Maha: Speakers outline key priorities into building airport ecosystems
The roundtable, hosted by Media Fusion under the theme 'Reimagining Airport Passenger Infrastructure through Innovation, Technology and Sustainability,' brought together a distinguished panel of speakers: Joseph Gouda, Joint Director, Indian Revenue Service; Sumeet Suseelan, member, Ministry of Civil Aviation (AAC), Government of India; Geetha Priya G, Senior Director & Sector Head – Infrastructure & Airports, JLL India; Vikram Falodiya, Head – Terminal Operations, Navi Mumbai International Airport; Nitin Sharma, DVP – Business Development, dormakaba, and Taher Patrawala, Managing Director, Media Fusion LLC.
Discussions centred on India's remarkable aviation trajectory—now the world's third-largest domestic market, contributing 1.5 percent to national GDP and supporting 7.7 million jobs. Over the last decade, more than 85 airports have been developed, with a roadmap to scale that number to 350 by 2047 under the government's Viksit Bharat vision.
The roundtable highlighted both the opportunities and the urgency to reshape infrastructure in line with this growth.
Speakers outlined key priorities, including the need to bridge infrastructure gaps, reduce import dependencies and enhance regional connectivity through the UDAN scheme. Strengthening digital ecosystems to manage rising cybersecurity risks was also identified as a crucial area of focus.
With over 12 billion US dollars already invested in air transport infrastructure, India is setting its sights on capturing a USD four billion share of the global Maintenance, Repair, and Overhaul (MRO) market by 2031, with the aim of establishing itself as a self-reliant aviation hub.
The conversation also showcased a suite of transformative technologies shaping airport experiences: biometric-based Digi Yatra, AI-powered digital twins, integrated multi-modal transport systems, and Net Zero, LEED-certified terminals were all cited as pivotal in creating globally benchmarked, passenger-centric infrastructure.

Haryana also moved to amend the Haryana Minor Mineral Concession Rules, 2012, formalising the ISTP levy and setting the stage for further regulatory changes under the 2025 amendment. In a relief for shop allottees at Panchkula's Agro-mall, the cabinet approved a compensation plan that offers 7% annual interest for delays in possession or refunds for those surrendering plots. Trump fires BLS' Erika McEntarfer over jobs numbers
New York, Aug 1 (UNI) President Donald Trump has fired Dr. Erika McEntarfer, the commissioner of the Bureau of Labor Statistics, accusing her, without evidence, of manipulating the monthly jobs reports for 'political purposes'. The BLS' monthly labour report on Friday showed that the US economy added only 73,000 jobs in July, far below expectations. It also sharply revised down the employment growth that had been previously reported in May and June – by a combined 258,000 jobs, reports CNN. After the revisions, the jobs report showed the weakest pace of hiring for any three-month period since the pandemic recession in 2020. 'In my opinion, today's Jobs Numbers were RIGGED in order to make the Republicans, and ME, look bad,' Trump said in a Truth Social post while calling the revisions a 'mistake'. Although the May and June jobs numbers were worse than initially believed, revisions are normal in this process. The BLS' initial monthly jobs estimates are often based on incomplete data, so they are revised twice after the initial report — followed by an annual revision every February. Additionally, BLS economists use a formula to smooth out jobs' numbers for seasonal variations and that can exacerbate revisions when they fall outside economists' expectations. 'McEntarfer said there were only 73,000 Jobs added (a shock!) but, more importantly, that a major mistake was made by them, 258,000 Jobs downward, in the prior two months,' Trump continued. 'Similar things happened in the first part of the year, always to the negative. The Economy is BOOMING under 'TRUMP.'' Trump said McEntarfer 'faked' the jobs numbers before the election to try to boost former Vice President Kamala Harris' chances in the 2024 presidential election. 'She will be replaced with someone much more competent and qualified. Important numbers like this must be fair and accurate, they can't be manipulated for political purposes,' Trump said on Truth Social Friday. Three-day CM YUVA Conclave fuels entrepreneurship in youths
Lucknow: The three-day CM YUVA Conclave and Expo-2025 received an overwhelming response, with over 30,000 youths participating in the event, which concluded at Indira Gandhi Pratishthan on Friday, marking a significant milestone in the state's entrepreneurial journey. "The scale of engagement was unprecedented, with more than 24,000 online registrations, over 4,000 offline participants, 10,000 business meetings, 50,000 business queries, and 8,380 prospective entrepreneurs emerging from the conclave," an official spokesperson said. The expo was inaugurated on July 30 by Chief Minister Yogi Adityanath, who encouraged the youth to become self-reliant while interacting with representatives of leading brands. Owing to the positive public response, the event was extended by a day to accommodate continued footfall and interest. Officials said that over the three days, reputed brands such as Dr Garage, MBA Makhanawala, Amul, Kidzee, Tata Power, and Dawa India showcased their business models.
