'Lokmata Ahilyabai Holkar's birth anniversary not historical event, but philosophy of life for all': Dhankar
Addressing a seminar organised under the Tercentenary Year Smriti Abhiyan-2025 of Maharani Ahilyabai Holkar, organised at GIC Ground, Pachkuiyan, the Vice President said, "We will have to take a pledge that we will follow her ideals. Lokmata was the representative of India's great tradition in difficult times, where religion-culture and governance flow in the same stream. So many temples including Somnath Gujarat, Kashi Vishwanath, Mahakaleshwar, Omkareshwar, Badrinath, Kedarnath, Bhimashankar, Rameshwaram Gokarna were revived by her hands. Veerangana Ahilyabai Holkar is an inspiration for us."
He said that creation and preservation of culture is very important. "When invader Aurangzeb brutally attacked Kashi Vishwanath, 100 years later Ahilyabai Holkar showed foresight and built a temple of Kashi Vishwanath," he said.
Discussing the current scenario, Dhankar said that the entire country is overwhelmed by the miraculous change that has come there. "One feels happy to see the picturesque ghats there. This work has been done by Chief Minister Yogi Adityanath under the leadership of PM Modi," he said.
He said that Yogi Adityanath is a visionary and believes in work. "In December 2021, he unveiled the statue of Adi Shankaracharya and Lokmata Ahilyabai Holkar at Kashi Vishwanath. The work done by Lokmata Ahilyabai Holkar was done by Yogi Adityanath. He transformed UP," he said.
He said, "After Kashi Vishwanath and Ayodhya, work will also be done in Mathura. The coming generations will remember the work of Yogi in the same way as we remember Lokmata today.
The Vice President said, "let us take a pledge that like Lokmata Ahilyabai, we will also consider duty as religion and will advance rights through service. Like the creation of law, Ahilyabai's thinking has also come in Yogi Adityanath," he said.
Recalling the valour of the Indian Army, he said that on April 22, the enemies showed cowardice in Pahalgam, they were answered.
Congratulating the Indian Army for the success of Operation Sindoor, the Vice President said that due to the valour of the army, the enemy had to chew iron grams. "The army gave a message to the world that India has changed. India will end terrorism, we will completely destroy anyone who tries to harm us," he said.
Addressing CM Yogi, he said, "how great the military production on your land is, it will keep echoing in the ears of the enemy. "The Brahmos manufactured here destroyed them by entering the hideouts of Jaish-e-Mohammed, Lashkar-e-Taiba," he said.
Dhankar said that Yogi Adityanath has completely changed the image of UP during his tenure. "Today UP means good governance and rule of law. Development is not possible without the rule of law. UP has now become Uttam Pradesh," he said.
He further said, "we are Indians, Indianness is our identity and nationalism is our religion. Nation is supreme. Whatever we do for the nation is less," he said.
The Vice President said, "My head is held high with pride because Ahilyabai Holkar also belonged to a farmer family. She was a lover of justice. She set very high standards for women empowerment. She formed a contingent of women in her army. Women empowerment is at its peak in today's India. There is reservation for women in Parliament and Legislative Assemblies as well. Ahilyabai Holkar did a lot for the farmers. Farmers are determined, so India will develop," he said.
He said that today's UP has become a wonderful example of cultural heritage. "Miraculous work beyond imagination has been done here. It started in 2014, when Narendra Modi chose Kashi as his political area. It gained momentum in 2017, when Yogi became the CM. Yogi has the pride of running the largest province continuously for so many years. The world was surprised to see the organisation of Maha Kumbh. The message of India's culture went all over the world," he said.
Programme coordinator Union Minister and Agra MP Prof S P Singh Baghel welcomed the guests. Haryana Governor Bandaru Dattatreya, Vice President's wife Dr Sudesh Dhankhar, Maharashtra Legislative Council Chairman Prof Ramshankarrao Shinde, former Deputy Chief Minister of Goa Chandrakant Babu Kavlekar, MP V K Parthasarathy, Bastipati Nagaraju were present in the programme.

Govt. to table private school fee Bill in Monsoon Session: CM
Chief Minister Rekha Gupta on Saturday said the Delhi government will table a Bill to regulate fee hikes by private schools during the upcoming Monsoon Session of the Assembly, beginning August 4. Amid ongoing protests by parents, the Delhi government had earlier approved a draft of the Bill and proposed bringing an Ordinance, since the Assembly was not in session. Now, it has decided to table the Delhi School Education (Transparency in Fixation and Regulation of Fees) Bill, 2025. 'The Delhi government will table the Bill to regulate fee hikes by private schools in the Monsoon Session of Assembly beginning from August 4,' Ms. Gupta said while addressing the media. The parents' groups, while pointing out issues in the Bill, said that they will send their detailed suggestions to the government on Sunday. Three-level checks A three-level verification will be implemented to regulate fee hikes, according to the Bill seen by The Hindu. First, schools will form an 11-member committee comprising the school management – a management representative and principal – three teachers, five parents from the parent-teacher association, selected by a draw of lots, and a nominee of the Directorate of Education (DoE). A District Fee Appellate Committee will hear appeals against the decisions taken by school-level committees. A similar procedure will be followed with a State-level revision committee, which will be the highest appellate authority. An aggrieved parents' group, which the Bill describes as 15% of the total strength of parents in an affected school, may appeal to the District Fee Appellate Committee within 30 days from the time the fees are approved, against the decisions of school-level committees. The Bill also specifies that if a school is found levying a fee that is not determined in the provisions of the Act, the DoE will direct the school to roll back the fee and refund the excess amount to the parents. The penalty for violators can range between ₹1 lakh and ₹10 lakh. Meanwhile, a fine of ₹50,000 will be levied on schools for harassing students over delayed payment of fees. The Bill also mentions the 10 factors that will determine the fee structure, including the location of the school, infrastructure made available, the education standardof schools, and a reasonable revenue surplus as may be prescribed. Divya Mattey, a parent of a student who studies in Delhi Public School, Dwarka, said, 'It will be difficult to get a minimum of 15% of the parent body to raise a question.' Mr. Mattey said that parents have noted that the penalties might not affect bigger schools, for whom '₹50,000 might be a small amount'. AAP, BJP at odds Aam Aadmi Party (AAP) Delhi State president Saurabh Bharadwaj criticised the Bill, saying, 'Until now, even under the 1973 law, if a single parent felt that fees had been unfairly hiked, they could file a complaint with the DoE. Now, that has been scrapped. Under the new law, you'll need a minimum of 15% of parents to raise a complaint. In a school with 3,000 students, that means identifying 450 parents – a near-impossible task.' Delhi BJP chief Virendra Sachdeva said, 'It would have been better if Saurabh Bharadwaj had waited until the Bill was tabled in the upcoming session before commenting on it.'

CM to give appointment letters to 1,494 police telecommunications recruits today
Lucknow: In a major push to the ongoing Mission Rozgar, CM Yogi Adityanath will distribute appointment letters to 1,494 newly selected candidates for the UP police telecommunication department in Lucknow on Aug 3. This marks a significant stride in modernising the police force and strengthening public sector employment in the state. Among the selected candidates are 1,374 assistant operators and 120 workshop employees. Their selection was conducted in a transparent and merit-based manner by the Uttar Pradesh Police Recruitment and Promotion Board (UPPRPB). These appointments come in the wake of the historic recruitment of 60,244 constables earlier this year. The recruitment aims to address the staffing needs of the police telecommunications department, equipping it with trained personnel to manage communication and technical operations within the police infrastructure more efficiently.
