Uttarakhand CM Dhami participate in 300th birth anniversary program of Ahilyabai Holkar
Haridwar (Uttarakhand) [India], June 8 (ANI): Uttarakhand Chief Minister Pushkar Singh Dhami participated in the Tricentenary Birth Anniversary program of Lokmata Ahilyabai Holkar, organised by Dhangar Samaj in Haridwar. On this occasion, the Chief Minister announced that the Gram Sabha of Salempur will be named after Lokmata Ahilyabai Holkar, on the proposal and with no objection. CM Dhami, while paying homage to Lokmata Punyashlok Ahilyabai Holkar, said that the Pal-Dhangar society has been the main basis of India's livestock-based economy since ancient times. 'Not only did she contribute significantly economically to the progress and development of the country, but she has also played an important role in preserving and advancing our rich cultural heritage. Even today, this society is making an important contribution in the creation of a self-reliant India on the strength of its hard work, dedication and self-respect,' he said. The Chief Minister said that Lokmata Ahilyabai Holkar is such a pious soul of Indian history who presented the best example of women's power. Lokmata Ahilyabai Holkar's entire life was dedicated to the re-establishment of Sanatan life values and Indian culture. 'She rebuilt temples and ghats in Kashi Vishwanath, Somnath, Dwarka, Rameshwaram, Ayodhya and Mathura as well as Badrinath, Kedarnath and Haridwar of our Devbhoomi. Rani Ahilyabai Holkar also presented such a unique example of women empowerment in that period, which was difficult to even imagine at that time,' CM Dhami said. Chief Minister said, 'For hundreds of years, foreign invaders and then even after independence, governments suffering from the mentality of slavery did not give the contribution of our great personalities the respect they really deserved. A well-planned conspiracy was hatched to deprive our young generation of their glorious history.' The Chief Minister said that today, under the leadership of Prime Minister Narendra Modi, India has entered the Amritkaal of the renaissance of its cultural consciousness. 'Our glorious history, the contribution of great national heroes and cultural heritage, which were neglected for years, are not only being restored today, but are also being made the basis of national consciousness. Today, the flag of our Sanatan culture is flying proudly all over the world and India is rapidly moving towards becoming a world leader again by connecting with its roots. Today, whether it is the construction of a grand Ram temple, reconstruction of Badrinath and Kedarnath shrines, expansion of Baba Vishwanath's corridor or the construction of Mahakal Lok,' he said. The Chief Minister said that unprecedented work is also being done in the direction of women's empowerment under the Prime Minister's leadership. 'Whether it is approving 33 percent reservation for women in Parliament and Legislative Assemblies, giving priority to the education and safety of daughters through the Beti Bachao-Beti Padhao campaign, freeing women from the smoke of the stove through the Ujjwala Yojana, making women self-reliant through the Lakhpati Didi Yojana or ending the evil practice of triple talaq. Through many such decisions, PM Modi has worked to ensure the respect of the mother power,' CM Dhami said. The Chief Minister said that the state government is also fully committed to preserving the cultural values and demography of Devbhoomi Uttarakhand. 'We have taken strict action against hateful mindsets like land jihad, love jihad and spit jihad in the state. Strict anti-riot and anti-conversion laws have also been implemented in the state. We are working with determination with the policy of 'zero tolerance' to end corruption in the state,' he said. Chief Minister Dhami said that earlier, there was a perception that action was taken only against small employees found involved in corruption, but today, in the state, not only small fish but also corrupt crocodiles are being caught. 'Recently, two IAS and one PCS officers have been suspended in the Haridwar land scam,' he added. (ANI)

From heritage to defence, Ahilyabai an inspiration: Yogi
Chief minister Yogi Adityanath on Sunday said that no barrier can come in the way of those inspired by national heroes and paid tribute to Ahilyabai Holkar, stressing that she was known for good governance, security and self-defence. 'Lokmata Ahilyabai Holkar stressed on self- defence and today our armed forces take inspiration while conducting surgical strikes and airstrikes. Indian defence forces demolished air bases of Pakistan and forced them to come to their knees,' Adityanath said. He was addressing an event in Agra to mark the 300th birth anniversary of Ahilyabai Holkar. He applauded Ahilyabai Holkar's contributions to renovating temples damaged and demolished by Mughal invaders. 'Inspired by Lokmata Ahilyabai Holkar, our government at the Centre and in the state, has begun various schemes for women empowerment and welfare. The previous regime in the state changed the name of a degree college set up in the name of Ahilyabai Holkar but we have named a medical college after her,' he said. He accused the previous regime in the state of remaining busy in nurturing the mafia, which posed a threat to law and order. 'Ahilyabai Holkar ruled the Malwa empire, which extended to parts of present-day Maharashtra and Madhya Pradesh. She undertook the mammoth task of renovating and restoring temples 250 years ago after they were demolished by Mughal invaders. This event is a tribute to this great contribution of Lokmata Ahilyabai Holkar,' he said. The chief minister welcomed Vice President Jagdeep Dhankhar, his wife Dr Sudesh Dhankhar and Haryana governor Bandaru Dattatreya at the event. 'One who gets inspired by national heroes is not going to face any barrier in his aim. Ahilyabai Holkar did so much for craftsmen, women, workers, farmers, youth and for the security, cultural heritage of the nation, which makes her our inspiration. Instead of investing funds from the state exchequer, she used her own money for revival of temples at Jagannath Puri, Gaya, Kashi Vishwanath, Mahakaal, Kedarnath Dham, Omkareshwar, Somnath and Rameshwaram. She lived for 70 years but left an immortal impression,' the chief minister said. 'We are running different schemes for the welfare of women after being inspired by Ahilyabai Holkar,' he said. 'Ahilyabai Holkar was committed to handicrafts. She had popularised the 'mahishmati saree,' much in the pattern of the Banarasi saree of Varanasi. She worked on an action plan for the betterment of women during her rule,' Adityanath added. The chief minister applauded efforts made by Union minister of state and Agra MP SP Singh Baghel for the success of the event, which had a healthy turnout despite the hot weather.

