a stellar ensemble cast that includes Naseeruddin Shah, Prabhu Deva, Jisshu Sengupta, Aditya Seal, and Pramod Pathak.

Kajol talks about not interfering in Ajay Devgn's financial choices: 'He has a lot of people to advise him'
Kajol opened up about her working relationship with husband Ajay Devgn , revealing that the two have never had major fights over their films. In an interview with IANS, the actress spoke about their professional dynamic, highlighting the mutual respect and understanding they share, both on and off screen. Kajol revealed that she doesn't get involved in Ajay 's financial decisions, trusting that he has the right advisors for that aspect. " Economically, I think he has a lot of people to advise him economically as to what he should and shouldn't do. So, no, I don't interfere with that aspect of it. As far as this film is concerned, Maa is concerned. Yes, we did have, you know, some long conversations about it. I think we were; we had to, you know, shoot a part of the climax as well for VFX reasons and for action, etc, etc. But yes, we're pretty much on the same page. We haven't really had any big fights over the movie." Speaking about Ajay Devgn's journey as a producer, the 'Dilwale' actress shared, "He as a producer is really good. He's an excellent producer, and he's one of those, you know, very hands-on producers. So, from scripting to, you know, the VFX to the music, he has made sure that he's a part of all of it and made sure that it all works, fits, even to the marketing for that matter. by Taboola by Taboola Sponsored Links Sponsored Links Promoted Links Promoted Links You May Like Giao dịch CFD với công nghệ và tốc độ tốt hơn IC Markets Đăng ký Undo So, yeah, he's a really good producer." "I think as a producer, he is very clear that he wants to make good films. He wants to make good films, and he makes sure that whatever happens, you know, his company will come out with a good product, something that he can stand up and say belongs to him and something that he can stand up and say he's not ashamed of, which I think is a huge mark for him as a man and as a producer, because sometimes it can get economically easy to produce a slightly shoddy product, but he has never let that come in his way as a producer. So, I think kudos to him for that."