'Lokmata Ahilyabai Holkar's birth anniversary not historical event, but philosophy of life for all': Dhankar
Agra (UP), Jun 1 (UNI) Vice President Jagdeep Dhankhar said on Sunday that the birth anniversary of Lokmata Ahilyabai Holkar is not a date or a historical event, but a philosophy of life for everyone. Addressing a seminar organised under the Tercentenary Year Smriti Abhiyan-2025 of Maharani Ahilyabai Holkar, organised at GIC Ground, Pachkuiyan, the Vice President said, "We will have to take a pledge that we will follow her ideals. Lokmata was the representative of India's great tradition in difficult times, where religion-culture and governance flow in the same stream. So many temples including Somnath Gujarat, Kashi Vishwanath, Mahakaleshwar, Omkareshwar, Badrinath, Kedarnath, Bhimashankar, Rameshwaram Gokarna were revived by her hands. Veerangana Ahilyabai Holkar is an inspiration for us." He said that creation and preservation of culture is very important. "When invader Aurangzeb brutally attacked Kashi Vishwanath, 100 years later Ahilyabai Holkar showed foresight and built a temple of Kashi Vishwanath," he said. Discussing the current scenario, Dhankar said that the entire country is overwhelmed by the miraculous change that has come there. "One feels happy to see the picturesque ghats there. This work has been done by Chief Minister Yogi Adityanath under the leadership of PM Modi," he said. He said that Yogi Adityanath is a visionary and believes in work. "In December 2021, he unveiled the statue of Adi Shankaracharya and Lokmata Ahilyabai Holkar at Kashi Vishwanath. The work done by Lokmata Ahilyabai Holkar was done by Yogi Adityanath. He transformed UP," he said. He said, "After Kashi Vishwanath and Ayodhya, work will also be done in Mathura. The coming generations will remember the work of Yogi in the same way as we remember Lokmata today. The Vice President said, "let us take a pledge that like Lokmata Ahilyabai, we will also consider duty as religion and will advance rights through service. Like the creation of law, Ahilyabai's thinking has also come in Yogi Adityanath," he said. Recalling the valour of the Indian Army, he said that on April 22, the enemies showed cowardice in Pahalgam, they were answered. Congratulating the Indian Army for the success of Operation Sindoor, the Vice President said that due to the valour of the army, the enemy had to chew iron grams. "The army gave a message to the world that India has changed. India will end terrorism, we will completely destroy anyone who tries to harm us," he said. Addressing CM Yogi, he said, "how great the military production on your land is, it will keep echoing in the ears of the enemy. "The Brahmos manufactured here destroyed them by entering the hideouts of Jaish-e-Mohammed, Lashkar-e-Taiba," he said. Dhankar said that Yogi Adityanath has completely changed the image of UP during his tenure. "Today UP means good governance and rule of law. Development is not possible without the rule of law. UP has now become Uttam Pradesh," he said. He further said, "we are Indians, Indianness is our identity and nationalism is our religion. Nation is supreme. Whatever we do for the nation is less," he said. The Vice President said, "My head is held high with pride because Ahilyabai Holkar also belonged to a farmer family. She was a lover of justice. She set very high standards for women empowerment. She formed a contingent of women in her army. Women empowerment is at its peak in today's India. There is reservation for women in Parliament and Legislative Assemblies as well. Ahilyabai Holkar did a lot for the farmers. Farmers are determined, so India will develop," he said. He said that today's UP has become a wonderful example of cultural heritage. "Miraculous work beyond imagination has been done here. It started in 2014, when Narendra Modi chose Kashi as his political area. It gained momentum in 2017, when Yogi became the CM. Yogi has the pride of running the largest province continuously for so many years. The world was surprised to see the organisation of Maha Kumbh. The message of India's culture went all over the world," he said. Programme coordinator Union Minister and Agra MP Prof S P Singh Baghel welcomed the guests. Haryana Governor Bandaru Dattatreya, Vice President's wife Dr Sudesh Dhankhar, Maharashtra Legislative Council Chairman Prof Ramshankarrao Shinde, former Deputy Chief Minister of Goa Chandrakant Babu Kavlekar, MP V K Parthasarathy, Bastipati Nagaraju were present in the programme.
